Cutting Practice?

Austin needs to do some practice with his scissors..Anyone have any sites where I can print some stuff out?

are you talking about cutting along the dotted lines stuff? If so I don't know that answer. :lol: Sorry!

I usually just have Aaron cut stuff out of newspapers or magazines. He's very awkward with scissors. His teacher told me to put a smiley face on his thumb and to tell him to keep his thumb smiling (meaning that thumb stays on top) as he's cutting.

Kara, the best thing to do is take a piece of computer paper, draw some wavey lines and some straight lines and some zig zag lines. Have him cut along the lines. You also want to draw a stop line. Something many kids have trouble with is stopping at a certain point!

I didn't check out those sites but those are my recommendations as a preschool aid and from my education classes from college :lol:

Lynn and JAyne, he was supposed to cut out letters the other day..I don't know if they were letters in a sqaure or what..probably I would imagine. He just gives up and says he can't do it. But I know he can..

Kara - Just a tip... you might want to check his grip on his scissors. If he isn't holding them correctly, it could really be hurting his hand and that might be the cause of him wanting to give up.
