Well it's Friday Night here already. I am bored and lonely once again in OUAL land so I thougt I would start the weekend posting party.
Tony is sound alseep due to a hard week at his new job, the boys are finishing up watching Cars and I am about to turn off their lights and put them to bed, Jacob is sound asleep and I am ummmm wellllll here :heee:
What is everyones plans for the weekend?
If you had no restrictions of money, babysitters and distance what would you do with your weekend?
Cami
November 3rd, 2006, 06:30 AM
Not sure of the plans this weekend. DH called after he got to work this morning to say, "let's do something fun this weekend." Which means, "Cami, plan something for us." He's going to be gone for the next two weekends so I'm thinking I might just plan for him to take the kids out by himself sometime this weekend.
If we had a babysitter and cost and time wasn't an issue, DH and I would go sit on a beach and drink foufy drinks with umbrellas all weekend.
MrsPeacefrog
November 3rd, 2006, 06:37 AM
 Tony does that too, he always wants me to come up with "fun" things to do. I think your plan is a good one :awink:
We don't have any real plans this weekend. Tomorrow morning we are going to the Dr's for Jacobs Meningococcal injection and we are going to get Aidens skin issues looked at. Then we have to rush home cause my father has finished building our custom made coffee table and cabinets and he is bringing them over, then he is going to measure up for our entertainment unit. :ura1:
We might ring a few friends and see if they wanna come over for a poker night tomorrow night, then Sunday continue our spring cleaning. Weekends never last long enough do they!
LISA
November 3rd, 2006, 06:43 AM
My plans include working  I am really starting to hate this job and my supervisor who unless you book the weekend off won't give you a weekend off, not even a Sunday..she's a BITCH!! Tony is supposed to paint our bedroom sometime this weekend 'cause he plans on doing the hardwood floors next weekend.
MrsPeacefrog
November 3rd, 2006, 06:45 AM
That sucks royally, Lisa. Have you thought of looking around for something else?
LISA
November 3rd, 2006, 06:55 AM
Yep, everytime I walk through those doors  I'm going to wait a bit before looking again, I was planning on applying at TRU but their shift ends too late, I wouldn't make it back home to get the girls ready for school etc. I'm hoping this supervisor quits or get fired there's alot of BS going on at work due to her.
MrsPeacefrog
November 3rd, 2006, 07:04 AM
That sucks, it's amazing how one person can completely destroy the moral of workers! not really built to be good PR people!

Sorry to totally change topic... my poor little guy is sick. B woke up crying after a 40 minute nap. He gagged, puked (just liquid), and now fell back asleep on the sofa next to me. He's breathing really heavily.
My concern is so obvious (right?) as I continue to sit here at the computer! I can't move now because I don't want to wake him.
MrsPeacefrog
November 3rd, 2006, 07:36 AM
Oh poor baby :blue: Does he have a temp? is that why he is breathing heavily?
I HATE it when our bubbas are sick :blue: I hope he gets better really fast, Cami :hug99:
Kara
November 3rd, 2006, 07:39 AM
Oh no Cami, poor guy!! does he have a temp?
I had planned to get up early and walk but I just couldn't do it. I was so tired from staying up late last night to prep for my IVP test. So I think I will take austin to school and come home and do it, hopefully i can shower before the heating/cooling people come LOL.
The kids get out one hour early today so I usually go pick them up so they don't have to ride the bus. Tonight our friends are coming over for our usual Friday night hang out. Tomorrow DH is working in the morning and I am going to start tackling the basement and figure I might as well bring Christmas stuff up :ok: .. Then I'm trying to see if Jason wants to go to build a bear and go see The Santa Claus with the kids. And I want to go shoe shopping! LOL!
Sunday I want to go to church and we'll watch the race!
Jayne
November 3rd, 2006, 07:41 AM
Sorry Cami, I hope Brady feels better :hug99:
Well it is friday morning here. Tylor and Alyssa both spent the night at their grandparents (IL's) because there is no school today. I have Timmy so I couldn't sleep in but his mom was talking about takeing half a day today so I might get some time to myself this afternoon :cheer:
Tonight Tylor has a party from 8-11 because of rain it was cancelled last week. Tomorrow I am watching my friends two youngest from 8-2 so that she can take the three oldest to Indoor soccer games. I never get paid from her because we swap out but I am going to do this for the next 7 saturday's and so she offered and it couldn't hurt with Christmas coming! Sunday we have church and then I have one of those ....oh those parties where they sell stuff
Dan and I will do something Saturday night and the kids will be staying with my parents as it is their eveyr saturday thing!
If money were no object (baby-sitting is always no object) and time were know object I think Dan and I would take off for the Outer Banks again. We had an amazing time there and can't help but want to go back. It was so nice to connect as a couple. We haven't been just a couple except in Highschool. That makes life a little hard.
Cami
November 3rd, 2006, 07:42 AM
I'm not sure why he's breathing like that. He was freaked out by throwing up so I'm hoping it's just that and he'll calm down after he's asleep? I knew he was getting sick because he was awake and coughing for half the night. So he's congested too which could explain the raspy breathing.
MrsPeacefrog
November 3rd, 2006, 07:50 AM
Poor little boy :blue: I hope it's short lived!
Sounds like some packed weekends for everyone!
I think I might head my butt into bed, it's midnight here. Gotta be up and to the Dr's office by 9:15am, and our Dr is back in the suburb I grew up in so it's a 35 minute drive. I will have to drag the kids out of bed, they have been sleeping in till well past 8:30 this last week due to daylight savings starting!

