Finding a pediatric dentist for Austin to have some work done :(

My immediate stress is this: My au pair is on vacation this week. My mom was here helping me but had to go back to NY this morning. My husband won't get here until late tonight. I'm on call. I need to pick the kids up from daycare by 5:45pm. The schedule is light today but if an emergency occurs, I'm totally screwed!
My bigger stress is the whole buying a house/selling a house stress.

Kara - Nathaniel needs to see a pediatric dentist, too. That's one of my projects for July when I'm not working!

I took yesterday and today off, since it's Aidan's school vacation week. That means I've just cut down on work though - on a call now.
Anyway, we went to the Boston Museum of Science yesterday when it was a nice day, and today is rainy and now I don't know what we should do. There is another local fun science center, but it might be packed due to the rain and school vacation.
Question about the most stress...it's 2-fold. One work thing I can't talk about and the other is my long-term stress...our f'in house is still on the market. We're supposedly getting an offer on Monday, but we recently dropped $15K and these people say we're at the top of their price range so who knows what they'll offer.

I guess my biggest stress right now is somewhat no biggie...IT is trying to keep from getting sick. I have been nauseous all morning. I had some water, I am nibbling on some Nilla wafers right now and that isnt' working. I don't have anymore saltines in the house and I had a slice of toast and that didn't work either. Timmy is asleep and since we are remodeling the kids room his porta crib is in my room and I can't even go in there and lay down.

Alyssa, :vibes: selling vibes being sent your way!!
Jayne, I hope ms leave you alone soon :hug99: BTW, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
No real stress right now, that doesn't happen very often around here, wait a little bit and I'll have something to write about  No work deadlines, no places to be today. I need to start laundry, get some porkchops in some marinate & when Blair wakes up we'll work on getting the playground/swingset all done... hmmm, that might be the end of my non-stressful day :giggle:

Amanda, I hope you make it to 5:45!
Kara, is it hard to find a ped dentist around you?
Alyssa, I hope these buyers are the ones.
Jayne, morning sickness is good, right?! :)
My biggest stress, well, I'm a little stressed about getting ready for Aubrey's birthday party tomorrow. After that, the big stress is whether we're moving and if so, when, and the million stressful decisions that go along with that (including selling our house, Alyssa, so I'll be right there with ya!)
schwanda

Cami - Where would you move? You can join the stress of trying to sell your house. My brother lives in Notting Hill but I wish he'd move back to the States!

Add me to the list of people who is stressed about moving. We are 99% for sure moving to Cincinnati sometime in the June-ish timeframe. Hopefully, we'll know more once Eric sorts everything out with GE. In the meantime, I need to clean the house like it's never been cleaned before to get it ready to put up for sale.
The main stress in my life right now is Dylan sleep issues. There is no need to get up and cry and thrash about for an hour at 1:30am, dear child.

Has he been talking w/ Anya? With her it's 2 AM, but the same wide-eyed awake, thrashing around when I'm trying to hold her. I figure it has to be teeth?
Good luck with the moving / house selling, all. Alyssa, I feel so bad for you with your house on the market for so long.

Cami - Not really, the problem is everyone is 30 min away...and most likely he will be put out if he can't do the nitrous...so the one I had an appt with, a friend had a bad experience, and then I got her paperwork in the mail and it just didn't leave me with a good feeling. I am going to call our dental ins today to see if it matters if we see a specialist or not, another one called me back today and they seemed very nice.

Thanks Kara. Barring an emergency in the ER, I should be in good shape. One of the scrub techs (the person who hands us instruments in the OR) lives near me and she's going to have dinner with us tonight in case I have to come back in. She's very nice and we had dinner with her last weekend.

