What is everyone up to this weekend?
Alysia

I'm not doing shit this weekend and it feels damn good! :peace:

November 9th, 2006, 11:47 PM
Tonight we don't really have any plans, we will probably just hang at home, have a few drinkies and play cards or watch a movie :dunno: will have to wait for Tony to get home (which is a whole other story right now  ) to figure that one out.
Tomorrow (Sat) in the morning we have to take Jacob for his Meningococcal injection and get his constantly blocked nose looked at, and Aidens skin condition looked at. Then at midday the boys are going to a 4th Birthday party at a play centre. Tomorrow night no plans of yet either, maybe some friends will come over.
Sunday is a continued spring cleaning day, we need to sort out Jacobs room and get the rest of the things we are getting rid of pictured and lodged on eBay.

I wish it was Friday at 4PM here!
MrsPeacefrog
November 9th, 2006, 11:51 PM
Now that I have written that we are going to a 4yr olds birthday party I just realised that I haven't bought a present for him yet! EEK! I don't know if I will have time in the morning, I am going to have to though. The only thing I have in the house is a bob the builder PJ set I bought for another friends son. Is that dodgy?
Alysia
November 9th, 2006, 11:53 PM
Hey the other friend will never know!
 I call it smart. When is the other gift to be given? Do you have plenty of time to replace it?
bunybomb
November 9th, 2006, 11:55 PM
Is that dodgy?
Deb, please explain what dodgy means?

November 9th, 2006, 11:56 PM
Alysia, I love ya girl, but not enough to actually do something on the weekend that I don't have to do shit!
MrsPeacefrog
November 9th, 2006, 11:57 PM
The other present doesn't have to be posted off till atleast Tuesday so I will have time to replace it
:lol2: Becky. Dodgy is Aussie slang for something that is a bit Iffy or not on the level.
MrsPeacefrog
November 9th, 2006, 11:59 PM
Alysia, I will come and help, but you will have to pay for the airfare! what do you think? Deal?
Joan
November 10th, 2006, 12:00 AM
Oh-- and I bet you can guess what I am doing this weekend!
:heee:
What? What did i miss?
It is Thursday evening here. Tomorrow is a day off! I'm hoping to take the family to the beach. pete is not into the beach at all, but jakob and I have been going almost every weekend (just for an hour or so) and it has been good fun!

My new word for the weekend. I will have all the american peeps confused. Thanks for the education Deb!
MrsPeacefrog
November 10th, 2006, 12:02 AM
Sounds nice, Joan. I can't wait till the boys are older so we can do the beach more often, right now I can't handle the mouthfull of sand that Jacob gets and Aiden hates getting sand in his swimmers so it's always a drama
bunybomb
November 10th, 2006, 12:04 AM
Leave the boys with Tony and head for the sand girl!
MrsPeacefrog
November 10th, 2006, 12:05 AM
Go forth and spread the good word Becky. It's a great word and you will find many uses for it :awink:
You can also add brothers onto the end of it when describing a business. So if a store doesn't do something right by you, they are now called "Dodgy Brothers."
Clare
November 10th, 2006, 12:11 AM
Is it Friday already? I've lost most of the week under a mountain of puke and poop :dead: The boys are finally better though, evidenced by the amount of fighting going on  I on the other hand am feeling decidedly dodgy. I'm guessing the toilet bowl is going to be my best friend this weekend :puke:

November 10th, 2006, 12:15 AM
Good use of the word 'dodgy', you Aussie babe!
I hope you don't get it too Clare.

Bonnie
November 10th, 2006, 12:46 AM
Sorry you are sick, Clare... I hope you feel better soon.
Dodgy... must incorporate into vocab.
Weekend: It's not quite Friday here... a couple more hours to go... tomorrow is a state holiday... my big plans are to spend Friday with the girls... we have a 5 year old birthday party Saturday, so tomorrow will involve shopping for a gift... Caroline wants to get him Hullaballoo.
Clare

November 10th, 2006, 01:10 AM
 Don't worry I understand that, our interest rates have gone up AGAIN! we are now on 7.25%, it's the 3rd rate rise in 6 months :errr: so soon I won't be able to afford a happy meal either!
Clare
November 10th, 2006, 03:36 AM
I'm feeling a bit better, I don't think I'm going to get the full force of the tummy bug :crossfing
Feeling a bit blue though :blue: There's a little boy at the kid's school with leukaemia and we found out today that he has to have his leg amputated. So sad :(
MrsPeacefrog
November 10th, 2006, 04:11 AM
Oh, Clare. That's horrible :blue: That poor little boy and family.

I'm going to NY tonight. Unless my boss keeps me in the OR until midnight again. Anyway we have a very exciting weekend planned!!! Tom and I are going on a double date (no kids!!!) on Saturday night with my best friend and her husband. It's a birthday present to me from my friend. We're having dinner at some posh restaurant in NYC. I'm SO excited!!!

