Ok, so I am all about griping lately.

I just got back from the doctors w/ both girls. Rayna is a mess. Her nose is disgusting. Both ears have fluid in them and are bulging like crazy. Thankfully, despite having a cough, it has not gone into her chest. Harper woke up this morning w/ a weeping eye and a spectacular case of thrush. The doctor also told me that she has fluid in her right ear. Not infected, but it is there.

The girls were just sick a month ago. Rayna was given and antibiotics and ear drops b/c her eardrum ruptured and she was sick sick sick. The first antibiotic did nothing so they called in omnicef and she did that for ten days. I don't really feel like she ever totally kicked it.

Harper had an ear infection a month ago. She was on a nebulizer plus antibiotics for ten days. I know the ears cleared up b/c she was given the all clear at her 4 month appt.

But OMG, this constantly having to go to the doctor and be on meds is just the pits!!! SEems like we are always doing the antibiotic dance, trying to figure out what is going to work. Rayna is back on vantin, which works well but you have to give it two times a day and it tastes like crap. Try giving that to a whiny child in the morning right after they wake up because you need to get it down before you leave for work. SUCKS.

Sigh. I know I am bitching. Please come and bitch with me. It will make me feel so much better.

Well, the worst I have here is Mason's runny nose and Graham's runny nose and fever which seems to be under control.

Plenty of :hug99: and :getwell: for you!

Sandy :hug99:

I swear, there are some super-duper freaking viruses and bacteria making their rounds. One of my friend's kids (6mo) had a double raging EI and after being on omicef for 2 weeks, he was screaming and throwing up and went to urgent care, only to find out that the antibiotic did nothing for him and it was 10x worse.
Norah had her first EI about 2 or so weeks ago (double) and its back and she's a gloopy, snotty mess on top of it all. And we're all sick w/ her. Seriously...WTF?

So anyway...I am sorry :hug99: I hope the girls are healthy again soon.

I'm sorry too Sandy!

We're there with you at the moment. This was pretty much my life last winter/spring - Jackson had an EI that just wouldn't go away. We just kept trying different antibiotics to see which one worked, until finally it was decided that he needed tubes. Now we are just over 6 months post tube placement, one is completely blocked, the other partially blocked and he has a raging EI. Scott, Anna and I all have colds too. Fun stuff!

Hang in there, I know you have a lot on your plate at the moment. :bighug:

I'm sorry Sandy!
I'm right there with you! During my week off Nathaniel drained pus from his right ear (yes, he just had tubes placed the day before Thanksgiving) and was started on ear drops. He has a horrid cold with a runny nose and a cough. Jessica got pink eye and is now on eye drops. She also has a horrid cold.
I swear that both my kids have had non-stop colds since starting daycare in April. Jessica just got over bad diarrhea which took her out of daycare for a week. The day before my holiday vacation, Nathaniel was sent home sick with a fever (that was start of the ear pus). Lovely. It. Never. Ends.
Hang in there girlie! If you find a solution, please let me know!

I was cleaning out "Owen's cabinet" where we keep all his sippy cups etc and found 16 medicine syringes that all came from antibiotic prescriptions. He just turned 2.

:( Hope the boogers go away quickly at your house. We give Saxon vitamins to try to keep him healthy. :dunno: Not sure how well it works but we try.

Just wanted to note this for future reference. Rayna finished up her vantin on Monday 1/8. She woke up this morning w/ a stuffy nose. Just want to see where this takes us and if/when we have to put her back on meds.
