Today Salem is on a 2 hour Delay for the weather. We got a lot of snow and I am sure they think that in 2 hours the roads will be better. However...we have never received info on how to do a 2 hour delay. I don't know if Alyssa has school (I am guessing not) I think that I just put Tylor out for the bus Exactly 2 hours after I would have. :dunno:
Do your schools have 2 hour delays. How are they handled?

Jayne, you have it right, take the time that your child normally goes to the bus stop and add two hours. Most likely if the roads are still a little tricky (but not bad enough to cancel school), the bus will be a little late. However, if the roads are clear by then, it could be a bit early.
I'm guessing the Alyssa is in morning kindergarten? If so, then she most likely won't have school, but if it is an all day kindergarten, I think she will.

Thanks Melissa. She is in preschool from 8:30 - 11 which means she would get there at 10:30 for all of a 1/2 hour so I figure there is no school for her.

I saw yours today and I said "we never did that when I was there" LOL.
For us, Josh gets the bus at 8:15 so now it will come at 10:15. We just got a newsletter for Austin this week that said if our schools cancel or go to 2 hr delay, the preschool cancels for the entire day.

Tylor gets on at 8:05 so that means 10:05 for him then I guss. I am not sure I want him on the bus but at the same time I don't want to drive either. I have to drop off food at the church for a funeral but that is only down the street ...I don't know

Jayne, too late now, :) but our preschool canceled too if it's a 2 hour delay or closed. I think they went on as usual if it was a 1 hour delay. And the school bus did the same thing but two hours later.

If there is a storm then the bus company's contact all local tv/radio stations they don't do a delay they cancel the service for the whole day, normally if the bus is cancelled then so is school.

Can you believe they had preschool. The dumb teacher said "I didn't know they were on Delay" Well it was all over the radio and TV and the Director has two children in school :duh: I am so mad that she missed school. I wonder how many showed up.

When my oldest two were in preschool they didn't go on the days that "regular" school schedules were behind 2 hours. It just wasn't worth it to me to drive them and pick them up an hour or so later.