Oh Clare, that is so tragic...and I hope you don't get it full force.
Amanda - that sounds awesome!! have a great time!!!!
I have an eye dr appt this morning that I had to reschedule cause I FORGOT about it on Monday LOL. Then tonight is GIRLS NIGHT!!! and I need it HORRIBLY bad!!!! We're going out for dinner, drinks, dessert and talking!! I've been good ALL week so I can have fun tonight!!! I've walked every day!! That is good for me LOL! Tomorrow I have a Pampered Chef party at 10:30am....then the boys need haircuts. I think we are going to run to the mall in the evening and then go to dinner and see the Santa Claus 3!! I'm more excited than anyone else! We were going to do our outside decorating but instead of 60s and sun it is 50s and rain and wind now. Sunday just watching the race!!
LISA
November 10th, 2006, 07:26 AM
Oh Clare :(
Have fun Amanda! sounds like so much fun!
I'm off this weekend :woo: mind you I have to spend it cleaning the house but I'm still so happy not to be working :bliss:
Clare
November 10th, 2006, 07:27 AM
Kara, I know you're excited about Santa Clause 3 b/c I've seen you mention it so many times in the last couple of weeks
Emily's going to see it with her class on Dec 5th so I'm going to take Harry on the 7th as he gets out of school earlier then she does.
Jayne
November 10th, 2006, 07:31 AM
at 7:30 in the morning we have no plans for the weekend but I am sure that will all change as the day progresses.
Today I am supposed to go shopping with my friend after we drop our daughters off at school (her DH will get her daughter and My sister will get mine) that said she might bail if her DH's friend is able to come today to help them work out their brick work so who knows (I HATE WHEN I AM EXCITED TO DO SOMETHING AND THEY CANCEL) I know why but AHHHH
MrsPeacefrog
November 10th, 2006, 07:33 AM
I hope you have an awesome time on your girls night, Kara.
Lisa: :rahrah: for not working, how exciting!!!!!
We just finished watching "Derailed" it was actually pretty good, I liked the plot twist  It was a very different role for Jennifer Aniston
I am heading off to bed soon, it's 11:30pm and I have to get up early for my running around like a mad woman tomorrow morning, going to the drs, getting a birthday present, getting the kids hair cut and then off to a birthday party all by 11:30am  wish me luck!
Cami
November 10th, 2006, 07:52 AM
Deb, I think the Bob pjs would be fine.
Kara, I hope your girls night is a blast!
Clare, that's awful about the little boy. :(
Amanda, enjoy your night out!!!
Alysia, good luck packing!!
Now I know I missed people but I can't go back further. :(
My husband left this morning for a 10 day business trip. I took the girls to school/preschool, stopped at the library with B, and then the preschool called to say Aubrey was throwing up. :dead: I picked her up and she threw up again in the car. I just ordered groceries online so I won't have to take her to the store with me and the order rang up wrong so now I have to call them. :grr:
MrsPeacefrog
November 10th, 2006, 07:58 AM

Sunday is a continued spring cleaning day, we need to sort out Jacobs room and get the rest of the things we are getting rid of pictured and lodged on eBay.
That made me have to think for a little bit! Today, I'm getting new tires on my car :woo: which means a trip to the zoo since it is close by. But it is a great day so that will be fun. Hopefully Katie will want to go to see other things than the bat cave
Saturday, a friend is having a ummmm... *ahem* Slumber party, you know one of those passion type parties :shhh: It should be fun!
Sunday, Reed has a Veteran's Day thing in the middle of the day.

November 10th, 2006, 09:18 AM
We have to leave for playgroup in about 15-20 minutes. Then tomorrow is mom's night out with my playgroup moms. I think Sunday we're going to see Borat, but I'm not sure.

I'm here. Bummed out about my car accident this morning (we're fine, DH is furious at me, car will need some repairs but not major, I think). We're about to walk to the local grocery store to pick up a few necessities.
Amanda, your date night sounds awesome!
Alysia, don't get lost in the styrofoam peanuts!
Clare, I hope you don't end up with the same cooties!
and :wavey: to everyone else I might have missed.

