You're out at a restaurant or bar - what drink do you order?

April 27th, 2007, 11:19 AM
Usually we'll just get a bottle of wine (most often red).
Sometimes I'll order a microbrew beer or a Cosmo or whatever "fancy" martini drink they serve.

If it's a microbrewery type place, either a fruity wheat beer or an amber beer. If I want a cocktail, either a margahrita or vodka & tonic.
Hmm, we have the makings for a V&T in the house, I think I might have to have one tonight.

At restaurants, I usually drink water, sometimes diet coke. If I'm going to order a 'drink' drink it's usually a margarita at Mexican places, and Crown & 7 at other places.
At bars I drink Crown & 7.

At a restaurant, etc. it's either water, iced tea or diet coke. At a bar - probably Bud Light in a bottle.

At a restaurant usually iced tea ...or like peach, raspberry mint or some form of iced tea. If I'm getting a 'drink drink' then usually a cosmo or something fruity.

It depends when or where I am. If it is at a family restaurant with DH and the girls, I get water, ice tea or coke. If I am out with friends or just DH, sometimes I have either a Bellini, glass of zinfendel or a glass of sangria. I don't remember the last time I have been to a bar.

If non-alcoholic, I drink Diet Coke. Alcoholic, usually Sierra Nevada or other pale ale type microbrew.

Almost 100% diet coke but I am attempting to cut that out so it is now water or sprite!

Non-alcoholic - it's usually just water. Sometimes a diet coke, but I don't really enjoy it.
Alcoholic - I'll get a Smirnoff Ice, and a glass of water. Sounds gross, but I mix them together (unless it's been a really bad day! ), I find it tones it down a bit. Occasionally (and I mean very occasionally), I'll get a cosmo, or a daiquiri.

Water with lemon please, restaurant or bar.

Non-alcoholic = water or diet coke
Alcoholic, it depends on where we are, Mexican = margarita, a bar = fruity martini or wine, regular restaurant = wine, Irish Pub = beer

Usually something frozen or fruity, I'm not picky! LOL!
gulp!
April 27th, 2007, 01:48 PM
non alcoholic, usually water, diet coke, or iced tea.
Alcoholic- most likely red wine, sometimes a beer. I generally order Pete's or Sam's seasonal beer. However, if sangria is an option, then I almost always order that. :)

If I'm in the mood for alcohol, I'll either get wine, beer, or a fruity drink (margarita, pina colada, etc....). If not, I'm probably having iced tea.

It really depends where I'm at...I love the peach thing at outback...but since we don't really care for outbacks food (or the wait) I've only had it 3 times...all 3 times I've gotten a BFP less than 3 days later. Usually at most restaraunts I just order a glass of wine, or a bottle of wine if DH and I can decide on something we'd both like...usually though I order wine and he orders beer... But if the restaraunt has some interesting and yummy sounding cocktail on the menu I'll definitely try that.
Other than alcohol...I almost always get sprite/sierra mist/7-up

Usually Diet Coke, but maybe and iced tea or lemonade.
If I were to drink a beer, I would order Sleeman's honey brown or cream ale.

Non-alcoholic - usually iced tea
Alcoholic - depends on my mood as well. :) My last drink was a raspberry mojito. :lick: I also like red wine with a good meal or a beer in the summer. I don't have one drink that I always get....just depends on what I want right then.

Nearly always if we go out to eat, I'll order a microbrew type of beer on draft. I usually only order red wine when I'm out with work or at corporate function, but even then, I tend to like a good draft. I very rarely order a mixed drink, the big exception is Mexican = margaritas or if I'm at a funky lounge (really, this is work functions/travel) a mojito.
If for god knows what reason I'm not drinking :screwy: it's just water w/ lemon. Actually, I get that regardless. :)

Non-alcoholic - what's that? :shuffle:
I always order white wine. That's really all I drink these days (but it's extremely rare that I go anywhere to order it) as well as water. I'm not a soft drink fan really, so if it's not alcohol, it's just water.
All of you iced tea drinkers better bring your own if you travel overseas! I've never seen iced tea on a menu anywhere in the world other then the US.

Finally getting a chance to answer! Stupid job. :complain:
Non-alcholic choice: always water. I'm not a soda or tea drinker.
Alcoholic: Really depends on my mood, like a lot of you. Usually red wine at a restaurant, unless we're eating Mexican then it's a margarita. At a bar, it's usually a cosmo or wine; every once in a while I'll get a vodka sour.
On a related note, I just had my first ever martini not too long ago. (it was the start of a night that didn't end well for me, but I digress... ) It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I got a dirty vodka one. I don't think I can do a tradtional (gin) one. Christmas tree flavor doesn't belong in a drink.

Non-alcoholic ~ water with lemon, coke or lemonade... used to be a big iced tea drinker but I'm not sure what happened since I don't drink it much :dunno:
Alcoholic ~ a top shelf frozen margarita with salt OR a swirl one either strawberry or mango if available OR I can go for a nice frozen mudslide :lick:

When I was at a bar in Chicago last week it was orange but when it is at my house it is straight up no fruit. :dunno:

I can't drink alcohol while eating. I just never have been able to, it makes me so thirsty. So when at a restuarant I will always order sparkling water or Zero.
At a bar I will normally get vodka drinks, the ones I was really getting into before getting pregnant was the Smirnoff Vodka Twists, normally the blueberry one but I would do the lime one too.

Out with family: Diet Coke. Sometimes I get sweet tea if they have it (which would only be in parts of the US).
Out with friends: Red wine usually.
Date night: Sangria (pitcher, never just a glass!) if they have it. If it's a "mixed drink" kind of place, I'll get something with vodka or rum.

If it's just dh and myself I get a beer( Super Bock-portugese brand )
out with the girls( doesn't happen often  ) just tap water 'cause they are costing us a fortune as is with the drinks/refills they order
When I went to the bar by myself with some fellow coworkers I ordered a ceasar and then just a couple beers(BUD) for the rest of the night.

Non-Alcoholic: water
Alcoholic: Usually red wine, unless we're at a Mexican place, then a margarita. If we're outside on a patio in the summer, then a beer...either a Dos Equis, Blue Moon (with orange), or Rolling Rock Light. However, sangria trumps all drinks.
If I were to drink a beer, I would order Sleeman's honey brown or cream ale.
:lick: Nectar of the gods  I love cream ale. But we can only get it in the store. I wish bars & restaurants sold it.

Non-alcoholic - what's that? :shuffle:
Yeah, I agree.
I can't remember the last time I was out and didn't have an alcoholic drink with dinner.
Depends on the place, really. Cosmopolitians are usually my catch all drink - but sometimes it's a good red wine. I only drink beer with pizza - and even that is slowly going by the wayside.
I prefer Guiness on tap, personally.
Sign me up for Sangria if we're at a place that sells it - otherwise it's a margarita with Mexican.
Of course, with sushi, one must have sake.... there is a good sake martini at the last Japanese steakhouse I was at - it was nice and sweet, and kicked me in the butt.
But, after I get my drink (or two), then I have water.

What is sweet tea? I have heard people talk about it before, but I don't know what it is. Is it like iced tea?
