MIL sent me a birthday gift in the mail. It's a beautiful porcelain vase in the shape of a ballet shoe with fake flowers in it and a ballerina in it too. I love it (which is saying a lot seeing as I can't stand the woman).
The problem? Even though MIL wrapped it very well, the post office still damaged it. The foot of the base of the vase broke. I can re-attach it (not sure what I'm going to use, maybe super glue or I'll go buy rubber cement), and it will look fine. I'm debating on whether or not I should say anything to MIL about it. There was a "fragile" stamp on the box. I can't tell for sure on the label, but I don't believe she purchased insurance on it. I'm just thinking saying something to her may upset her unnecessarily. While I really really don't like her, and I'm currently PO'd at her (not over this, I don't blame her one bit for the vase being broken), I really don't want her getting upset and screaming at the post office or something.
