Weve had 2 great teachers this year..but I don't want to go overboard. We are just doing gift cards this year anyway.
How much is too much?

I got lucky and was able to go in on a class gift for both sets of teachers. I think for both it was $10 per teacher.

Colin's class hasn't said anything about a group gift yet, and I'm not sure if they will - but I've got 3 weeks to figure that out.

Aidan's class did a collection already, and I did $10 per teacher. I might make them cookies or something extra b/c I've really liked/appreciated them.

Ugh! I had completely forgotten about this! Aden's last day is Friday, so I guess I need to get my butt in gear :shuffle: I'm thinking I'll get them Target gift cards for $20 each? :dunno:

For Christmas we gave Eliot's teacher a $25 gift certificate to the nearest teacher supply store. Eliot attend public school & I know the teachers there always have to pull out of their own pockets for a lot of their classroom stuff. His teacher loved it

Eliot's completion ceremony is Thursday night and I haven't gotten anything yet!! Well, actually I have a few little things I got at CVS (cute sticky notes & magnets) but I still gotta get the main gift, which it would probably be no more than $25.

I had gotten them each 2 $25 gift cards, one to a restaurant and one to Barnes and Noble. I think I'll just give them the restaurant ones though and keep the others on hand. Thanks!

We spent $15 ea. 4 of us pitched in and got these giant hanging baskets for each teacher. They cried when they got them so I guess they liked them.

We were asked to give $15 and one of the moms bought gift cards for each teacher with the money that was collected.

We wanted to get them something thoughtful that they would like. So, we bought $2 bell-shaped bird seed feeders and then a $1.50 pot and a $.25 flower. I know it sounds really cheap, but Carter will paint the pot and they can either keep it in there or plant it in their flower garden. I really think it's the thought that counts and we are putting a lot more effort into this than we would if we were just getting a gift card or something.

For Connor and Lilly's teacher, we went in on a group gift (spa gift certificate) at $20 per parent. I offered to give $40 since I have two kids in the class, but the other moms wouldn't hear of it.

I also gave the teacher a 5x7 framed photo of her and all the kids in the class from the mother's day tea. She cried when I gave it to her. She's taking a year off (her father died the first day of this school year and she had a really rough year in her personal life.) She says she keeps a little box of school photos but none of them have her in them.

We gave a small gift to the preschool director and custodian ($10 g.c. to the grocery store  ).

We gave Eliot's teacher a $25 GC to Bed, Bath & Beyond... she loved it :aok: I also added a couple of MK things, some summery looking sticky notes & magnets... figure she can use those all the time.

Alyssa has three teachers ...the main teacher, assistant and then this other lady  I gave them each a 10$ GC to dunkin donuts. Tylor only has one main teacher (I don't do the exchange teacher or the gym/art/music teachers so I will get 1 gc to DD for 20$

Oh - I forgot that we also made scrapbooks for the teachers. Each kid in the class was given one 12x12 page and 3 8x8 pages and they were supposed to decorate them. Rebekah put background paper of her choice and one photo on each one and then drew all over them and wrote her name.

You guys have such great ideas! I love the scrapbooks and the spa certificates!