I had planned to get up early and walk but I just couldn't do it. I was so tired from staying up late last night to prep for my IVP test.
Why are you having an IVP?
I'm working this weekend. Normally that would mean spending a few hours at the hospital each morning but we're operating tomorrow. Shoot me!
My fantasy weekend is to go to a spa ALONE for the whole weekend! Like that would ever happen...

We have a very busy weekend ahead of us!! Tonight I go to a friends house to do some scrapping and generally hanging out with the girls. Then tomorrow I have to work for a couple hours in the AM, afterwards David has basket ball and then we are heading out to Disney to meet up with Shel and family. On our way home we will need to stop at Walmart to pick up a birthday present for one of David's friends. Then Sunday I will serve at both services at church and then we will go out to our weekly breakfast at Bob Evans. We will come home and start the weekly house chores and get ready for Victoria's birthday party at Build A Bear at 3pm. After the party I will more than likely go to the grocery to pick up some food. Not sure when I am going to be able to rest...but that's life I guess.
Kara: What is IVP????
Cami: I hope you pumpkin is feeling better!!

An IVP is a type of xray to look at the kidneys. They inject dye in a vein and take xrays of the kidneys when the dye reaches the kidneys.

Kara has Kidney stones, she was in severe pain a few days back (can't remember what day) and got diagnosed. It's all in her journal
Okay people, I am DEFINATELY going to bed now. I NEED to get to sleep.

Good night Deb! Have a great night sleep!
I so want to go back to bed with all Deb's talk about sleeping. I can't believe my children stayed at their grandmothers and yet I still had to get up. Timmy is being a doll and watching Little Einstein's but it is about ober and I am going to have to entertain him soon

November 3rd, 2006, 08:37 AM
Ouch Kara...that doesn't sound like fun at all...
We don't have much planned for this weekend.
Tonight I'm going to a Mary Kay party that is being hosted by one of the Moms of a kid in Jackson's class. I don't really want to go, but I'd like to get to know this group of Moms better, so I'm hoping it will be fun.
Tomorrow we start swimming lessons again (I have to go sign up today...whoops!), then I'm not sure what we'll be doing. I'm on call at work tomorrow night, but we are so over our hours in payroll I doubt I'll actually have to go in. If I don't have to go in, Scott and I will put the kids to bed early and have a nice dinner and some wine.
Sunday - no plans...need to think of something!
If money and babysitting were not an option, I'd go away for the weekend with just Scott...we haven't be away by ourselves since Jackson was born. I'd kind of like to go to NYC...or London, or maybe someplace warm...

Have a good night sleep..

