I'm curious:

What was the last thing you bought off an auction site? How long ago was it? Were you happy w/ the transaction? Could be ebay, overstock, bidz, etc.
Do you prefer one site over another? If so, why?

:thinking2

The last thing I got it was a Gymboree outfit for Ian (2 tops & a pair of pants) thru Ebay. I was happy with the transaction, the condition of the items & the price I paid for the items. Ian wore this outfit last week when we went to the pumpkin patch :)

I bought this dress for Alyssa for her birthday. It has interchangeable numbers. up to Number 6 and it also has a heart so you can wear it on other occasions..Although it seems like it might end up being to big this year

I got it on Ebay and it was an awesome transaction. Like Bridget if I am not buying something every so many minutes I am watching something

I bought a CD that came fast and in great condition. Another CD I tried to get has been shipped to the wrong address... twice. Somebody in my old apartment will learn to like Ray Lamontagne!

I had to look at my ebay account to find the last thing I bought and wow, it was last November (so it was probably Christmas clothes). I used to buy clothes on ebay all the time. I think that's the only auction site I've used.

I bought a charger for my new cell phone on eBay. Verizon tried to get me to buy the accessories kit for a mere $49.99. My charger cost $1 with $3.50 shipping. Take THAT Verizon! :tease:

The transaction was awesome only because the seller sent me a malfunctioning one and went over and beyond the call of duty to get a replacement sent out to me. LOVE sellers like that.

I bought gymbo clothes from Julie on OUAL. Does that count?

I bought the sugar and spice gingerbread kids dress in a 3t for Janelle on Sunday, I haven't gotten it yet.

Before that I bought Kincaid's Christmas picture outfit (a baby gap suit jacket, pants, and newsboy hat) in a lot of other random gap clothes. I was SHOCKED to win it with such a low big, it ended up being like 7 complete gap outfits for $30 or something like that, I received them pretty quickly and everything was in great condition!

I bought Riley's Halloween costume off there. She was Tigger, and it was from the Disney store. I also bought her 5 fleece dresses, but I just won that the other night, so I don't have that yet.

I tried to find outfits for the kids' Christmas pictures, but I haven't been having any luck. I think a good ole' trip to the mall will be in order for that.

Three things lately: Talking Dora Surprise for Sarah for Christmas (just came on Tuesday), a new cell phone for DH because I washed his current phone because he left it in his pants (that came in today and is charging right now), and I just won a Gymboree outfit for Sarah the other day.

Last week we got Norah some orange Elephanten boots off ebay. Worn once...still had the plastic tag thingey on them!! Got a friggin' stealio on them. Guess no one in her size wants orange? She loves them and won't wear any of her other shoes right now.

I bought some custom bows last month, the seller said they were 'small' size, but, when I got them they looked pretty big to me. I wonder how big her 'large' bows are?

I got Maggie a Tiger Love gymboree dress NWT, last week and got it yesterday. I also bought some eyelets on Sunday for my scrapbooking retreat this weekend but they didn't get here before I left so I am bummed about that. :(

Amanda
:woo: Let's be total weirdos together!

Here's why I'm afraid of eBay.
1. I have no reputation there (unlike here!) because I've never bought/sold anything so I don't know if that would affect a purcase.

2. How the heck do you find anything on there? Where do you look for all the cool outfits and things?

3. It seems very complicated. I like things to be simple and easy. It just doesn't look easy.

I frequently buy older Gymbo lines, so my last purchase was a CAAB striped sweater in size 7 for the future. I also bought a Sleeping Beauty DVD that I believe came from Malaysia.

I just bought 3 Hanna Andersson dresses off ebay. I go through spurts with ebay. Every once in awhile I shop, shop, shop and then I don't go on for 5 months.

I have to say that I've been on ebay a lot more lately because it's one of the few sites that is not blocked at work.

The only auction site I use is ebay. The last thing I bought (I think) was an Irish dancing t-shirt and drink bottle for Emily.

Bev - it's not scary!! You've got to just jump right in. Everybody starts without any feedback. As for finding stuff, just do a search on what you're looking for. Example, if I type The Wiggles into 'search" it will bring up everything Wiggles for sale starting with the auctions that are ending the soonest.

Thank you Clare. I found something I want to buy. Two things actually. One is a 3 pack of got2be colorheads spiking glue in red, white and blue for $4.99; the other is the same thing but purple and a single pack for the same price.

Is it rude of me to ask to have them both for say, $8? It is two different auctions by the same seller.

Last thing I got was glow bracelets that we handed out on Halloween. I got them on Ebay and it was a smooth transaction. I've been very lucky that I've never had a bad transaction on Ebay. (knock on wood!)

Thank you for posting that. Thank you!!! I would have never gone to ebay and found out that my account was hacked. :gah: But all is well again.

I've only purchased one item on eBay. It was a used book that I wanted but wouldn't pay full price on (still haven't read even though it's been a while). The shipping took forever, over three weeks IIRC, since the seller sent it media mail. I think she could have gotten it to me quicker with the amount of postage.

eBay is my life  I buy everything on there, I decked out the entire nursery when I had Jacob from there

The last thing I bought which arrived a couple of days ago was a bob the builder PJ set for my friends son as part of his birthday gift

I have been very lucky as well, I have never had a bad transaction on eBay so far (knock on wood) I can't believe I waited so long to get into it. We became members in Oct 04. We jumped straight in and sold our washing machine on there. We couldn't believe we got almost $100 for it and it sold us on the place, we never turned back!
