It's been a rough year for my SIL. This time last year she was in a PhD program for molecular biology that was NOT suited to her. She wound up leaving it and moving back in with her dad. She took a couple grad school classes this past fall, and she applied to a bunch of PhD programs again. Her only interview was at University of Texas at Austin, a place she only applied because she has a friend there and her friend recommended the program. All other schools either rejected her or she never heard back from them. So she had a lot riding on this school. The interview went really well and she really liked the school and the area.
Apparently the school liked her too because she just found out she got in!!!! :woo:
I'm sad she has to move so far away, but it's great to see her happy again and back on track.
Looks like Miss Sarah's first plane ride isn't too far in the future.
