Has anyone gone on a field trip yet? Did you go to help out? Caroline's first one is today, to the nature center and a pumpkin farm. She was so excited I thought her head would explode! :giggle:

Alex went on his first field trip last Monday. At least that is what we called it. It was to the Apex Center (indoor waterpark) with his Intersession class. Since we have tracks at our elementary school, Intersession is optional classes offered while kids are out of school. He got to ride the school bus and play with his friends. Unfortunately, our school doesn't do kindie field trips so this is as close as he will get for a little while. This week he went to play laser tag and next week he will go ride horses at the local stables.
Forgot to add, no I don't help out for these trips. Hopefully I will be able to when he goes next year.

Aidan's is also on 10/26 to a nature center. They just started the unit leading up to the trip this week.

I think Jack's class is going on one sometime this month. I usually volunteer if I can bring Patrick with me too.

Anna goes to a cider mill on the 26th. If I could take J, I would love to volunteer. :)

Aidan's first was this past Friday to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch. I didn't go. I did sign up for a few this year, though. I made sure they were dates that Chris could take off to stay home w/ the kids. He even volunteered to go on one :aok:

Maia went to a local HS to see a play. I think it was "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." They didn't need any chaperones. :dunno: I wanted to go.

Ariana will be going on one Oct 31st to The Partridge Plantation Farm. I will not be going because I can't take Autumn and I don't have anyone that can watch her that day. She is really excited.

Janelle's first field trip would of been Oct. 2nd to an apple orchard/cider mill, but we moved before that, no clue about her new school...we get to go in and do a tour and meet her teacher/principal and stuff next week.
Since we have tracks at our elementary school, Intersession is optional classes offered while kids are out of school.
Can I ask exactly how this track system works? I've never really encountered it before. We were told Janelle won't start school till the 22nd since that is the track she will be on. Do they end up all getting out at the same time in the summer, or is that different too?

Our first one is tomorrow and it is to Cidermill Farms: (http://www.cidermillfarms.ca/home)
JK/Sk: Our fall guided tour is specially designed for primary students. Your class will experience an orchard walk, apple picking, cider and donut tasting, apple stamping, and apple games. They will also visit our animals, and learn how we care for our horses.
I'm going. I try to go to all of them, and since I'm a rotating shift worker, I often have days off in the week so I can go. I'm on midnights starting tonight, so I'm getting a ride with another Mom.
Mason has another one to Colasanti's Tropical Gardens (http://www.colasanti.com/) in November for the Montessori. I might go to that, I'm on afternoons, so I could go in the morning if I wanted.
I don't/won't bring Graham with me because I figure it's Mason's trip and Graham will get his own when he's in JK/SK. But then, I also have daycare for him.

Emma's first one is tomorrow too, to go apple picking. I'm not sure the weather is going to be that great, though. :( I decided not to chaperone this time.

No field trips for Paige and this is quite an issue with me..I mean how hard is it to plan a trip to the grocery store even if not a pumpkin patch and get a pumpkin for crying out loud? :tapfoot:

Tyrus had his first one at the end of Sept. It was to the Apple Orchard. I went and helped drive some kids, since his school is a Charter and they have no public transportation. Alexis went with me and I left Carsten with his grandma. It was fun to go and spend more time with the teachers, and also see the kids interacting with each other. Plus the cider was fantastic! :aok:

Christopher went on his first one last week. The trip was to a local farm where they had a tour and got to go and pick a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. He had a great time! I wasn't able to go since I had to take and pick Patrick up at preschool while they were on the trip.

They've postponed the trip until Monday. Thank goodness, b/c it would have been a very wet trip.

Aaron's first trip is on Monday to an apple orchard. I'm going because they need extra drivers. Or maybe I'm going because I love this particular orchard for their apple turnovers and hot cider. :shuffle:

Jackson's preschool class has had 2 already. The first one was to Boston to see the Make Way for Ducklings statue and go on a Swan Boat ride (MWFD was the book they were reading). I went on that one, as did Anna. His second one, to a firestation, was this past Tuesday. We didn't end up going b/c he was sick. :blue: Again, I was supposed to chaparone.

Riley's first one is the 29th to the pumpkin patch. That's a little late for pumpkins if you ask me. David will probably go on that one since it's on a Monday and Mondays are my busiest days at work.

I just got home from Joshua and Kyle's field trip today to the farm. They separated the two grades so I was with Kyle's class. Kyle was so excited to go on his first field trip and to ride the school bus for the first time. He picked the "biggest" of the little pie pumpkins off the vine that they were allowed to chose from of course and he could barely carry it:lol:. No clue how big Joshua's is as he was already back on the bus by the time we got back.
The farm we went to grow Apples, Various cabbages, brussel sprouts, potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, brocolli and they even had some strawberries that just appeared again!!! This crazy weather we have been having made NEXT years crop appear!! It was funny to see rows of red berries in the middle of October.

I went there the last time we were down. Might go this weekend again when I *HAVE* to go to my SIL's baby shower.

They said something at the beginning of the school year about a field trip to a pumpkin patch in October, but haven't heard anything yet. Rebecca though, has 2 field trips this month- 1 yesterday which was a picnic to a park (brr!) and then next week to Hog Wallow Farm (great name, huh? :) )

I don't know of any field trips coming up. Last year when Victoria was in kindergarten they went pumpkin picking but I don't know if the whole school did it or just the kindergarteners. I didn't go on either trip last year and won't be able to go on any this year (if there are any) because of Alex and Lauren.
