This morning I went in to get Dylan and I found him on his stomach! :owow: It freaked me out a little bit because he can roll from his tummy to his back also but not all that well. Also, we are still swaddling him because he sleeps much better that way, although he usually breaks at least one arm out.

Besides being onhis stomach he was 180 degrees from where he was laid down and at the other end of the crib. Think he moves in his sleep a bit?! I swear if there was a way he could turn himself inside out he would.

Is he too big for a sleep positioner? Should I start weaning him off the swaddle? Anyone elses kid do this? What did you do?

I kept Anya in the sleep postioner until about 6 months when she was very good at flopping to her belly as well as back again. She was able to do both during the day, but not as well while sound asleep.

Hmmm. I think once Graham figured out he could sleep on his tummy, that's all he started doing. It freaked me a bit since Mason never slept on his tummy and still doesn't. If they have good neck control and can turn over then they are fine to sleep the way they want. I think I stopped using the sleep positioner when he could roll over.

Now, after he starts getting drowsy, Graham will flip right over to his tummy and put his arms straight down underneath him too. :screwy: It's quite strange and I can't imagine it's comfortable but it seems to work for him.

I never used a sleep positioner, but I think if Dylan can roll, you might want to stop using it. JMO. Jeremy loves sleeping on his tummy--it's the only way he'll sleep. He started off as a side sleeper, and then just ended on his tummy. It's so cute to see him sometimes with his hands under his head and his little butt up in the air.

As for the swaddling, both my kids hated it, so we stopped doing it by the time they were a month old. Sorry I'm no help there.

Emma favoured her side at the beginning so as soon as she could roll I found her on her stomach. I was worried and for days would go in and turn her over several times a night only to go back and find her on her tummy. I tired the sleep positioner and she manged to get out of it in less than 10 minutes. After that, I figured that if she could get out of the position that she would be fine. To this day, she is a tummy sleeper. Christine is now following the same suit. She definately favours her side to her back and I have a feeling will be a tummy sleeper.

Like Darcy, Emma hated swaddling and now I am going through the same thing with Christine.

Kincaid without fail rolled over every single time we put him on his back from before he was a week old! It scared me to death, since he wasn't rolling from back to stomach yet and though he had good neck/head control for a newborn, he was still a newborn...

We tried sleep positioners and such and none of them worked, he could roll out of anything.

He was ok though, but I was definitely nervous about it...now at 2 1/2 he is still swaddled to sleep about 25% of the time, and he still sleeps on his tummy 100% of the time.
