My cousin's wife had a baby Tuesday afternoon. They finally decided on a name today. Yes, two days after she was born. The hospital was getting on their case about it because they needed to get the paperwork filled out.

The name they settled on is Kylie Rhian. I've heard of Kylie before but I've never heard of Rhian. It is pronounced Ree-Anne. Has anyone else heard of the name Rhian?

Yes, I have heard of both names here. Rhian & Rhianna are not that uncommon. Kylie I think is a bit of an aussie name (yep just looked it up and it's actually an Aboriginal name).

I would assume that Rhian has come about as a shortened version on Rhiannon, which is a Gaelic name.

Yep, This what we considered for Olivia's middle name, but went with Brianne instead.

Rhianna is actually the name we've chosen for a girl (if we ever have more kids that is) I think its beautiful & DH likes it b/c of its origin (his Dad's family is ALL Welsh)
In the book I have its listed as a Welsh name meaning nymph, goddess or witch (obviously I normally leave out the latter meanig:) )