Oh Anne--sorry about the car. I'm glad you're OK.
Amanda--you so deserve a night out with Tom. Have fun!
Cami--sorry about Aubrey
Add me to the list of having a sick kid. Riley's got more snot than I know what to do with. :tearhair: I really hope she doesn't get Jeremy sick.
Anyone else so excited today is Friday? It's been an incredibly long week here. Not much planned. I'm having lunch with a girlfriend Sunday, and Phil says he hopes I come back.
Michele
November 10th, 2006, 09:47 AM
Hi everyone...I'm jealous of all of you who are having girls nights out...I was supposed to go to an MNO last night but I had to bail at the last minute b/c my husband had to work late.
Anne - I'm sorry about your accident!
Cami, Clare - sorry about all the puking!
Amanda, Lisa - I don't have to work this weekend either :woo:
So, we don't have any plans really. Last weekend was pretty busy so I'm kind of glad about that. Tonight I'm making a good dinner which Scott and I will eat after the kids go to bed. I am also planning on having some wine.
Tomorrow Jackson has swimming lessons at 11:30, and Scott is going to take him out either before or after to have some special Daddy and Jackson time. They are going to go to the park or the Children's Museum depending on the weather. Saturday night will probably be the same as Friday night.
Sunday - no plans, usually we have dinner with my Dad but he is in FL this weekend, so I have no idea what we'll do. Maybe we'll go out without him.
Jayne
November 10th, 2006, 09:48 AM
:hug99: I am sorry Anne, I am glad you're both ok though!
Well as it turns out she is going to go shopping just to tick her DH off  He is staying home with the baby!!! I am so excited to get out for some girl time!

November 10th, 2006, 12:25 PM
I love the word 'dodgy.' I need to find more ways to bring it into my daily vocabulary.
Happy Friday! :nana: Nothing big planned for us. Brendon seems to be getting sick now (respiratory not stomach, thankfully!), so we'll probably just putz around the house. We're going to see my parents on Sunday, since it has been a while since we've gone over there.
My manager just came and gave me a $5 gift cert to the coffee cart here! When I asked him what it was for, he said "just because!" and "thanks for doing a great job." Wow! :aok: How do I repay him? By wasting time online. :hehe:
TtownAnne
November 10th, 2006, 12:30 PM
What he doesn't know won't hurt him, Nichole. :shhh: It does make you more productive if you have a break once in a while!
We just walked to the grocery store for some necessities (exercise! :aok: ) and am now waiting for the insurance lady to call me back.
Alysia
November 10th, 2006, 01:05 PM
Clare~ That is so sad about the little boy!
Cami~ Im sorry to hear the sickies have hit Aubrey now too!
Anne~ Im glad you guys are okay and it wasnt a major accident.
Kara~ Enjoy your night out!
I am actually working a semi-normal shift today! Instead of 1230-9 I am working 10-630. Yay Friday!!

Probably not much seeing how I have strep and feel like shit. DH has to work tomorrow. Depending on how I feel I may take David up to the local church carnival and ride a few rides.

Must go to store. Must. I haven't been in 3 weeks since we were going on vacation and we have NADA in the fridge.
TtownAnne

Me too. We walked to the local grocery store this morning for some necessities, but I need to do real shopping. Maybe tonight after I get the rental car.

November 10th, 2006, 02:17 PM
We have an exciting weekend planned!
Saturday: grocery store, rake leaves
Sunday: rake leaves and dry out crawlspace that has 2 inches of water

It's so bad I'm praying my MIL will invite me over for dinner when I go to pick up Riley and Owen tonight after work
AmyP
November 10th, 2006, 07:04 PM
I don't have much in the house either. And DH is hanging out with a friend tonight so I have ZERO interest in cooking for just me. I'm PMSing right now, and all I want is something really fattening. It's just me eating, so I won't be ordering enough food for someone to deliver. And I don't feel like dragging Sarah somewhere to pick up any takeout.
What to eat? What to eat? Should I just suck it up and order a pizza and save whatever I don't eat for later?
Michele
November 10th, 2006, 07:27 PM
It is Friday night! Just about 7:30 and both my kids are asleep and my husband is at the liquor store! :woo:

I hate rain. Phil's still not home. He left at 4 and it's 6:30. I'm so done with the parenting for the week. :dead: I'm out of steam. At least he's bringing home pizza.

Nichole
November 10th, 2006, 08:57 PM
Sounds like it's a pizza consensus around here - we ended up ordering out for it, too. I think Jackson has figured out that it's my weak spot and have a hard time turning down pizza delivery on a Friday night.
Only a half hour to go, Alysia! :woo:
:woo: Michele! Any grand plans? :brow:
Did you end up at MIL's, Shel?
Michele
November 10th, 2006, 09:57 PM
 Nichole! Have you been talking to Scott today? We just finished a good bottle of Pinot Grigio, and now he's making me a Bailey's and coffee for dessert.
I don't know what my deal is, but I'm on a white wine kick lately. The last couple of times I've had red I've had WAY too much and the thought of it makes me a little queasy...

