I got a speeding ticket yesterday...it was one of those 25 mph little street deals. I thought I was going around 35, but he said he clocked me at 46. not good. I have to go to court on June 15...he couldn't tell me what the fine would be, said it's up to the judge. I haven't had tickets in forever, and am wondering........ 21 over is pretty bad if the judge wants to stick me with it, right?
What are some possible outcomes (the officer mentioned supervision and all that, but i'm concerned about more serious consequences)? What are my options? Any action I should take now?

I don't think there's much you can do until you go to court. There's always a chance the cop won't show up. And usually they offer some kind of plea deal.

So, if I don't see the officer there..... Do I say I think I was going around 35..or do I just hang my head and plead for mercy?

If the cop's not there, you say you weren't speeding and since there's nobody to prove otherwise, it gets tossed.

:hug99: I'm glad to have company in the lead-foot club. In Virginia going 20 over is considered reckless driving. DH was caught with that in December or January. He appeared in court and the judge knocked it down to 19 over the limit. It was a fine of $90 which he gladly paid.
Good luck!

I was hoping you'd reply, Melissa  I remember your thread... The cop on the phone wasn't sure if it was 30 or less here, but that's what he said he remembered.....so i hope he is right... I sure hope i'll be okay

You should be able to google it, speeding tickets Illinois, or something like that.
