Getting Worried ... No rolling !

I probably shouldn't be doing this, but I'm getting worried about my son. :blue: He's going to be 6 months old next week and he's still yet to roll over! :owow:

He tries, but just doesn't get his leg over.

He has however, started sitting tripod style (I set him up) , but it's only for a few minutes and then he either cries or falls over.

Anyone have a late roller? How old was he/she?

Lette, you may well remember that Caroline was late in doing EVERYTHING. No rolling until 6 months (or was it 6 1/2?), no crawling until almost 9 months, no walking until 15 months. If Ben is at the top of the weight charts, he has more bulk to get moving and it just takes longer. Don't fret yet!

I wouldn't worry yet. Frances still can't roll back to front and she's over 7 months now. If you're concerned, talk to your ped, but it's probably nothing to worry about.

Emma was a late roller, too. I think she was 5.5 to 6 months. Poor kid, I used to put her on a blanket and roll her over again and again, hoping she'd get it! She was also a late crawler- 8.5 months, but turned out to start walking the week before her 1st bday.

I wouldn't worry about him- he'll do it when he's good and ready! (But I know how a mommy can get anxious!!)

Lette...Joshua has only rolled a few times from belly to back that one day i posted in my journal and the next and that was it! :lol: He hasn't rolled either way again. I'm not too worried though, he's a happy kid and up on his other skills and learning new things daily, he'll roll when he feels like it :lol:

I don't remember exactly when Sean was rolling, but it was on the later side too. I wouldn't worry about it, especially since he is trying.

I was just going to post this as Kyle isn't rolling over either :(. Then again he can't lift his head up when he is on his tummy either :eek:

Ellie didn't roll over until she was 6+ months. I was beginning to think she would never do it! :lol: I wouldn't worry just yet.

My son Carter didn't roll until 6 months, didn't sit until 9 months and didn't crawl until almost 14 months - and even then he prefferred/still prefers to commando crawl. He's now 15 1/2 months and isn't walking yet and my pediatrician says not to worry. I know how you feel though - it's hard.

Sam is 5 1/2 months old and has rolled from belly to back twice, but I think those were sort of accidents. She's about 3/4 of the way there with rolling from back to belly. For her, it's the shoulders and not the legs...she can't seem to get that bottom shoulder out of the way. At her 4 month checkup the ped. didn't seem too worried that she really wasn't even trying yet. I figure it'll happen overnight. That's basically the way it went with all of the little ones I know. One day nothing, and the next day they were rolling around the room non-stop!

My SIL has you all beat! Her daughter didn't roll over until, get this....... 10.5 months!

They actually took her to the doctor for tests and stuff. She was fine the official diagnosis was fat and lazy. :)

Eoin isn't rolling yet either. However, he is trying really hard. But being as chunky as he is I am not surprised. I think boys are just a little later on things. I am not going to worry yet.

Our doctor commented on this today. He said he gets more 'worries' about rolling and developmental stuff from moms of boys then he does of moms of girls. He said there wasn't any scientific data on it or anything (I'm sure there is SOMEWHERE!) but it was just his observations as a doctor.
Anyway, our son Aaron didn't roll over until he was 7+ months (either way), and still isn't 100% crawling. Did I worry? Heck yeah I worried! But all of a sudden he just 'got' it and he's been a rolling fool! :lol: It was as if all of a sudden he decided to do everything all at once. Oh, and he's 9 months

Abby will be 6 months on April 13 and she still doesn't roll at either. I was worried but I have gotten over it. I think she is just lazy!!! She can sit for 20-30 seconds now so I just think she is going to be one of those babies who doesn't seem to follow the proper order of things!!!! Don't worry he'll get it when he is ready!

Jackson is just over 5 months and he isn't rolling either, he doesn't even try to roll from back to belly. When he is on his belly he tries to roll, but can't do it. He is a big boy, so I think that has a lot to do with it. I have been spending a lot of time trying to get him to roll, I think he'd rather that I roll him than do it himself!

My DD was a late roller (just started really rolling both ways at around 6-6.5 months) and at 8 months is just now starting to act interested in crawling. She's at the top of the weight (and height) charts for her age, this has to have something to do with it. There are babies her age an younger who are crawling, cruising all over, and pulling up in her GymCrawlers class, so it's hard not to feel like she's "behind", even though I know she's just moving at her own pace. The interesting thing is that she starting sitting on her own rather early (5 months).

Woo Hoo! :banana: :banana: Ben is finally a little rolling monster! :lol:
It started late last week with Ben rolling over in his crib. We'd put him in on his belly and I'd go in and check on him and he'd be on his back. :lol: Ben's been a belly sleeper since week 6 :blush: so this was very odd for us to see.

Then the one time I put him up for a nap and I didn't hear anything, so I went up to check and there he is lying on his back again, having a good time playing peek-a-boo with his blanket. :lol:

But, he wasn't rolling so much on the floor yet.

So this past weekend we had him in his playgym when all of a sudden we look over and there he is off the mat on the floor on his belly!

Yesterday he practically rolled over the whole floor while we were eating Easter dinner! :lol: Blanket and all!