November 10th, 2006, 10:44 PM
:wavey: Hi everyone.
Saturday 2:45pm here.
I am a little bummed, last night one of our Australia TV soapie stars lost her battle with breast cancer :blue: She was only 32. She was married to one of our biggest TV personalities who has a live show every Tuesday night, he is a comedian and is much loved by the public. It's just horrible I feel so terribly for him. I wonder if his show will go on this Tuesday :dunno: :blue:
I took Jacob to the Dr's this morning and he got his Meningococcal vaccination. We also got him looked at with his ears and nose, the dr is thinking it's allergies and he needs a specialist. So he has given us a referral for a ENT at the childrens hospital. He has also given him a course of antibiotics because the snot is yellow and his ears are red. Hopefully we will get to the bottom of this soon.
I also took all 3 boys to the 4yr old birthday party, we finished at the Drs alot quicker than expected so I had the chance to go buy him a birthday present, so I didn't have to resort to using the Bob the builder PJ's. The boys had so much fun, it was at a play centre and my two were the only ones that didn't end up coming to the table of mothers screaming and crying over something  I didn't see them the entire time. They had a blast!
Now they are having a relax in bed, and I am able to have a browse around here! ahhhhhhhhh :heee:

Isn't it sad, Deb  I felt ill when I heard the news this morning. So, so sad :( I was in the Jack Palance thread and nearly posted at least he was 87, not 32 :( But I guess death is sad no matter what age, but this just seems so unfair :(

November 10th, 2006, 11:41 PM
I know, Clare. It's so incredibly tragic. For some reason I thought she was in remission. And she must have been terribly sick for her to have passed away last night, and Rove was so ON last Tuesday night. He was as hilarious as always. I wonder what's going to happen now. I am heart broken for him and her family!
Cami
November 11th, 2006, 02:33 AM
That's so sad. :(
I was coming on here to ask the Chicago gals about the weather there last night but I see Darcy mentioned the rain so I guess it was bad. Rudi's flight to Chicago was diverted to... Detroit... so 16 hours after taking off, he still wasn't in Chicago! He called as they were driving through everyone's favorite town, Gary, Indiana.
MrsPeacefrog
November 11th, 2006, 02:37 AM
Wow that would suck, Cami!
Would you prefer to be the one on the diverted plane, or at home with the pukey kid?
Cami
November 11th, 2006, 03:44 AM
At least I'm not on the diverted plane with the pukey kid!
She seems to be much better today. :crossfing I let her have a pancake for breakfast.

Saturday night and I'm enjoying a glass of wine :) Harry still has the tummy bug :( but is much better in his spirits, if that makes sense. He isn't lying around being miserable anymore but still puking and pooping every now and again. At least Alex is home now to wipe his bum :)
Emily had her first ballet exam today! I assumed her whole class was being examined but was surprised when we got there to find it was only two of them. Apparently the teacher felt that only Emily and Taylor were ready :) I thought she had blown it at first b/c when they came out, one of the examiners pulled her back and I heard her asking her if she'd been nervous. So I thought she'd stuffed up, but then when they brought her out, her teacher said she did really well and the examiner said that she was beautiful and that if she wants to take it seriously that they'd be interested in her for their Junior Professional Program!! I was kind of shocked :faint: cause I thought she was a bit unco-ordinated  She doesn't want to continue it though, she's more interested in Irish dancing. It was nice to hear that she did well though :)
Okay, we're off to see The Wizard! The Wizard of Oz is just starting and Em wants me to watch with her.
sheila
November 11th, 2006, 08:34 AM
:woo: Go Emily! That is such great news! I hope yopu are enjoying your wine!
Clare & Deb :justahug: I am sorry to hear about the star. Death is never easy, and hearing about someone so young dying is so much harder.

November 11th, 2006, 09:14 AM
LOL, Yes Clare I am quite excited! more than the kids! LOL!
Deb and Clare, that is so sad :(
hope all the sick kiddos get better soon!!!!!
Girls night was so/so...I'm having some issues with my cousin right now that didn't make it drama free LOL. but dinner and DRINKS were great and then we stopped at Target before coming home.
The house is SUCH a mess. My kidney stone stuff threw me off and I've never caught up. Maybe tomorrow. It looks like a free day and DH will be watching the race so maybe I can clean. I may be putting the tree up too and trying another picture session LOL.
I'm going to a Pampered Chef today (at cousins house)..then we're going to the movie sometime today!!

I drove to NY last night without falling asleep at the wheel and crashing the car! Go me! I have to admit that I got off the highway for drive-thru McDonald's at one point. It sucks doing the drive alone because it's hard to stop for a pee break or dinner. Jessica slept the whole way. Nathaniel was good. Not a bad drive.
Once we got home Nathaniel was a monster! He was up most of the night and was whiney and horrible. Thanks kid.

November 11th, 2006, 11:49 AM
I hope the weekend gets better, Amanda!
Kara, did you decide not to use that prof picture you had?
Clare, sounds like a nice evening. Good for Emily, even if she wants to focus elsewhere!
We have had a lazy day here. The kids painted, read books, and played outside but we haven't gone anywhere. Our groceries were delivered early, which was sooo nice because we were totally out of milk and bread and I had no idea what was left for the kids to eat. I was afraid we'd actually have to leave the house and that sounded like too extreme an effort.

