View Full Version : Do you make your bed daily?

Now that I'm home, I've been making our bed daily. My husband thinks I'm nuts since we'll just mess it up later, but it helps me feel better about the day if it's made.
How does it work in your house? What about your kids' beds?

I try to, but sometimes it doesn't get made until the afternoon. And I admit that I've only started doing it since I've become a SAHM.
As for Riley, she only has a sheet on the bed. The girl HATES blankets on while she sleeps. When I cover her up before I go to bed, she'll wake up and yank it off her. Good thing her room is the warmest in the house! So no, I don't make her bed.

I try to make mine daily and for the boys, I try to at least throw the covers up and make it look neat.

I make ours daily and Emma makes her daily. I help Eoin make his daily. He is learning but it is taking a little extra effort.

Umm yeah. I'm OCD like that. All beds get made first thing in the morning.

In the "before time" I did. Now... um, no. (Although I'd prefer it. I hate it unmade.)

I'm OCD like Mandi. Rudi hates it.

I used to when I was single and it was just my bed
Now, not all the time :shuffle: But if we don't make them, we at least spread out the covers.

I make my bed and Jackson's bed every day. Jackson only has a fitted sheet and a blanket, so making his bed is only folding the blanket and putting it on the foot of the bed and arranging his stuffed animals - I like it to look neat though.

I'm the opposite of a lot of you. I used to not care. After being married to a neat-freak, I now realize how nice it is to have the bed made. Now, I don't do it right away (haven't done it yet) but it will get done.

I do on weekends but during the week my cats look so comfy that I don't want to disturb them or I'm running late so I just skip it. But if I'm home, I definitely make it because I can't stand how messy it looks.

Nope, none of us do..
Should get the boys in the habit but we'll have to work on that lol.

Yes, generally every day. If it's not made "right" it's at least pulled up so it looks neat. Same with Jackson's bed. It bugs me to look into his room and see a messy bed; the room just looks so much cleaner/neater when the bed is made.

Um, no. The beds never get made. Other than when I change the sheets.....well, really, no, never. I usually change the sheets right before bedtime, so I change them and then sleep.

Nope, it only gets made on weekends.

We used to, but now that our bedroom is on the top floor (finished attic) and no one sees it....we don't. Keith makes it most of the time anyway.
I don't make Aaron's either. He's got too many pillows and his bed is against the wall and it's a general PITA to make it. I do pull the covers up and smooth out the comforter though. I'm not a total slob.

I make our bed look neat, Katie's I don't care about.

Everyday is a must! Sometimes it doesn't get done until we are about to get back into it for the night. I like the sheets to be in order before I get in bed otherwise I have the hardest time getting comfortable. On the rare occasion that I take a nap I have to make the bed before that too.

I used to make it every morning...now generally it doesn't get "made" until I'm getting ready to get in it. I can't stand to try to sleep in a bed with messy covers, and DH and I are both wild sleepers, so the covers are always messed up.

Ours is made as soon as I roll out of it. Our room is right off the kitchen, so if anyone were to come over, I wouldn't want them to see an unmade bed :errr:. Plus the cat sits on the bed and if she got onto my sheets, then I'd have to wash them (i'm allergic to her, plus that skeeves me).
I make the bottom bunk every day and pull up Norah's comforter, but the top bunk only gets made when we have guests. Same w/ N's bed. Its just too hard when the twins are still napping once a day.

It's pretty much never made. It is if I just changed the sheets, but that's about it. Our bedroom door is always closed and isn't near where guests are when they come over so nobody sees it other than us anyway.

ONly when I change the sheets like Amy said.

If DH is home, then no because when I leave he is still sleeping in it, and he won't make it.
When I'm home alone, it gets made.

No. We make our bed rarely. I do straighten Genavieve's crib most days.
The only time we made our bed everyday was while our house was on the market!

Our bed gets made every day. It drives me nuts not to have it made. I try to make the boy's beds up everyday but they always manage to go in and mess it up.

I never, ever made my bed until recently. Within the last year I started the whole flylady.com thing and now I make my bed religiously. I actually really like having my bed made which is surprising because I always thought it was a waste of time and energy.

I did when I stayed home but now I'm usually out of the house before Jeff is even out of bed. Now, it rarely gets made. Usually only when our cleaning lady comes.

Ours, yes. The boys, sometimes. Emily's, never. Hers is a loft and it's too hard to make it, that only happens on sheet change day.
