Calling all cloth diapering moms!!!
There is a mom on another board I belong to who is collecting cloth diapering supplies for Ukrainian orphanages. When I went to the website to look at these poor kids, I just could not believe what I saw. It is just so so sad how these babies are living right now. http://baby.ourlittleuniverse.com/images/smilies/iminn.gif

I just wanted to pass this information along to everyone here incase you had extra diapers to spare. You just send them to her and she will send them to the Ukraine. I have copied her post below for you all to read. If you are interested in reading about this project, go to www.life2orphans.com (http://www.life2orphans.com/), then on the left click on projects 2004, and then under that click on washable diaper project...Just let me know if you would like her address and I will get you that information.

If you are a non cloth mom, like myself, you can donate in other ways. I am going donate a percentage of all the money I earn this week from eby and buy formula. Children over there are not given formula after four months of age because it is so expensive. You can also send used clothes, strollers, or toys. All the info is right on the website.

}Hello, all. I collect and ship cloth diapering supplies to Ukrainian orphanages through a non-profit called Life2Orphans (http:www.life2orphans.com (http://www.life2orphans.com/)) . Some of you wonderful mamas and WAHM have sent stuff for this effort, and I'm putting out the call now for more items.

We desperately need covers for kids under 20 lbs (the average 2 yo in the orphanages weighs only 15 lbs). We're also collecting preemie and infant cpfs, but the major need is covers.

If you have any useable covers--stains do NOT matter--would you be willing to send them to me? I collect them and send them in one big shipment to Ukraine.

Since March 2003 I've sent more than 1500 diapers and covers, collected from businesses and mamas here. We're receiving steady reports from the orphanages that the halls don't smell of urine anymore, kids are more comfortable, and the kids get more liquids (before liquids were restricted because they didm't have enough staff to handle clothing changes--they had ZERO diapers. Babies wore nothing or, at best, a rag held up with tights). You can view pics of the orphanages at the Life2Orphans site.)
