View Full Version : Morning Routine MGengler January 10th, 2007, 08:39 PM Hi:) I was wondering what everybody does for their morning routines and how long it takes to get out the door in the morning? Bridget January 10th, 2007, 10:06 PM For a newborn or young infant? Or for older kids? It made a difference for us. Right now we have a 1 and 3 year old. Fortunately, the 3 year old is fairly sufficient, so if he gets up early he watches The Wiggles or something until we get dressed. My daughter often sleeps in a bit more, so we wait to get her until it's time to dress. We either each take a kid to dress them OR if one person has misc. stuff to do the other person does it all. It was harder when my son was little because he woke early and then was into everything while we were trying to get ready. Luckily we don't have that problem right now. We both work and we have a fair commute so we have the benefit of the kids usually not getting up before they "need" to. For all of us to get ready and loaded into the cars takes about hour. When we had one child it *still* seemed to take about an hour. The kids do eat breakfast in the car (fruit, peanut butter is typical), but if my husband wakes early he'll cook something for them to eat, such as egg and cheese sandwiches, which they both love. shasta January 16th, 2007, 12:42 AM My kids are 8 years old and 5 months old. I get up between 4-6 a.m. DD2 is usually awake by 6:00. I get dressed, then feed the baby (she doesn't usually want a bottle when she first wakes up), then get her dressed. By the time I have myself and DD2 ready for the day, DD1 is getting up for school. She gets up at 7:00. DD1 gets her own breakfast (usually cereal, she's not much of a breakfast person) and gets ready for school without much dawdling or anything. Sometimes I have to "light a fire under her", that's rare, though. DD1 has to be at her bus stop by 8:40, she's always ready long before that. |