No plans so far. If money and times zones were no object I'd go visit my Mom. She's still having a bit of trouble after her knee surgery. I think it's infected. :dead:
Cami, I hope Brady is feeling better!
Kara, ouch! :hug99:
Today is Freaky Friday at school and it is United Way Hat Day so for a toonie ($2 coin) kids can wear a hat in school. Mason is going to wear his army hat and pants. No shirt though, it's too small. Next week it is pyjama day in JK and then the week after the whole school is having Wacky Hair Day. I tried to find the wash out hair dye that is crazy colours but they don't make the kind I was thinking of getting anymore. MIL suggested a party store for spray in hair colour. There isn't much I can do with Mason's hair. I might spike it out crazy with an egg white or something. Crisco, I think that's what Calvin (and Hobbes) used for his school portrait.
Cami
November 3rd, 2006, 09:23 AM
Bev, can you use some spiky hair gel? And I think the party store would have paint too. What nutty things the school does!
Brady is moaning in his sleep. :( DH called and said he'd come home so he can stay with B while I pick up Addison from school and stuff. Amazing how a little s.e.x. makes DH so helpful.
Darcy
November 3rd, 2006, 09:27 AM
I'm so sorry about Brady, Cami. I hope he feels better. :hug99:
Yeah, we're heading up to Green Bay tomorrow. :dead: To see Phil's grandma. I don't mean to be so evil, but she doesn't really acknowledge us. We haven't heard from her in a year, and during that time we've had a baby. Maybe because we actually were married and had a baby she didn't even send a card. Yeah, her one grandson has 3 kids and isn't married to any of the moms. Whatever. Anyway, we haven't been up there since Phil's grandpa passed away last December. So we're going up there tomorrow and coming back Sunday.
At least there isn't a Packer game at home so we won't have to deal with traffic, but there goes the whole weekend. It's about a 3- to 4-hour drive.
Nichole
November 3rd, 2006, 12:12 PM
Happy Friday! :jesus:
I hope Brady is ok, Cami. :hug99:
We're going camping in the desert this weekend. :errr: I'm not much of a camper type, so it should be interesting.
If you had no restrictions of money, babysitters and distance what would you do with your weekend?
I'd hole up in a nice hotel all by myself and sleep.
Bev
November 3rd, 2006, 01:31 PM
Oh Darcy! I'd say have a good weekend, but it doesn't seem likely!! :hug99:
Cami, that never gets my DH to help out! I think I need something super duper strong to spike his hair, because it's curly. He changed his mind on his hat. Now he's wearing jeans, yellow t-shirt and a red Pirates of the Caribbean pirate bandana for his hat. I think only one other kid in his hat is wearing a hat for Hat Day.

Hey Bev, don't they make that mousse in colors anymore? It's usually by the regular hair color.
Oh, and I'd check now, especially with after Halloween clearance sales going on, but I could have sworn I saw some colored hairspray at Target or Walmart.
We're doing nothing this weekend. We never do anything.

November 3rd, 2006, 01:42 PM
I'd also hole up in a hotel all by myself and sleep. And enjoy being served.
Stagg wants to take the girls to a football game tonight with his mom. I told him he can take Maggie and I'll stay home with Katie because of her cough. And we'll go with them to dinner before the game.
Tomorrow, Stagg is taking Maggie & Morgan to a birthday party and I think he's going to take them out for a little something special beforehand... maybe Johnny rockets for some fries & a milkshake?
And on Sunday I am going to try to go to church. :faint: Maggie got some new clothes from Caroline (TtownAnne's) that are too nice for school. So now she wants to go to church. :giggle:

They have coloured hairspray at the party warehouse store for $2.99 but I don't know if that is, you know, clown coloured. KWIM? Like I don't want some light film of colour, I want Kool-Aid colour, but something that will wash out by Monday and I don't think Kool-Aid does that.
I was looking for that coloured mousse stuff at Wal-Mart because they used to have it on the very bottom row but I couldn't find any. I'm super disappointed actually. I mean, as if Mason cares, but I really wanted to do him up for this! I should try googling it.

I was in the ER Tues morning with extreme pain on my right side...then started vomiting.
They said I had a kidney stone. I saw the urologist Wed and he couldn't really tell by the xrays so I had the IVP yesterday. The bigger one they thought was a stone, he thinks is a calcification (can you clarify what that is?) but he thinks he might see 2 smaller ones 3mm or less..he doesn't want to leave them and have them possibly damage my kidney so he wants to do the IVP again in 3 weeks without the bowel prep and to call if I have any more pain, increased urination again, or different symptoms.

