View Full Version : When was the last time you put your foot in your mouth?

I was at a halloween carnival for Rayna on Friday. One of the other mothers there had asked me a few weeks back about using my maternity clothes b/c she was pregnant. I told her that she could. In the interium, I had loaned them to another friend coming to the end of her pregnancy. So, I was going to tell this mom at the carnival that I loaned them to another girl just to get her through the last month of her pregnancy, then I would give them to her to use since she was due much later. She had been avoiding me during the carnival and I thought it was b/c she was mad at me for not giving her the clothes. So, in true Sandy fashion, I barged over and made sure to talk to her so she would understand what I had done and why she didn't have the clothes.
About 2 words in she cut me off and said "I'm not pregnant anymore." This was as we were standing in a little group of people. OMG, I felt like a total :moon2:
It was a major case of :foot:
Just wondering (hoping) that I am not the only one w/ a serious case of the foot in mouth disease.

I can't think of one right now but :hug99: you didn't do that one purpose. I mean, how could you know if she didn't tell you?

I agree with Bridget, Sandy! :hug99:
I'm sure I :foot: regularly. Nothing comes to mind immediately though.

I agree with Bridget and Bev, Sandy. :hug99: There was no way for you to know!
Like Bev, I'm having a hard time thinking of a specific time, but I know I do it frequently. Sometimes I don't know when to keep my mouth shut. :foot:

I can't think of an example either. I'm pretty sure I purposely block it out of my memory. But I've done it, for sure.

IM etiquette alert! Don't talk smack about someone on IM unless you are very sure you don't send your comments directly to the person you are talking smack about! Oppps.....:shhh:

I think I put my foot in my mouth almost daily!
Sorry Sandy! That's a horrible feeling.

Sandy - how could you have known! :hug99:
Becky - so you did this?
I am sure I do it often, but one I remember is when I was in high school and I was telling my friend that I loved her hair straight (she let her perm grow out) and I said, "its not fake straight like Jodi's" and turned around to see Jodi standing 4 feet behind me, staring at me. I was mortified. So I added, "but her's looks nice." and I took off running. :duh:

I do it often, but I can't remember a specific one recently.

I do it a lot too, b/c I tend to speak w/o thinking sometimes...
The last time I can remember is when we were at the beach with my friend Jane. She was talking about how she was going to try going brunette for a while b/c she was sick of getting highlights. Scott said "You're not a natural blonde?" and I said "No dude, look at her roots!" Nice, eh? I seriously didn't mean it as bad as it came out.

I did it today -- after my grandma's funeral -- I asked a cousin if he had kids (we hadn't seen each other in years and years). He said "I can't have them, I'm sterile." Talk about foot in freaking mouth.

I don't think that counts Lissa! How would you know? :hug99:

:hug99: Lissa!!!! I know exactly how that feels! I know it isn't something you/we would know, but it still makes you feel like crawling under the carpet or something, doesn't it.
Michelle, that is just too freakin funny!
