View Full Version : Group Journal?

Just wondering how many of you ladies would like to start a group journal for SAHM's? I think I need help with motivation... I have my own list of priorities and if I had other people to be accountable to for meeting my goals on a daily/weekly basis it might help me stay on track. For example... my priorities are in this order right now... 1) the girls 2) me 3) DH 4) the house... So... for example... maybe my goals for today would be
1) a) Introduce a new pretend play game to Zoe, read her the new babybug magazine that came in, and do one art project
b) Give Ellie some tummy time and play peek a boo with her and make sure she gets a bath today
2) Work out this morning and take a bubble bath later in the day with a magazine
3) Heh heh... sort of got that one out of the way already today  But maybe later this evening watch a movie together
4) Besides the usual every day stuff that has to be done.... like clean ups after each meal and planning each meal... Get all laundry done and put away.

WE could be a support system for each other here... put down our weekly or daily goals and come here to write if the goals were met... if not, what happened... frustrations with WHY they weren't met, etc... Something like that.

Anyone else interested? If so, we can start it in another thread... just trying to get some feedback here.

Sounds good to me, too, although my list might be something like this for a while:
1. Survive
2. Survive
3. Survive

Wow, you're way more organized about it than I am, Jen, but I'd be willing to participate!

Cool :) I'll try to start it tonight. I think my need to do this has to do with my profession (and not doing it anymore! ) I'm an early intervention speech therapist... so I am used to "working" with kids... Somehow I feel like I'm just not doing what I *should* be doing if I don't sit down with each of them once a day and do productive play... make sense? But I also am going crazy b/c I'm finding it so hard to keep the rest of the house running smoothly too... I feel like if I just have a place to go report back it might keep me motivated to get things done every day.

I also agree with the SURVIVE goal... Especially with the 8 week old... I'm guessing things SHOULD get a lot easier and more manageable once we hit the 3 month mark. We'll see.

I'm also interested. If I'm made accountable to someone other than myself, I'm usually pretty compliant.

I think this would be great! And, I know what you mean about productive play...I feel bad if I don't spend some time each day singing or doing nursery rhymes or something with Katie--even though she's perfectly happy just to be cuddled.

I agree - this would be great. I have the same problem. All day I have felt incredibly guilty b/c I don't feel like I get enough done during the day! I need someone to be accountable to!

Woo Hoo :) I'm glad so many of you are game! It will be great to come be accountable every day. I think it will help keep me on my toes  I started the journal... please go post there and we'll get started.

Anne (TtowneAnne) Sure, I can talk to you about toddler stuttering. How old? When was onset? Okay... maybe it'd be best to just pm with you :) I'll do that now.
