This morning when I was lying in bed, Graham brought me a bag of dog food. Then he left and returned with the plastic measuring cup. He made his sign for please so I filled up the cup. He left and I could hear him fill the dish with the food. He returned for the bag and left again. He had filled up the dog dish and put the cup and the dog food away when he was done! :aok:

Also, Graham likes to help me and I like that when I ask him to do something (get a cloth, put the dish away, push his chair to the table) he will. Unlike his brother!

That's so sweet.

Riley told Phil last night that she just wanted to cuddle with him when he got home. With the crappy week he had, it made him smile. And she's just so good with her brother, always giving him toys to play with and saying, "Don't cry, buddy. Everything's fine." I swear, this SAHM thing sure is hard some days, but hearing the things she says and watching her enjoy her brother are moments I'm never going to forget. Especially since I know it won't all be like this--especially when he starts getting mobile and grabbing for everything. :)

How sweet, Bev and Darcy! Lynn, I agree, sleeping kids are angelic.:love2:

Top of the list: kid giggles.

When I hold a door open or let someone in line in traffic and they say or wave "thanks." (how sad that it's so infrequent that when it happens I'm pleased, huh? :() Also, when someone lets me into a line of traffic. (I always wave. ;))

Getting a card in the mail from my granny.

My Real Simple magazine arriving in the mail.

Ooh, Nichole--those are good ones. I totally agree on people saying "thanks" when driving.

And you made me think of one more. When my 89-year-old grandpa takes time out of his day to just call us and say hi.

I can think of many, all of them related to my sweet family...

~When Eliot calls Ian - "little one"
~When I hear my kids giggle.
~When I hear Blair talking to Eliot about something (trains, planes, weather, etc) and Eliot asks questions about it, I know it makes Blair feel so proud to teach the boys about all kinds of things and have them actually learn something.
~When I see my sleeping babies or I peek on them and they're playing or chatting nicely enjoying each other's company.
~When I see my 3 boys (DH & 2 kiddos) together and see what a wonderful relationship they have and the love they have for each other.
~ When we all cuddle together to watch a movie (family or other) eating popcorn, one of our favorite snacks
~ When the boys make funny faces, noises, comments and they know they're being funny
~ And the last one I can think of is... Ian is learning the "If you're happy and you know it..." song at school so lately he will grab our face and ask with a smilie on his face "Are you happy, Mommy (Daddy, Eliot)?" and then when you ask him back he giggles
~ One last one, when the boys hold Grandpa's hand (DH dad) while walking, I know it fills Grandpa's heart with joy! The only thing is that everytime that happens Blair gets all teary eyed and then I look at him and I get all teary eyed too :giggle:

Okay, I'm done... for now :shuffle:

Big hugs from my kids!
Watching my kids sleep.
Listening to Nathaniel sing.
The smile on Jessica's face as she watches Nathaniel act silly.
When Nathaniel gives Jessica a big hug.
Having nice, cute kids in my office!

Yeah, I thought we get annoyed by the random things but there are also lots of random things that make us smile.

-the dog's reaction when I come home
-seeing an elderly couple holding hands
-babies
-rainbows
-getting a wave in traffic, which as Nichole mentioned is very rare!

Come to my neighborhood if you're looking for kind drivers. Everyone is waving, saying thanks, and flashing their lights constantly! I swear in the 10 minutes it takes to get Aubrey to preschool, I probably get (and give) 25 thanks/waves/flashes (flashes  ).

Our streets are so narrow that you constantly have to pull over to let oncoming cars by. And there's no stop signs or stop lights so you have to rely on generosity to get through intersections.

I agree with Bev:

* old people holding hands
* getting a wave in traffic

and:
* seeing my kids smile at each other, or better yet, hold hands or hug
* that first sip of coffee in the morning

I love hearing Aaron say, "Mommy, you're the BEST!"

I love waking up before the rest of the house does so I can have a few extra moments of peace.

I love watching my dog Jenna's tail wag. She was abused and they cut her tail off  so she has a little nub that wags up and down instead of side to side. It still makes me smile after nearly 4 years!

When Aaron naps I like to tidy up the house. The 10 minutes it stays clean makes me happy. How sad is that?

I like getting emails from friends that I have't talked to in awhile. I especially like it when they say, "I saw X today and it made me think of the time you and I did Y together. Remember that?" I just like it that they have good memories of me like I do of them. :)