I am feeling better. I went to walmart with the kids and I was moving as fast as I could to get out of there. It was hitting hard but by the time I got out in the fresh air I was feeling better. We came home and stayed outside for a bit so that I could get the air and then came in and did lunch. I am feeling much better now!
(I guess M/S can be good but for me it scares me to death. I had it so bad with Alyssa that I spent a lot of time on the floor in the bathroom and in the hospital dehydrated. I couldnt' function at all and it lasted until the day I gave birth. I can't go through another pg like that again)
Kara..the room situation. Tylor has the small room that we just redid for him. It is awesome and he loves it. Alyssa has Tylor's old room which is large. We have not painted yet but that is coming and Alyssa will share a room with the baby. We don't intend to do it very frilly. It will be yellow walls with some poka dots along the top like a boarder. She wanted blue, white, pink and purple but we think if we did that it could be pretty versital and maybe if we end up with a boy this time we can do a blue accent wall!

I'm another one stressed about moving...rumor is that once the aquisition for Scott's company closes, his group will get moved South of Boston, since we live North of Boston, this will be a problem. So, I'm stressed about if we'll have to move down there, or stay here and move to a better school district in this area. What's really stressing me out is the lack of information he is getting. They were supposed to know by April 18th, but on April 17th, they had a meeting and said they would know by May 15th... So we're in a holding pattern and that's stressing me out b/c I don't know what to do about Jackson's school, my job, etc.
Other than that, I'm glad it is Friday...I have a decently fun weekend planned...Bridal Shower tomorrow, date with my husband tomorrow night...and no work!

I'm finishing the final paper in the hardest class in the masters (and doctoral) program. It is INSANE! However, I just received a corrected assignment back and got a 100 on it! :bliss: I looked at my grade and said, "What? Are you kidding? Whether or not I get a new job now or wait till Paige is older :tearhair: I could apply for a new job but if I get it I will have sitter issues :tearhair: I would be making more money but then paying daycare/sitter ..just doesn't make sense..
Nothing planned this weekend..dh is working so it's just me and the girls..I want to go rent a movie tomorrow night for all of us but that's the extend of my planning. I'm not even going to post that I should be cleaning 'cause I know I won't

I got new running shoes - Mizano. The store recommended a few to me based on my flat feet/shin splint issues.

I don't have a lot of stress right now. Up until Wednesday I was pretty stressed about our potential move to the UK, but that disappeared when Alex was informed that they've cancelled the position so he no longer has a job to go to  So that stress has turned to pissed off-ness! It's probably for the best seeming as Cami is now moving back to the US so I wouldn't have had my ready-made friend there anyway

Clare - Sorry things didn't work out with moving. That's frustrating!
Nathaniel isn't feeling well now. :blue: Poor kid!
I might get to meet Nadine this weekend but the details are pretty sketchy still. It's hard because she mostly here for the sabbath. She can't drive during sabbath and her SIL isn't ok with us driving up to see her. I may get to see her for about 5 minutes after sabbath ends tomorrow night but we'll see if it works out.

Nice shoes Alyssa!
That would be so cool if you could meet Nadine, Amanda...I hope something works out!
I'm just sitting in my living room drinking some wine, watching the Red Sox game...so a relaxing night for us. I hosted a playgroup here this morning, then ran errands this afternoon, so it is nice to sit.
And...I think I'm unemployed! I haven't been officially "termed" from the system (which means I still get my discount) but I'm not on the schedule for the near future. I'm going to take the summer off, but then see if I can find something that isn't retail, to do part time...we'll see. I love having my nights and weekends back.

Michele, you don't sound too disappointed about being unemployed. :giggle:
About our potential move, it's back to the US and we'd try to sell the house that we still have there. Some houses in our neighborhood have sold really quickly and others sit forever. We have lots of really nice landscaping (thanks to my dad who has been taking care of it) so it shows much better in the summer. But we're in a subdivision that's still being built so all the existing homes have to compete with new construction, which makes it harder to sell.