Y'all know how annoying it is with constant firecrackers/fireworks going off in the days leading up to July 4? That's how it is here right now, in preparation for Guy Fawkes Night on Nov 5 (when there are bonfires and big community fireworks displays). There's been a steady stream of loud firecrackers every night for the past three nights! I want to :hopmad:! Let my kids sleep!!!

When I get back, Alex will take Harry to tennis, then I'll take Em to ballet and Irish dancing. When that's all over, I'll start decorating the house in Wiggly colours :) Tomorrow morning I have to pick up the balloons at 8.30am, the cake at 10am and the party starts at 12pm :) It's supposed to be 31C tomorrow so I'm thinking of calling all of the guests and telling them to bring bathers and we'll put out the paddling pools and slip and slide :party3:
If money and babysitters weren't an obstacle, I'd re-enact my dream from the other night and meet Bridget and Anne in NYC for a girls weekend!

Cami - I hope that Brady is feeling better!! Sam puked in the car yesterday :dead: We'd been at the playground where he'd been drinking Fruits of the Forest juice and eating sand, so the puke was pink and sandy :puke: Nice!! He was a bit warm the rest of the night but slept okay, so I'm hoping it was just a one off :crossfing

Sandy puke. :dead: He can't be sick for his party!
Brady is a miserable little thing right now. I was holding him and finally gave up and put him to bed. He moans/whines/cries/coughs about every 20 minutes. He doesn't feel right and can't get comfortable.

Ew gross, Clare! I hope it was just a bad combo and that he'll be ok. :crossfing
I don't know what 31 is either. I know that 25C is room temp (~74ish) so 31 is pretty toasty.

My own formula I use is "double it and add 32" which gets you in the ballpark but off a bit. Good enough for my feeble brain.
eta: 31=88 acc. to the real formula.

Okay I am doing a quick fly by, we are doing improvements on the house today and I need to get to it, but had to come in and say :wavey:
Bridget, that sucks, I accidently insinuated someone was pregnant when she wasn't. I didn't flat out ask when she was due, but I did say something along the lines of "oh, so are you having another baby" it could have come across as me asking if they were having more OR if she was pregnant. Unfortunatley she wasn't pregnant and she did have slight horror on her face, but I palmed it off as my first attempt to ask if she was going to have more   I will NEVER do that again!
Cami: 31 is around 90ish.
We are actually having a mild day today. Weird.
Okay off to do some improvements

Cami, I hope Brady is feeling better. Tatum is a snot machine the past few days along with a lovely puke in the crib and lie down and fall back asleep event the night before last... she woke up, pulled down the blanket to show me... nice... the whole room smelled like puke all day. Gross.
We have no weekend plans except a swim lesson for Caroline tomorrow...
Money and babysitters no object... I think I'd just love to book a hotel room anywhere close by and hang out with my husband for a night have some cocktails, go for a walk and wake up without being in a Courtney and Caroline sandwich... That would be nice :)

Clare, I think the slip n slide is an excellent idea! Hope you have A/C.
That was funny Bridget! Nichole, did you watch the blooper reel? That was funny too. I originally was thinking there was going to be some sort of I'm Sorry card that apologized to a non-pregnant person for assuming they were pregnant.
:getwell: for Sam and Brady!

This weekend, I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy myself an early Christmas present. They have a 700 watt stand mixer on sale for $135, stainless steel and all, with all the attachments. It is their cooks brand, but wow 700 watts! Other than that.... not much, going to the gym, running my brains out.

A calcification is just something with calcium in it on xray. Bones have calcium, most (but not all) kidney stones have calcium, etc. Sometimes there are specks of calcium which can mimic stones but aren't stones. It sounds like that's what they think....