I'm home alone. Apparently DH is still in punishment mode because he said he would go grocery shopping (something I enjoy doing and said I would do this morning) and take Caroline along - AND took the rental car, which is the only car I can drive. So I'm stuck at home suffocating under the weight of disapproval. Fun. :(

Cami, yeah the weather was horrible. :dead: The most rain we've had in a few months, they were saying. My parents got a ton of rain in their basement. And now it's freezing. It was 67 earlier this week, and now we'll be lucky if we see 30 today. Ah, love the Midwest.

Cami- Nope, I will probably still use it...Just gonna try a couple in their new outfits.

Yeah Anne, what's his beef? It's not like you did it on purpose to piss him off. Geeze!
So, we've been camping all afternoon. We set up our tent in the living room and we have the fireplace on. I just took a little nap in the tent, but now I'm all stuffy so I'm wondering if that is b/c of the tent. I am more than ready to take it down now, but Jackson is protesting.

Anne, sorry, but he is being a jackass!!! It's a car!!! I don't get the big deal, accidents happen. I would tell him to grow the F-up when he gets home and I would question him if he thinks he is so perfect then he would chauffer you around all day and do everything because apparently you aren't competant enough! I am glad you and Caroline are both ok! :hug99:
Well it's Sunday morning here, I slept TERRIBLE. Riley must have crawled into bed some time last night and I didn't notice, but the consequence was me spending the night hanging off half of the bed, and I woke up with a crink neck and sore lower back.
Today I plan on going and paying off the remainder of the christmas laybys and buying Christmas/birthday presents for our friends son, and then we will take the kids to visit my parents. They haven't really seen them in the last 2 weeks due to their big move, it was so sad the other day I pulled into a street that my parents old house ran off and they thought we were going to see them and cried when I told them they don't live there anymore :blue: So it will be nice for the kids to go visit there Nonna and Nonno.
Now if only I can get this crink out of my neck life will be much easier today

I hope you all have a good visit Deb. :)
Someone just sent me this website that will do an automatic comparison shop at our four big grocery stores for you. As you pick out all your groceries from a central website, it tracks the prices at all the stores and then at the end, you decide which store to send your order to. Highly entertaining on a Saturday night.

Okay so HELP! Jacob just threw a remote control at my laptop and it hit a button and has completely stuffed up my browser settings, I don't know how to get it back to normal. the bottom toolbar and top toolbar aren't there anymore, I managed to figure out how to atleast get the address bar back up there so I could get back to this page, but no matter what settings I press it's not getting it to look the way I want it too. :blue: I can't seem to find the browser default settings button :dunno: does anyone know where it is?

I had a wild day! :brow: We had a slumber party, where they sell "marital aids." It was interesting, they had a lot of lotions, oils, etc... and TOYS! The lady who sells the stuff normally earns $500-800 a party! I will say, every single person at that party was lined up at the end buying their goodies! The transaction is private, no one knows what you are getting and you get your stuff THAT day!
So, I got some lotions, oils, something for Reed and something special for myself! It should be an interesting night!

Oh Melissa that sounds interesting, never heard of a sleepover party though.
Ok, is it bad that I am planning on going to bed at 8pm? I'm normally getting ready to go to work so sleeping would be bliss :bliss: besides I have a splitting headache and I can barely keep my eyes open :dead:

Genavieve and I are having a girl's night after a day filled with packing.
We went to Blockbuster (or as Genavieve calls it "The Movie Store".) We haven't been since July and she picked the SAME Dora DVD that she got last time.
And then we went to Arby's and got sandwiches.
After Genavieve watches Dora and I put her to bed, I got "American Dreamz" to watch. I also rented "Nacho Libre" but will wait to watch that until DH is home.
I really wanted to get "The Break Up" but they were all gone.

Hey Alysia! We go to 'The Movie Store' too! I hope the packing is going well.
Clare, so sorry about that little boy! :blue: I hope you don't get sick and the boys get better. :hug99:
Cami, I wish we had online grocery shopping. I'm living in labour city, back in the 20th century. Some people here don't even use email! :faint:
Anne, I'm sorry James is being such a jackass! Patrick can be the same way sometimes! :hug99:
Amanda, I hope date night was a success! Yours too Melissa!
We went to the Remembrance Day ceremonies today but had to leave before it was over because Graham was getting crabby. He was losing it by the time we got back to the van. Mason and I went out directly after that to go buy diapers and look at the toy department. It was in the hopes Graham would stay sleeping and Patrick could play the video game from 'the movie store' but that didn't work. Either way, I called and said I wanted to take Mason to 'Old McDonalds' for lunch just the two of us, so we did and we had a good time and then he played on the jungle gym thingy. It has been a loooooong time since Mason and I did anything like that alone together. We usually have Graham with us or Patrick will take Mason and do something like that.
Tomorrow I should wash the rest of the laundry and fold the stuff I did today.

