Ben's naps are 45 min tops. I'm not used to this. My other two took long naps. I can't get much done around here. as soon as I start something Ben wakes up. Any one been through this? Will he eventually nap longer ar do you think this is just how he is?

Well I can't contribute as the mom because I don't have one that young anymore but as a Nanny I deal with it a lot. Hannah was born Nov 17, 2006. She does not want to get on any sort of schedule at all and seems to try and take cat naps instead of nice big naps. I have been working really hard to get her to get a good nap in so she is a happier baby while she is here. Some days seem to go over well and others..well she will have no part in it but I figure that it is the age as well as me only getting her two days a week and being the only one to follow through with the schedule.
I think if you just work to be very consistant and try and find the best times for him to nap that hopefully he will adjust to larger naps :hug99:

When Jacob took 2 or 3 naps in a day, they were usually about 45 min. long. Now that he's down to one nap, it's usually... an hour long. And that's one hour give or take a few minutes from being put in his crib awake, until I hear him crying. He's generally a happy kid, and a longer nap does mean he has a harder bedtime, so I guess that's just all he needs. :dunno:

Riley used to do this, it would take him forever to get to sleep then when he was it was only short spurts, it drove me insane, after about a year of dealing with it I finally did something about it and started going into his room and starting the sleeping routine process again, after doing this for a few days he started to sleep for longer periods of time. It didn't always work, but it did help. The key was not being too disruptive, no lights on, no picking up, just re-wrapping, blanket, pats and hushing.
I know how frustrating it is, I hope you can figure something out soon :hug99:

Krishan would only nap for 20 minutes for most of the first year of his life. Drove me batty! When he was older, though, they started to lengthen out to normal amounts.
Hang in there!

Thanks! Ben is very happy through out the day. He was doing great during the night, going 5-6 hours. Now he is going 2-3....ugggg! I'm trying to get him to go back to sleep without nursing. I'll only nurse him if he wakes up 3.5-4 hours after his last feeding. It is rough....I'm exhausted!
