Hi all! I'm looking for a gift for a 1 year old. I would like to give them something unique, but the thing is, the party is TOMORROW! Yeah, way to wait until the last second, I know.

So, I was thinking of something like a savings bond (but I think you have to know the child's social security number) or something like that. This kid is the third boy in the family, so he doesn't need clothes or toys or really anything.

I'm off to search the web. I guess I could always say that the gift is coming. Actually, this friend of mine did that for my son's last birthday which was in March. So, I figure it's ok. We do have a pretty cool toy store near us though in case I do decide to go that route.

Thanks for any suggestions.

We just had Anna's birthday party last week...and my favorite gift was a GC to Shutterfly, so we could print out the pics from the party. She doesn't really need any clothes or toys, so I thought that was neat. She also got at GC to Target (which I like as well), and a GC to the YMCA so I can sign her up for some classes in the fall.

I liked all these b/c as I said she really doesn't need any clothes or toys...and they were a little different.

Books! Find a newly published hardback to add to the child's library!

Thanks! I really like the Shutterfly idea. I was thinking about a GC to a photo studio, but our Picture People just closed. The only other one we have here is Sears or Walmart. There are nicer studios, but I don't want to do those.

Books would be good too. What do I get? Like a book for an older kid? I suppose we could just do a GC for a bookstore.

Off for more searching.