Sorry about the meltdown, Bev.
Well for some reason restarting my computer got my browser back to normal! so me happy :heee:
We just went shopping to buy a birthday and christmas gift for our friends son, they live in Melbourne so I need to get that off in the post. Tony was having way too much fun playing with all the toys, and I wanted to get alot of small things, but he had his heart set on big things, so now the shipping is going to cost us a fortune. But I will suck it up, they have 3 of my kids to buy for, and they only have one, so it's only fair
The boys are now having a nap and then we will head over to see my parents when they wake up.
Then tonight I have a GAZILLION scales to wrap for the postie to come pick up tomorrow! fun fun.

Nathaniel had a horrible night last night. UGH! He has a terrible cold. I stupidly left his shoes in Baltimore (he was wearing footed PJs in the car) so we bought him new shoes today. It's not as extravagant as it sounds because he went from a size 6 to a size 7.5! Good thing we went shopping!!!
Jessica pooped through several outfits today. I hope they don't send her home from daycare on Monday. Please God, let her poop be normal by Monday! Please?!?
Dinner tonight was AWESOME! We never, ever get a babysitter. We had such a nice time and our friends treated. Tom is taking the babysitter home right now (he was the designated driver for all of us). Kids are both asleep and all is well with the world. It's amazing what a few glasses of wine will do for the psyche.....
Looks like we're getting the new au pair soon. Will wonders ever cease????

Cute! I like the font.
Thanks for all the sympathy, y'all. Relations are thawing a little here, I think. He's mainly just mad because (a) this is my second accident ever while he hasn't had one, (b) his view of people who don't pay attention enough to avoid an accident is dim at best :snob: and (c) the cost of the subsequent insurance raise. Especially being as just this past summer our insurance went down a bunch because my first accident was finally off the system.
But today I got a bunch of exercise by walking to the library and back, and tomorrow I'm taking Caroline to see a movie!

As of yesterday, Alex has decided he's on a health kick. His company is all gung-ho about nutrition and healthy living and he's jumped on the bandwagon. So he started his new lifestyle by getting up early and stretching for 15 minutes before breakfast. And then had McDonalds for lunch :wtf: Not a "healthy" option at McDonalds either, a large Big Mac Meal  Today I made him lunch - tuna salad - and he told me that was acceptable on his new regimen :wtf: I told him his new regimen can hire a chef cause I'm not going to be grilled and criticised over my cooking :complain: But the funniest part of all this - he's been told that he needs to eat 4 fruit and 9 veg a day, so after his eggs and tomato on toast this morning, he asked me if egg was a vegetable :lol2: Yes he is a 38 year old man with a business degree, but he thought that an egg was a vegetable

Well I would LOVE it if Patrick went on a health kick. He drinks a bolthouse farms veg drink and figures he doesn't need to eat real vegetables. He could stand to lose 30 pounds.
Anne, my sister smashed their van 2 payments before it was to be paid off. A guy jumped out in front of the car ahead of her, who slammed on his brakes and then it was a domino effect from there. It was the second time that happened to her. Right before the vehicle was paid for I mean. No one's fault really but her stoopid husband had to go and tell his Mom, who told her, "That's the second time she did that!" Well she's not doing it on purpose! Sheesh! :hug99:
Amanda, glad you had a nice date night and I hope Jessica's poops solidify.

Oh trust me, you girls aren't alone, I wish he would have a minor accident or get a ticket too, just so I can walk around smirking for a while. :snob:
Clare, I just snorted tea to read that Alex thinks an egg is a vegetable! :lol2: You should have told him yes just to be rotten. And tell him that fish is meat too. And peas are bad for him. :giggle: If he thinks eggs are vegetables, how will he ever manage to eat 9 real vegetables a day?
DH just said he wants to put up the Christmas tree next weekend. :wtf: I just laughed. We were just making fun of some neighbors up the street who have their yard all decorated for Christmas already (huge blow up figurines and lighted spinning things and the like), so why should we join in the insanity? (actually it's because the following weekend, when we normally put up the tree, is when he'll be in Vegas for a business trip)

Clare - Alex is not alone. Scott didn't know that coke had carbs in it. He decided to do the Atkins diet at one point and was telling me how easy it was. "I just have a buger w/no bun, a salad and a coke for lunch....this isn't hard at all" He was shocked when I told him that he couldn't have coke b/c of the carbs. "There's no carbs in it...just sugar" was his response. Ok, buddy...

Well I just heard on the news that the TV presenter we were talking about earlier in this thread who's wife just died of breast cancer at 32 has cancelled his show for the rest of the year :blue: every Tuesday night is going to be a reminder that she passed away when his time slot comes up. I am still so saddened by this!
Well it's Monday morning here, I dropped the boys off at daycare extremely early  they only go twice a week and I was soooo tired when they woke up this morning I thought I would avoid having to serve them breakfast myself, and I just got them quickly dressed and had them at daycare by 7:10am, they served them breakfast and I got to come home and relax with Jacob. He is now crawling around playing with toys and I get to have a coffee and play on here before I have to start doing house work :heee:

Alex did that a couple of weeks ago, arrived to drop off Sam at 7.20am to find out daycare doesn't open till 7.30am :lol:I don't blame Rove at all for cancelling the show :( It would be so hard when you're expected to be funny (for everyone else, he has a talk show, like Letterman/Leno etc)

I don't blame Rove for cancelling the show either, I can't imagine having to be as funny as he is so soon after this, to be honest I am amazed by his humour in the last few weeks if she was so incredibly sick. But I can see her wanting him to go on even when she was sick.

