Do any of you know if your school district uses Gesell testing? I pulled a few links on it, including http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_g2602/is_0002/ai_2602000271 Essentially, it's a test to show developmental readiness for school placement.
The new school district we're moving to does not have public Kindergarten ( :rolleyes: ) but does have transitional first grade. So they have a 5-part evaluation for regular first grade or transitional first grade: 2 days of in-school testing next month, Kindergarten teacher survey (nearly all kids go to private K), parent survey and this Gesell test.
I missed the parent meeting (we hadn't bought the house yet) so I didn't get a great explanation of the Gesell test, so I wondered if anyone here knew more about it?
