Since the last thing you want to do after you get a sleeping baby in the crib is wake them up when you put the rail up, what can I use to lubricate the railing? It squeaks most of the time. And I'd rather not use WD40 on something that is so near to her. Suggestions on something less toxic, maybe wax from a candle? Cooking oils?

Good old fashioned bar soap! And it smells good too!
Or you could use vegetable oil on a cloth and apply it that way.

Off to use the bar of Dove. Wouldn't have thought of that, thanks.

A beeswax candle would probably work, too. (yummy smell!)