Okay, question... Eliot ran a fever on Friday I was called by the school to come pick him up, he ran a fever on & off Sat, today his temp was up this morning (99.1) and tonight before he went to sleep he was running 101.7... so my question is, if in the morning his temp is normal should I sent him to school??
I'm at a crossroad here and not sure where to go... do I keep him one more day especially since in the morning it will not be 24hrs since his last high temp... or do I send him in if he doesn't have a high temp and hope that he's over whatever he had and he'll be okay??
Ah!! Decisions, decisions, decisions
Bridget
November 12th, 2006, 11:11 PM
Mary I think I'd see how he does tonight... if any fever (will you get up and check?) I'd say you'll probably have to keep him home. I guess I'm thinking his fever might break with his last round of medicine and not come back... if so it's probably OK. :dunno: If not, I'd probably keep him home.
GOOD LUCK! :hug99:

That's what happened last night, he was running 102 and I had to get him up in the middle of the night b/c he was all wet b/c of his fever breaking so his temp was a little up but never reached 100 and then tonight there goes up again... I guess I need to check the parent handbook to see what it says about it... dang it, I hate trying to figure this things out especially since I don't know how he will be in the morning :silly: I guess I could just wait until in the morning like any other sane person would but then what I would have to worry about all night??

That is Great Anne. Could she teach Alyssa her form. We have got to get pic's done soon for the same (Birthday/Christmas) and I am dreading it.
Did you have her change outfits or did you do it all in one?
TtownAnne
November 13th, 2006, 02:24 PM
This is the first time we've changed outfits, just because her Christmas dress is OBVIOUSLY Christmassy (beaded things on the front - candy cane, ornament, gingerbread man, etc.) and I wanted her birthday pics to stand alone from that. So the other dress was a pretty purple velvet dress with ivory collar that my mom actually bought before Caroline was born, because she was sure I'd have a girl and knew that any girl of mine would have to like purple!
Jayne

Not much to say from this corner today. Just working. (except for right now. ahem. :scan: ) We're leaving this weekend to drive up to northern CA to see the ILs; we're going to be up there for a week so we can spend some quality time with everyone. I'm hoping to get a good family pic (or at least one of just the boys) taken while we're there that I can use for Xmas cards. I guess I should start working on what we're going to wear, eh?
TtownAnne
November 13th, 2006, 02:39 PM
Absolutely. I wanted to post them today, but just couldn't make myself pay $9.95 for the six pics on CD to show them off. (yeah, Nichole, the dress thing is amazing - my mom just gave it to me last winter and told me that right after I said I was pregnant she saw this dress in the store. She thought it was the most elegant old-fashioned looking thing and bought it just on the chance I would have a girl who would eventually fit into it!)
Got good news too, just now - the rental car company called to see if everything was okay with the car. I said that I was concerned something was leaking from underneath and they said to bring it in and they will absolutely switch it out for something else. So that's good news.
Jayne

He is having the pins removed from his right leg. They have really been bothering him. They flex when ever he does any physical activity and then his knee swells really bad. The Dr has said all along he wanted them to be removed. WHen they went looking at how they are sticking out of the bone they noticed that the eye hole that is usually left so that the doctor can hook it and pull them out was not left because of Tylor's size. So he is going to have to go in with vice grips, attach to the pin and hammer it out. It just scares me a bit.
Tylor will not be able to do much at all for a week and then he is limited to light walking for 6-8 weeks.
We are having it done tuesday before Thanksgiving to lessen his days out of school. The doctor believes he can go back to school on Monday. Tylor really loves school and is mad about having to be out.

Hi Ladies......... Why does it have to be Monday again so soon?!

I hope the surgery goes well, Jayne! :crossfing Brendon had to have some pins removed from his ankle, and it was fine. He felt so much better after they were out, because they were really hurting.
They're giving flu shots today at work and I'm sitting here trying to psych myself up to go get one. I'm chicken. I don't want a sore arm.
Jayne

 Nichole :hug99: You will do great!
Why do I have to go out tonight. It is cold I just want to cuddle up under a blanket. Is it bedtime yet???

