Today DH and I went to a new gyno that is supposed to be really good. I planned on going to him to get pg and then go back to my regular gyn. OMG I love this doctor and do not think that I will be changing back. I went to the appt thinking that I would be going to out in an hour. We eneded up leaving 2 hours later!!

We started in the exam room and he did our history and talked to DH and I about our records that he had then had me change to do the exam. The craziest thing was when he was talking with us and asked what DH did. Daniel told him that he was a deputy sheriff in Springfield. Warning TMI but he had already put the speculum in and starts telling a joke to DH about cops. I just laid there thinking about the situation and trying not to laugh. Anyway he finished the exam and I change and we go in his office. He comes in and we talk and he wants DH to get another s/a done, me to start Glucophage and we start 100mgs of Clomid next cycle. Since I have not had a period since Dec 22nd, he told me that he would give me a sample pack of a med to get me started. We go to the nurse's desk and he tells me he is going to get the sample and will be right back and asks the nurse to call the lab to get the instructions for the s/a for DH. Dr. Stitt comes back with a purple canvas bag that has "Ob Gyn Associates and the dr's names on the side filled with boxes. He gave me a 12 day supply of prometrium to start my period, Daniel got a 3 week supply of Precare Conceive male/ female vitamins that are supposed to "help promote healthy spermatogenesis and sperm viability", and me a 6 week supply of PreCare prenatals along with each of us a prescription for each. We were told to go to the lab in the main part of the hospital.
We walk over to the hospital and are told to ask for a specific person. He takes us to his office and talked to us about the s/a and what they do to control the environment about it. They pre-registered Daniel for next week and set up his appt. Daniel thought that he was wonder and that I should consider keeping him as my primary. I had already thought of it, the only thing holding me back is the fact that he is an hour from our house in the opposite way of my work. But the more I think about it, with my blood pressure being high, I will probably end up on bedrest so that is not an issue really. I think that he is just wonderful!! I am so excited and have a really good feeling about it.
Just wanted to update everyone on my appt and I can't wait for Kim ( Kimberly) to go see him!

I'm so glad you found a proactive dr Tricia! It's nice to have someone who actually shows interest in your care and not just as a "case" Good luck with everything.

And I'm happy that you are going to a new dr too, Kim! Ali totally needs a baby to love on!

Okay another update...
Called the dr's office Thursday to get Daniel's s/a results. Last year about this time, Daniel had two done and got crappy results,10 and 12 million count abnormal, 0% chance of penetrating an egg. In August he went again and had another one, again crappy count ( I think 7 or 9 million), all abnormal, no motility/ morphology, again 0% chance of penetrating an egg. Well Sept he changed jobs- went from working in a machine shop making plastic boat parts in a factory setting to night shift as a commissioned officer in our sheriff's dept. So I call....
The nurse calls me back and tells me that Daniel's count is 25 million and all are normal!!! They are not stupid boys after all!! I started crying immediately b/c I was so excited that his count has doubled almost tripled! The dr put him on antibiotics to be on the safe side and see if the white blood cells are hindering. We go back in 2 weeks and he has another analysis to see if it has changed. I am happy right now b/c they said that we may not have to do IVF after all and that IUI may work. This has completely made my Easter.

Just wanted to give an update.

That is wonderful news Tricia!! And Kim... I'm happy to see you again! :)

Tricia, I also went to a Gyn who was 1 1/2 hours from my house in Maryland who helped me get pg. No one ever thought I was nuts, even though I had to drive straight into the heart of DC to get to him. It was always a PITA to see him, but well worth the trip, IMO.

Good luck! I hope you'll keep us updated!

That is so wonderful that you will get to do the IUI instead of IVF. Caden was concieved with an IUI
