WWYD: we have the option to fly to the USA tomorrow BUT ...

So they have these CRAZY deals right now IF you fly from April 23- May 8. The price would be a THIRD of what it would cost in the summer.... and my mom invited us to come!
The big BUT is ... Yehuda's situation at work. He can't take 2 weeks off. And if he were to go for 1 week, his ticket would cost 2x as much as ours. Not sure he can come for 1 week either...
To make a long story short: going abroad now would cause him lots of trouble at work - he thinks. And he is in a business meeting now so I can't even talk to him!
We have the passports and visas. We just need to purchase the tickets.

Would you go alone with 3 kids?
Would you ask him to come for 1 week?
Would you stay home and not go?



What should I do????
I have to decide ASAP since I'd have to organize EVERYTHING for a 2 week stay for 5 people ... within 24 hours.

And in case we are going:
what is the weather like in NY? What kind of clothes do i pack? long sleeved, sweaters coats or summer spring stuff???

I think I would go and have DH stay home if his job situation is like that. You need his job so you can't really ask him to just hope for the best and go. BUT...this is a great opportunity..the kids would love it. I am not sure how long the flight is but I think I would go it. Yumi and Shoham are old enough to really behave for you. Yes you might have your hands full with Moriah at first but I think I would do it :dunno:

I agree with the others - Yehuda has to stay home due to the job, but it's a great opportunity for you and the kids. Yumi is old enough to be a huge help on the flights, and once you're in NY you'll have your family to help you with the kids.

I wouldn't ask him to come, even for a week if it will cause issues. I would go by myself with the kids and have FUN!!!

Not sure about weather, if its similar to ours, spring is up and down. Chilly when the sun goes down but no need for a winter coat.

Ditto everyone else! It is spring in NY so you can have a bit of everything, I'd go with long pants and layers for the top and maybe throw in a pair of shorts for each of the older kids.

:yippee: Nadine!! Where in NY does your mom live? Sorry if you've already said...I'm in south eastern NY (about 1hr. north of NYC) and the weather is finally turning spring-like. I heard that there may be some rain in the middle of this week, but typical spring temps otherwise.

Probably all of the above...though maybe not heavy coats...in the past 2 weeks here we have had 30 degree weather and 80 degree weather.

I am sooo jetlagged. I am dying to sleep and Yumi juat fell asleep ... it is 5 pm... he will wake up in the middle of the night... :)