:wavey: I am sitting down and having a break from our spring cleaning. I have finished organising the kids bedroom.
We bought a storage unit thing from Ikea, and we bought wall brackets for their DVD and TV player and bought them a bug night light so Riley would stop coming into our room and night cause he gets scared of the dark. What do you guys think.
OH and please don't lynch mob me for having a TV and DVD in my kids room
The only thing left that I want to do is paint the room, the walls are destroyed, I'd like to do a theme of some sort in there

we fit so much in those organiser tubs! I got to individualize all there little nick nack toys. And under that stuff toy thing hanging under the TV is a big wooden chest with the rest of their toys!
Nothing flash but we are happy with it. Okay now off to work on the living area wish me luck!

Yeah, you should have seen the shit pile I had to sort through before it got to that stage, we also threw out alot of broken toys and gave away a tonne of toys they just don't play with anymore so it helped. The room is so small the start with, it's nice to have some organisation in there.
I hear you Silke, they have so many good storage idea's in there, I loved the children's ikea section it had so many cool things!! I had to utilise the short cuts so I could avoid big sections of the place or else I would have had my trolley LOADED ... more than it already was

It looks good Deb :aok: Does Jacob sleep in that room too? (I see his walker in there) That does not look like Riley in the bottom bunk! Who is that big kid???
MrsPeacefrog
November 4th, 2006, 03:08 AM
No, Jacob has his own room, but all toys are in the boys room. Jacob's room is kinda the storage room  We obviously haven't built the shed out the back yet so he is living amongst some storage items. And yes that's Riley (which you obviously know :giggle: ). Turning 3 magically makes them into little boys! Keep a close eye on Sam

Okay well we got our new coffee tables put into our lounge. So we accomplished the kids room and half the living area today.
Dad custom built them for us. Our lounge was a corner lounge but it was too short, so instead of getting another section of the lounge made, we inserted a coffee table into the centre of it. Plus we got two coffee tables built for either end with doors on the front to store things in. We are getting a door put in the coffee table in the centre there because I don't like the look of it open now that it's in there, plus Jacob will just grab everything out of there. On the left side I have my printer and laptop in that coffee cupboard, because that is my spot  Oh and we haven't biscuit jointed the lounge together yet as we are waiting for those to be delivered
I still need to paint the walls, and change the rug as it no longer goes with the colour lounge we have now. (we had dark blue before). And while Dad was here dropping off the coffee tables he measured up our TV area to build our entertainment unit! once that is done we will be complete with that part of the house.
Here is what it is looking like at the moment:

I love Ikea!!! When we were in CT there was one about a 1/2 hour from us and we would go once every two months or so. If it was a crappy day out, Katie and I would go for lunch and to walk around. I miss having one so close by, now we have to drive all the way up to DC practically.
Happy Saturday!!! DH made breakfast and now I'm still sitting in my PJs while he plays a game with Katie. :woo:

That's the one Lynn! Of course I don't know where Canton is but that's besides the point.
I don't know if I ever posted this but after I met Stacey (Stass), Julie and Sabrina at the Zoo (so help me I can't remember if there was someone else there and if there was I'm sorry!!) when we were coming back I knew I was supposed to take the I-75 exit but when I got there it said I-75 Toledo. I thought, I don't want to go to Toledo; I want to go to Canada. So then I passed it and then I realized Uh-Oh! That was my exit. So I thought, if I keep going straight, I'm bound to hit the Detroit River! And so I took the tunnel!
It all worked out. :aok: Of course I was scared stiff the whole time, but I'm better now.
Lynn
November 4th, 2006, 01:51 PM
:lol2: Bev. Hmmm..Toledo or Canada. :dunno: I lived on the east side of MI for awhile and I never could get used to driving ultra fast on 96 or 94 or 75. There was fast (like 10 miles above the speed limit fast) and then there was asshole fast (like 30 miles above the speed limit).
And then we moved to NY where driving 15 miles under the speed limit was the norm. :disbelief:
Anyway. I'm staying away from IKEA until after Christmas.
Alysia

