Almost all of us likely let the occasional "f-bomb" fly, or swear like a sailor when the driver ahead is going 3 miles an hour in the merge lane. But when/if you try to clean it up because the kids are in hearing distance, what is your favorite curse-word substitute?

I usually replace the f-bomb with fudge or just F.

Freaking
Abby has been old enough for awhile now to know what "bad" words are and likes to tell Roger all time that he says bad words. It is kind of funny for him to get a lecture over using the word hate or stupid :) However, the first time I heard Abby use the word "freaking" I knew I had to do something other than just insert "freak" in place of "fuck" in that even though it is not a bad word per se it still doesnt sound good coming out of a child.

Frick or Frack, but I still let the F-bomb slip on occasion too. I really need to stop that.

Dammit is my favorite swear word and I do say it quite often. I would rather hear my kids say dammit because I know it's going to happen and they will repeat it. If I'm really mad about the driver in front of me while the kids are in the car, I rant about what 'bloody idiots' they are.

I have a whole list.
biscuit - bitch
poop - shit
fark, freak, foof - f bomb
But oddly, dammit just seems to flow. I can't seem to come up with a new one for that. And Aiden knows that one too.

Lately we've been saying "Elmo" for any word we don't want her repeating. :giggle:
Otherwise, I say F or fudge (easy replacement if I've caught myself in the middle of the word), darn, witch, bee with an itch, stuff like that.
Funny story a playgroup mom told me, though. She dropped the f-bomb and her son (2 1/2) said "You say f*ck. I say f*ck." My friend said, "Mommy did a bad thing" and put herself in time out. Far as I know, he has not said it since.

I have a bad potty mouth, too. :shuffle:
My favorite naughty word is the f bomb, so if I'm sanitizing it's usually "frigging" or "freaking." Sometimes it ends up being "f-f-f-f-f-f-f-:scan:-fooey!"

I try to turn f**k into far out, but sometimes the real word slips out :shuffle:
I've heard all my kids mutter "Jesus Christ" under their breath when they're frustrated with something  I'm hoping they don't let that one slip at (catholic) school! :shuffle:

I unfortunately have a disgraceful mouth on me. I let them all fly out with no sugar coating and I desperately need to stop that when I heard Aiden say that his swing set was a "fucking asshole" cause it got tangled  was a really good sign I needed to stop, I am the worst mother ever....
I do say Frickin alot though but that's because I never considered it a replacement, just another word to use