November 13th, 2006, 04:39 PM
Nichole, weigh it out - sore arm for a day, or puking for three days and spreading it to the kids too? I'd go for the sore arm. You can do it! :cheer:
Nichole
November 13th, 2006, 04:39 PM
Oh, ok. That's a good perspective right there.
I'm going now while I have enough mustered courage. :bolt:

Nichole
November 13th, 2006, 04:52 PM
Yes, for sure. Or me feeling like poop while they pull on me and whine.
Jayne, are you thinking of The Water Boy? You cahn do eet!
Bev
November 13th, 2006, 04:55 PM
Nichole you can get it in your leg if they let you. I used to ask the nurses at work to put it in my leg. Then I didn't get a sore arm.
Our Christmas/family photos turned out fantastic! My Mom has a scanned picture that my SIL sent from her computer (my scanner isn't hooked up so I did it there) and I'm waiting for her to send it to me and I'll post it. Mason and Patrick wore navy blue and Graham and I wore red. We all wore jeans and had a white background. It looked fantastic! :aok: Mason and Graham's shirts were matching.
Good luck to Tylor with the surgery! :)
Anne, I think the secret is them not clenching their teeth, but how to stop it! Mason kept looking over to the flash because he knew it was coming.

Bev, that's a good idea in theory, but they're doing them in a conference room here at work and I don't think everyone wants to see me yank my pants down. :booty:
I'd love to see your family pics!

 thats funny Melissa
Kara: Glad you enjoyed the movie! As for christmas tree's you know that's one thing that I do stick too, I am not an over superstitious person, but putting up any decorations before the 1st of December is bad luck! :lol2: so I don't do it.. but then again I guess if I ever took down the christmas lights from the roof of my house I could actually go by the rule properly! If it were true I would be in haiti perminantly!
LOL! Well I never make the Dec. 1st rule, so I must have had bad luck for 11 years! LOL! I try to wait till the day after Thanksgiving but I love my house all decorated so I usually get earlier each year!

My IL's have decided to keep Alyssa over night Monday night and they will take her to school and pick her up. Surgery is set for 7:30am but we wont' know what time we have to be there until we get the call Monday night (Strange right?)
I love the thought of Dinner but you have so much to do with Thanksgiving at your house. Don't worry about it. Thank you so much for offering though :hug99:

I hope you don't have too much of a dead arm, Nichole.
Lisa, sorry you are so tired, do you have plans for your birthday? :secret: it's already your birthday here in Australia :giggle:
kara: I am the same, I LOVE decorations and christmas lights, I think when the kids get a little older I will probably crack open the chrissie tree earlier, I don't want to put it up too early and have them ask me everyday if it's christmas yet! :lol2:
It's a flippin BEAUTIFUL day today, I might take the kids to the park. Of course I have to wait till the parcel pick up comes, but then I will be free to go. I also need to buy a laser printer, I just don't know what is going to be good enough for what I need it for, it's impossible to know when printers range from $150 to $3000! :wtf:

No plans except taking in a movie and maybe going out for dinner, oh I also plan on getting my hair done but I don't know if they can take me tomorrow..I hope so :crossfing: I want to get streaks.

I had a busy day at work = no OUAL time! Tragedy!
Nathaniel stayed home from daycare with the au pair (the one who's leaving) and seems better tonight. I think I'll send him back to daycare tomorrow. No notes home about Jessica's poops so I guess she's better!

Da da da daaaaaaa!
Here it is! It was done at Sears and SIL gave us her discount! :aok: The girl printed this off but she isn't supposed to. Really it's supposed to be a massive thing that is about $129-$229.00 :faint: This was $12 with the discount because it's not big and it's not a real mat. It is 8x8 inches so now I'm looking for a square frame for it. It was printed on 8x11" paper so when I scanned it I cropped the edges. When I find the frame I'll just trim it with the trimmer. I personally think it rocks!
The ones of Mason and Graham by themselves and me and Patrick are just cropped and pasted from other photos.
It's a bit small here. Get out the magnifying glasses. :)

Jayne: I know, especially when it's daylight savings time, because we end up being up to 17 hours ahead of some of you which is practically a whole day! it's just crazy to be speaking to you guys while your having dinner and I am having lunch but in the next day!
Lisa: sounds like a great day, I hope the streaks turn out purdy! :heee:
Bev: I LOVE the photos they did a great job, and I also like the ones with the boys hanging off patricks legs, so cute! :love2:
Well I got a laser printer. I kept it simple, I just need it to print out the barcodes for our items, it sucks that colour lasers are so stupidly expensive so we stuck with monochrome so I will still need to use my original printer to do our invoices which has colour logo's  Oh well, will have to wait till the business makes us rich then I will splurge on a colour laser  Or if I wait about 3 months the technology will be so old they will be dirt cheap :giggle:

I can't sleep. It is almost 1am here...and I had a HUGE diet coke at work tonight and the caffeine is killing me right now. I'm so pissed b/c I went to bed early last night and woke up feeling so rested, and now I'm ruining it. I can't even laze around the house tomorrow morning b/c Jackson has a doctor's appointment at 10:30.
Anyway...vent over...just had to get that out!