MrsPeacefrog
November 4th, 2006, 05:10 PM
Oh yeah, you don't do Ikea on a weekend, you would have to be clinically crazy to even consider it :lol2:
:wavey: MORNING PEOPLE! well it's Sunday morning here, I am nursing a vodka fog, but nothing chronic, just foggy
It's 9am, Jacob and Riley just woke up about 30 minutes ago and are happily eating breakfast while watching Madagascar for the 1001st time, and Aiden is still asleep. :woa:
Plans for today, continue spring cleaning. We are focusing on Jacobs room today (should I say the storage room  ) the poor bubba sleeps amongst the boxes. Our house is so small we couldn't give up our storage room for the nursery, so everything on one side is storage items and his cot is on the other side. THIS we plan on clearing out to the best of our abilities so he can have most of his room back.
I think it's so awesome that you guys can drive to another country!! I loved that in Europe too, it spins me out, the only way I am driving to another country is to have a aqua car or to be tripping on serious LSD and not be aware my car is sinking in the Pacific Ocean
Bev
November 4th, 2006, 09:00 PM
Deb! They have a bus in Victoria that will take you on the ferry and over to Ikea shopping for the day and if you spend $250 (I think) yoiu get the bus/ferry ride for free. I never did that though.
I watched the rest of X-Men 3 while Graham was sleeping and was totally reminded of home. The Charles Xavier School for Gifted Children is actually Hatley Castle at Royal Roads and I lived about 3 minutes from there. I drove by it all the time. :)

I LOVE IKEA! I have furnished almost my whole house in IKEA  I usually buy from the 'as is' section and get 50% off most times. They used to have these awsome 'as is' sales where they would be open till midnight and the prices would get lower and lower until by 11:30 you could name your price and then do a song and dance and get it for any price you want. I once got a $250 cabinet for $15!! the only thing wrong with it was a small scratch in the back of it, that's it!

Deb and Bridget were just trying to increase their post counts with randomness. That's ok. I know I can't compete with these professionals!

Well if you knew me at all, Amanda. You would know that I am completely random irrelevant of this contest :snob:
I have street cred!
Sandy: I have insomnia lately, can't seem to turn my brain off hence the late bed times. Trust me if I had a choice it wouldn't be so late, I am now sitting here all tired and shit trying to get motivated to get the kids ready for daycare (YAY DAYCARE DAY TODAY!! I JUST HAVE 1 BABY TO TAKE CARE OF ALLLLLLL DAY :heee: )

Yep, she said almost all are prelit now so I didn't have a choice..She told me their policy though if something happens and it didn't sound too bad.
I got it at a local pool store, they do Christmas stuff in the winter months.

My goodness, you have all been chatty this weekend while I was away from OUAL. :faint: :help: I wish I could say I was having fun while I was away. We were supposed to be camping, but didn't end up going because I came down with the most wicked stomach bug I think I've ever had. It kicked in Friday evening, and I'm just now feeling almost better at 4:30pm on Sunday. Awful. I don't know if it was food poisoning or just a random virus... but ugh. :dead:
Anyway... you've given me lots to catch up on here. Looks like I won't be getting any work done at work tomorrow.

Clare! How did Sam's Wiggly party go? Did you start a thread about it yet?
When you posted that I was just collapsing into bed after finally getting rid of the last guests!! It went well enough, but for some reason I didn't seem to have enough food :dunno: I'm normally notorious as an over-caterer, there's always tons of food and I end up throwing a heap of it out, so this time I decided not to go overboard on food and there wasn't enough :duh: Oh well, kids all had fun. I'll upload my pics and post them in Party planning soon.Just having a cup of tea to try to wake up!
I'm not a big Ikea fan :dunno: It's okay but I don't feel the Ikea love like most people do!
Glad to hear you're feeling a little better, Nichole. That really sucks :(

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm just so happy to be feeling better. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! It was both, Bridget. :dead: Awful, awful, awful. The kind where you just about have to "sleep" on the bathroom floor.
I'm glad the party went well, Clare. :) Sorry about the food situation. I'm a notorious over caterer, too. I learned it from my mom, who once went to a dinner party where the hostess made just enough so everyone got one serving of everything. Nothing extra. We still hear about that. :giggle:

Oh Clare, that's my biggest fear, running out of food at a party! that is the wog in me, it's been inbred into me to over cater at any cost! :lol2:
Glad it went well though, can't wait to see the pics

It's okay Clare, the only reason I love it is because I can buy very cheap furniture that looks nice while my Dh is in school. After he graduates and is making the big bucks ;) and we actually buy a house, the IKEA will all go down into the basement and then it's Restoration Hardware all the way baby!!
