So, when's the last time you checked your credit report?
I found a neat site that will allow you to check all of your reports from the same place for free, once a year. Take a look. (https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp)

I have never checked mine. I have had no need to, never been denied for anything so I haven't had to see why they said no.
Obviously that's only for US credit reports  I did click on it anyway just out of entertainment and I was banished, told me only ISP's in the US can look at it :snob:

We were just at the banks last week looking into loans so we know ours now, although we've never really been conserned about it.

Very recently because we're in the middle of buying a house! My credit score is lower than I'd like due to our debt situation but still within the acceptable range.

I honestly don't know :dunno: It was probably checked almost 2 yrs ago when we bought our new house, I'm assuming?

Last year sometime. But, I have free credit monitoring for a year since my debit card was involved in the TJ Maxx credit-card # leak back in January or so :dunno:

About a month or two ago, when we were doing the mortgage paperwork for our new house.

Never. Nothing is in my name which I know is sad but I have never needed to check mine. When we bought the house it was better for me not to be involved because of Tylor and his money from my grandfather. The car DH bought for me and again I wasn't part of it

I checked ours about a year ago on that very site. :aok: I can't remember exactly when, but I think it's been long enough that I can check again.

Had to check all of mine over the summer when I was accidentally an idiot and threw away my Social Security and health insurance cards when I got a new wallet.

About 15-18 months ago when we moved to Virginia, I had a few things taken off that were my parent's bills, but that's it. I keep meaning to look again.

I check it quite often - we've had false things on it before that were causing problems. We have credit monitoring, so I get an email every time something changes on it.

I think in Canada you have to pay to check your report :dunno: I've never checked it myself..I have a feeling mine alone isn't so good, when I bought my car I had to get Tony to co sign and when we were shopping around for house insurance I called one company and left my name so they can do their "stuff" then call me back with a quote, when they didn't I called them and the woman said they were going to pass on giving me a quote, when I asked why she told me they had the right to do so based on credit info  but had I given dh's name I bet she would have been drooling and kissing my feet

To check for fraud? Identity theft?
I just checked mine in February using that same site :aok:

I was just thinking of checking ours when I read an article in a magazine.
Thanks Karly!

I have credit monitoring through myfico.com...it's like $8.00/month or something and you can set alerts to warn you of changes on your report.

That's scary, Michele.
We just watched an episode of Dateline where they showed how easy it was to steal someone's identity and how they do it, step by step. I am so paranoid now :errr:

To check for fraud? Identity theft?
:dunno: nope. It's never been something I have ever been aware of to worry about. Plus we don't have the same kind of credit rating system you guys have. We don't have scores of where we are sitting depending on debt etc. The only time a person here would ring up to check what is going on with their credit report is if they get denied and they want to know what black mark was put against their name and how they can clear it. I know my sister had to do it once becuase of a charge from the phone company she never paid. But I have NEVER known anyone else to do it.
I also don't think that it would tell you about charges in your name as well, I have never heard of that before. It only tells you of "bad credit" where you haven't paid for something.

I don't think there's any such thing here (not fraud or identity theft, we have that unfortunately, I mean online credit checks).
Our bank calls us with any suspicions of fraud. Just the other day they called to say there was an odd charge of $3 something on one of our credit cards, so the card was cancelled and reissued. That's the 3rd time it's happened, our banks seem to be on top of it.
