I got a new vacuum today and I just have to share in my joy. It's pathetic that I get so much happiness out of seeing my carpet all pretty and clean.
Btw, it's a Dyson, the sort of teal colored one. I got it on ebay for less than I paid for our piece of crap vacuum a year ago!

I don't have a dyson but would love one. I bet it is so wonderful. I actually like to vacuum so a good vacuum is a must!

Just what I wanted to hear! DH got a gift card to circuit city and I just ordered a Dyson! (Can't spend a gift card on bills, right...therefore...no guilt issues) I can't wait to go get it tonight!
Congrats on the vaccuum, Cami!

John will actually vaccuum with the Dyson  Of course, we have concrete floors in our house and only have a big rug to vacuum, but the hose attachment is nice

Dyson love fest. And I should point out, this is a used one but it seems to work great! Ok, maybe someone can help me.... it appears that part of the handle detaches to use on stairs and whatnot. I only know this because it was shipped detached and I somehow popped it onto the base to assemble it. But now I can't detach it. Is there a button that detaches it? Or did I attach it wrong and now it's stuck?
And I've already watched a demo on the dyson website to show how it works but I'm still stuck.
Did I break the freaking thing on day 1?

squeeze the front part of the base of the handle, by where it connects into the bucket part (I dunno if that made any sense  ) YOu should then be able to just pull up on the handle part and the hose attachment comes loose.

Ah, Shanna, thanks! Yes that made sense and it did work! I must have attached it wrong the first time. I sort of popped it straight in and I think it's supposed to slide down over the base. Thank you!!

Okay, I got my Dyson....can I just say I am disgusted with how filthy my carpets are?! I ran the old vaccuum and then went over it with the Dyson. ICK ICK and ICK! Who knew I lived in a pigsty (or a dog house!)

Brandi, that's what I thought too. There was so much dirty fuzzy stuff in our floors!
Oh and Stef, I'll cave on another cheapie Christmas tree if it's this easy to pick up the needles!
