Hmm.. maybe like a 12 hr day. Matt has no problem being home alone with Brookelyn. But then again she's such a good and easy kid and there is only 1 of her!!
What's the longest you've been in charge of your kids with no help?
Just the normal day to day stuff like when Matt is at work or out to a business meeting. He hasn't had to travel for work yet.

Last year I left David alone from early Friday until Sunday afternoon when I went on the scrap retreat. He's also my nanny while I'm at work, so he's alone with them from 8:30 am until 2:00 pm every day except Fridays.
David usually stays pretty close to home, but my ex-husband traveled constantly for work, so I've been at home alone with Kaleb and Jacob with no help for weeks at a time, and that was when we had no money, 1 car, no internet etc. AH, good times

What is the longest that your spouse has been in charge of your kids solo/with no one to help? Maybe half a day? 3/4 of a day? Only when I've gone out with friends or met people to scrap.
What's the longest you've been in charge of your kids with no help? Nearly a week when he went to Las Vegas last year for a conference.

You had to have known someone was going to have to jump on this and say this is precisely why you need to go to the scrap retreat.

What is the longest that your spouse has been in charge of your kids solo/with no one to help? I guess it was the 4 days when I was in hospital having Sam.
What's the longest you've been in charge of your kids with no help? About a week. I don't think he's gone away for longer then 6 or 7 days.

What is the longest that your spouse has been in charge of your kids solo/with no one to help? A little more than 24 hours - when I went to Vermont with friends last year. He was also alone when I was in the hospital having my gall bladder out for about the same amount of time. My Mom helped him a lot that time though. I was in the hospital for 2 days having Anna, but he had lots of help then too...
What's the longest you've been in charge of your kids with no help? A week, when he was traveling on business...it was just Jackson then though, and my Mom did babysit for an evening so I could get away for a bit.

I realy don't know how to answer this with "no help" being involved. My family often helps out when one of us is traveling, though not the whole time or anything like staying with us. The longest I've traveled for work is 6 days, and Joe's been gone for about 3 weeks. The majority of that time we're on our own, but my family will pitch in for a day/night off and on during that time.

Keith has taken Aaron overnight to places like Chicago for 2 days while I stayed home (and liked it! ).
The longest I've been alone with Aaron was 11 days. I didn't like that so much.

Phil's only been with the kids for a few hours. I think this past Saturday was his longest while the kids were awake--he had them from 4 until 9. Most of the time when I go out it's after the kids are in bed, so it was kinda nice to have him take care of both of them during waking hours.
The longest he's been away with just Riley was a week while he was out of town for work, but Riley and I hung out at my parents' for the entire time. Otherwise it's just been a night or two on my own.
gulp!

We've each been gone a max of a week. Neither one of us had any help other than our nanny working her regular hours during the day while we worked. It's definitely not so fun.

Mary was alone with the kids for about 6 days when I went to Chicago for a business trip. The longest for me is coming up - Mary is leaving tomorrow to visit her sister and coming back on Monday.

When Tylor was 1 I went to Myrtle Beach for 4 days with friends. Dan had Tylor except for when he was at school and Ty was with his mom (But that was normal anyhow since I was in college) It was spring break for me. Dan also had Ty alone when I went to Denver from Thursday through Monday. Not sure if he has ever had Alyssa alone with no help for long because I just don't go anywhere. He has had her for the day and such I guess.
I have had the kids alone for a long period of time. Dan was in China for three weeks and I went to NJ with Alyssa alone and IN with Alyssa alone (I guess Dan had Ty alone during those trips to  )
I have no problems leaving the kids with Dan. He is an awesome dad. I just don't ever go anywhere without them :dunno:

Jason had them Thurs afternoon through Sunday night when I went to Oklahoma and then same time frame when I went to Chicago.
I've had them 6 days on my own without him.

Eric - Maybe a few hours - long enough for me to see a movie.
Me - With both kids, I think probably a 4 day business trip. He'll be gone for a week in March. I am so not looking forard to it. :blue:

Tony - 5 days when I was in hospital when I had Jacob. With all 3 boys it was about 7 hours one night when I went out with friends.
Me - 3 days when he went away for a motor biking weekend with his mates.

What is the longest that your spouse has been in charge of your kids solo/with no one to help?
Every month he watches her when I go to a crop for about 8-10 hours each time
What's the longest you've been in charge of your kids with no help?
Just overnight while he was gone for a business trip. Probably 6am one morning to 6 or 7pm the next day. There was one night when he was out of town that Amelia just wouldn't go to sleep. I tried everything short of letting her CIO & we were both up until 4 am

Blair ~ He had to take care of Eliot when I was in the hospital after having Ian (c-section). I don't think he's had both of the kids by himself more than a few hours.
Me ~ I had both of the kids by myself more than a few times, the longest has been about a week and a half. Hmmm, maybe it's time for ME to take a little vacation by MYSELF :chin:

DH-I have never left dh alone with the kids for more than a couple of hours.
Me- he has been gone for 3 days before. He doesn't have to travel for a job so he is hardly ever gone unless he goes to a Men's conference.

What is the longest that your spouse has been in charge of your kids solo/with no one to help? 4 days last month when I went to Atlanta. He's a SAHD so he has them all day every day too.
What's the longest you've been in charge of your kids with no help? 4 days several times and coming up again this July.

hmm, DH was in charge of Janelle the whole time I was in the antepartum unit with Kincaid...so like 3 weeks? But he brought her in to see me for a few hours every day, so maybe like 20 hours at a time?
I've had the kids alone for 12 hours pretty frequently, but I am not sure I've ever been alone with them for longer than that. DH did go to utah for a week when Janelle was 5 or 6 months old, but I stayed with my mom during that time.

What is the longest that your spouse has been in charge of your kids solo/with no one to help?
He has kept her home with him if he does not have school. That is about the longest, maybe 10 hours?
What's the longest you've been in charge of your kids with no help?
A week to 9 days. I have taken a couple trips with her to my parents without Dave (for family wedding and my sister's graduation). While ther were others there, at that age it was not that much help. I may have had someone holding her for 1/2 hour or so, but it was up to me for everything else.

Chris - both when I was in Austin and Atlanta --it was Thursday thru Sunday (4 full days). Though he always seems to get help, whether he asks or not. People (neighbors, his parents) think he's incapable
Me - 6 days this past year when Chris was in CA. It sucked. I had no help. Did I say it sucked?

Ken - 23 hours last winter when I went to my SIL's baby shower out of town. I wish I could have stretched it out longer, but no luck!!
Me - I think the longest thus far has been 18 or 19 days. He's away every other week, with days sometimes added on for training and such. It sucks BIGTIME. My mom is around the corner and can help a little bit (I mean maybe an hour or two a week if I have to make an appt., but that's it). It's not that she doesn't WANT to help, but at 78, she has a hard time keeping up with my kids.

What is the longest that your spouse has been in charge of your kids solo/with no one to help? With Ben, I'm pretty sure I was gone the greater part of a week for business (he was in day care during the day). With both kids, the longest will be this weekend - I fly out Friday night and get back really late Tuesday night
What's the longest you've been in charge of your kids with no help? Nathan travels a good bit, but the longest was when he was in Munich last year for 6 days. It was doubly difficult because of the time difference - we weren't able to talk on the phone a whole lot.

4 days, I sometimes travel for business. He does fine and why shouldn't he??? He's their dad. It creates long days at daycare for the kids due to his long work hours, but it doesn't happen very often.
I guess it would be 2 days when DH is out on business travel but he works so long each day anyway that what's 48 hours compared to the 13 hours he's gone each day.
