Anyone tried, or want to try this?

http://www.tryingtoconceive.com/needle.htm

I've done it and it says Boy, Boy, Girl, Girl. I actually did some research on it on another site. There was a thread from 2004 where women had posted about doing it and what their results were, and now looking at their siggies in this same thread in 2007, these women had EXACTLY what the needle and thread test said they would. Something to wonder about!

So wait, do you only do it when you are pregnant, or it doesn't matter? How do you determine how many pregnancies? I am intrigued now  I did it just now and it said BOY, GIRL. (actually, I did it 3 times and it did it the SAME way each time, it's a little freaky, I say  ).... hmmmmm...something to wonder about.

milliez
May 9th, 2007, 10:05 PM
You can do it whenever, pregnant or not. Apparently it also counts miscarriages! As for how many pregnancies, the needle should stop in between each gender. If it goes right from one to another without pause, or stays the same for quite a while, then it's twins. It's pretty interesting!

A lot of the women in that thread that I spoke of earlier, had either had none of their children, or only one or two back in 2004, and here three years later, they had actually had exactly what that test said. It's so strange to me. I am not superstitious at all, but it's just strange.

Ok, Melissa, Thanks!! i redid it the right way LOL and now it says either BOY, GIRL, BOY, or BOY, GIRL/BOY twins... after the second one, it kind of slows down and goes right into lines.... I did it 3 times and it comes out the same exact way....

milliez
May 9th, 2007, 10:42 PM
Okay, so then hurry up and get pregnant so we can see if it's right! I think that if it slows down, then it would be boy/girl/boy, but if it goes right into the next one, then it would be twins.

I am almost wanting to find out the gender of this one just to see if I can disprove it or not!

okay well that time it did boy, boy, boy, girl but the one between the boy and girl didn't stop, it just started doing circles and we know that Jacob wasn't a twin :giggle:

Okay.....I just did this. :shuffle:

circle - my abortion in 1982
straight - my first mc
circle - my second mc
straight - Alex
circle - my third mc
circle - my most recent mc
circle - :)

Then it stopped.... I left it for about 10 seconds to see if it would start up again, and it didn't. So....with any luck....the next time I get pg, that one will be IT and it will be a girl. :)

This was weird!! I tried really hard to keep my hand still and it still moved just like it wanted to. And then it would stop after a couple of seconds....and then start up again in a couple of seconds!! Weird.....

Ok, so why isn't it working for me? Am I doing something wrong? I am going to have to try this again, maybe my thread length is wrong, i don't really know what 6-10 inches is, so I guessed, maybe I should go convert it into cm's so I have the right length.

I believe it's about 15 - 25 cm. Make sure you hold the thread at the knot, which is the part that should be 6-10 inches above the needle. Don't forget to flip your hand over. Let us know what you come up with!

Well, I did it again, I shortened the thread a bit as it was too long, and both times I did it it came up 5 boys. I did have a pregnancy before Aiden, so going by that it was a boy, and this one in my belly is a boy too. So it's a boyfest for me :heee:

I had my MIL and SIL do it... MIL had 2 mc, then Destini, Damon and Dustin. Hers came out as GIRL-GIRL-BOY-GIRL-BOY-BOY.. so if she had another mc, it's true. The mc she had very early on...like your period is late...

They have a chromosome translocation syndrom in their family, which means 2 pieces of chromosomes exchange pieces.. usually, if there is a problem with the baby, it's so severe, the body just rejects the baby-that's why the mc is really early on. So it's possible she had another one and didn't know about it..

SIL's was very faint... the needle wouldn't move much... but it came out as BOY (she has one son)... and then, *I think* BOY..it was hard to tell...

I did mine to show them how it goes, and BAM-another EXACT couple of times.... BOY-GIRL/BOY. I hope it's wrong  Maybe i'm reading it wrong and it's supposed to be boy-girl-boy...but it stops after the first boy, then goes into girl, slows down just a tiny bit and does lines again.

Lyoshka
May 13th, 2007, 11:11 AM
So, I"m wondering, how in the world can it come true for so many people? I mean, it's a stupid needle and a stupid thread, right? I think i'm looking for reassurance it might actually be wrong, being how I am in a bit of denial about the twin possibility

like complete stop? well, maybe for a split second. It would slow down, then change course and speed up. Maybe my interpretation of a stop is a long stop

Wow Lena, that's pretty accurate!! You too Silky! Wow.

Now, I had my mom do it and it was different every time and wrong almost every time. Interesting. The first time it said boy, boy. WRONG. Then it said girl, girl. Right, kind of. Then it said girl, girl/girl. Right. Then it said girl, girl, boy, girl. REALLY WRONG!

My mom had two girls. I was a twin, but my twin died early in the pregnancy. So, the third time was right, but the other times were wrong. I did it for me just to see if it was the length of the thread or something, but mine came back BBGG again, the same as always. Not sure why it didn't work for her.:dunno:

So, it definitely isn't accurate for everyone.

Since I'm sure I've done it right, I've gotten:

Girl-boy-boy/girl (switched faintly to circles after a bunch of lines, maybe a disappearing girl twin?)

I guess it all goes back to my childhood. The two main healthy relationships missing in my life were between me and 1)my mom and 2)my sister. Layla has more than filled the gap caused by my mom. So, I guess now I'm really hoping for a sister for her. A way for me to help nourish a hopefully healthy sister relationship. I don't know why it's so important at this moment. Honestly it didn't even matter to me until a month ago, that's when my "intuition" kicked in. Could be pg hormones, who knows?? It's not like I'll be devastated if this is a boy. My cousin, Nathan, and I were connected at the hip when we were little, so I know she could have a great relationship with a little brother. It's just that ideally, I would love another daughter and I would love a sister for Layla. That to me would be my "ideal" family, so why not pray for it?? I am happy with whatever God gives me.

Yeah, I understand your intentions but I guess in reality it could go the opposite way. My sister and I had/have a horrible relationship and no matter how hard my parents try to connect us it just doesn't work because we are two completely different personalities and Layla could end up bonding really well to one of her brothers. I am glad to hear that you won't be devistated cause that's what I was worried about, putting so much hope into the sex can lead to serious let down

Just for fun though I tried it on DH to see what it would do and it did the same thing for him. First circles and then completely stop.

 It's a needle and thread, I think we can all pretty much confirm it's all just BS and a bit of fun. The fact it did the same thing for some people over and over has to be a freak of nature or the fact that subconsciously the hand holding the thread was creating the movements somehow :dunno:

This is definitely for fun, but neat how it's right sometimes.:awink: The only true gender identifier is birth.

I'll send you my 4. Then you only have one left to scrounge up.

I've done it 3 times. The first 2 times it said 3 girls (well, the third one was a girl) and the last time it said 1 boy and 2 girls. I think it's a little off for me

I just tried this twice.

I got boy - Aaron
and then girl - m/c

and then it stopped. :)

I finally did this. I believe it was boy, girl, boy. CERTAINLY at one point I got big, wide circle movement, and then it went back to a line. And we all know, I'm drowning in testorone here. ;) I've never had a m/c that I know of.

Holy crap! I had no idea she was pregnant again!!!!! I can't believe her uterus holds up! It's amazing. Here I am worried about my C-section scarred uterus being stretched for a 4th time and she has a C-section scarred uterus being stretched for the 17th time. (well probably less than that considering she had some twins) but still! YIKES!