Can I just say that I *HATE* my body right now. :mope: Over the past 2 years (since we've been TTC), and ESP. since my last loss in Nov., my AF signs are identical to pg signs....even the weird ones! Nausea, fatigue, sore bb's, skin tags, heartburn, scatterbrained, gloppy yellow cm.....you name it, I have it. :( And this is EVERY cycle since November! Before then, it was sometimes.
So....if AF is coming, she'll be here sometime next week. And I feel like crud on a stick. :dead: And I have to work. :dead: And I can't get my hopes up because AF is probably going to show up and then it'll be all that excitement for nothing!

American music (I've heard this is the best course in the whole program, even all of the whiners loved it) and then Introduction into Music Education where we learn how to write the papers that I've had to write for the last eight classes. Talk about out of sequence.
Then I have the final course, it is a curriculum development course. It is BU's way of not having us write a thesis. I'll be done by Christmas!

I'm not going to get to meet Nadine. :blue: It's just too crazy. I can't talk to her until the sabbath ends around 9:15. I would have to just leave my apartment at that time, find my way to her SIL's house, and hope I get there before they leave for NY. We had a busy but fun day. Eliot had a game at 10:15 but we had to be there at 9:45 for warm up. After the game we went to pick up Eliot's friend Isaac, we went to lunch at Sonic & then to the school where my boss' daughters go b/c they were having a festival, we were there until 3pm!! It was hot but we drank loads of water and more importantly the boys had a GREAT time.
The minute we got home they wanted to run outside again to play in their new playground but they needed a break from the sun so I made them wait until after 5:30, they were counting the minutes/seconds  They have been outside since with only taken about 20 minutes to shovel food in their mouth as fast as possible so they could go outside again

I had a good day! My best friend's bridal shower was this morning. The planning was very annoying and crazy, but it was acutally a lot more fun than I thought. When I got home I played with the kids for a bit. Jackson and I played Hi Ho Cherry-O and Chutes and Ladders, and he beat me (legitimately) every game. Our babysitter came at 7:00 and Scott and I went out to dinner with friends. It was fun! I had a cucumber cosmo, which sounds weird but it was really good and refreshing!

Busch Gardens was AWESOME! I wish their height limits were a tad lower on some of their rides. But she had a great time anyway and was falling asleep in the car on the way home.

I ended up having to go to the OR this morning for an emergency. The timing worked out well since I was already at the hospital checking on our patients. This afternoon we took the kids to an awesome park and playground. They had a blast but it was warmer than I expected and I didn't put sunblock on them (bad mommy!). We ended up leaving since we're all pretty fair-skinned. My au pair is back from vacation and the kids were thrilled to see her!

Ressurecting an old posting party because this doesn't seem worthy of its own thread. But :gah::gah: nonetheless.
When I was taking Maggie to Irish dancing today, I smelled gas when I walked into the garage. I went back into the house, and there was nothing there. Called the gas company because that is what you're supposed to do. They said that if I couldn't be at the house ion 30 minutes to an hour, they were going to shut off my gas. A supervisor then got on the line to explain that if they found a leak at my house or they didn't find a leak anywhere near my house, they would shut it off as a precaution. She said I could call on the way home to get it turned back on.
I just got home. I called on the way home. Gas is off. They thought there was a leak at the meter. The window for repairs is 6-10pm. And they will be knocking on the door. And Stagg is not home tonight. I said forget it for tonight, I'm just not comfortable with strangers at my door after dark with kids in the house.
And as I'm driving down my street, I see about 6 gas trucks, vans and cars 3 houses down. Someone dug into a gas line and they are working to fix it. They talked to the guy who shut my gas off. And apparently, no one put 2+2 together and decided that the gas I smelled was what they were all feverishly working on.
I uderstand that if even if there is a small leak at my meter, it is good that it is going to be fixed. And I am happy about that. But I am still pissy that they couldn't figure out that there was a gas line broken 3 houses away AND that I have to attempt to cook dinner for the kids without the stove, which was not the plan tonight.
:gah::gah::gah::gah::gah::gah:
Thank you, I feel better now.
