We're starting the process of hiring someone to put in a lawn and possibly do some minimal landscaping. Right now our yard is rough-graded dirt, so we need some grading, topsoil, etc.

Anyone know about lawns and have some advice on things to watch out for or suggestions on how to get apples-to-apples bids? I hate spending a wad of money on something I know so little about.
