Purdy please :)

We painted our living room um a month and a half ago and took down our old lights which I now hate so we have bare walls and need to get our butts in gear and pick something..
the problem is the wall is pretty long and from the top of our couch to the wall top is a good 4 ft which is alot of wall for little light fixtures..I think it needs something long/big? so I found these 2

what do you think?

I have a pic of the wall but can't post it right now 'cause my camera battery is dead, I will post the pic this afternoon when I get back from shopping.

Honestly I like both lights but I don't like how the second one attaches to the wall. (The big long board on the wall. I think the second one is more classic!

I like the second one but I don't think I'm a fan of lights that open to the top. I don't think they do a good job of lighting. But that won't matter if they are more for effect. :)

I also like the 2nd one. It seems more classic to me, as well.

I like the second one...just nicer looking to me.

I like the second one better. It looks very sophisticated. :)

I picked the first one, but i have to say, i like them both, and it would be easier to determine which one if we had a pic of your wall... purdy please?

Not really a fan of either light. :shuffle: But out of the 2, I think I like the second one the best. :)

I'd pick #2

I like #1 the best but I dont really feel confident in picking one without seeing how the rest of the room is setup/decorated!

I think I like #2 the best. Although I would be more confident if I saw the wall.

I voted for #2 but yeah, a shot of the wall would be good.

I like the second one, depending on where it is hung, I'd be afraid of hitting my head on the exposed end. But that's just me.

Hmm.. well I don't necessarily think it needs something long. Out of the two you have there I would probably go the first one, but still doesn't have a totally right feel for me.

Can I be a pain in the butt can you edit the wall picture post to have the light fixtures with it so I can see it closer together  I don't ask for much hey!

Is that better Deb?

LISA
November 3rd, 2006, 07:15 AM
Oh man all that work and it's the crappiest picture :tearhair: the wall isn't that red, more of a mahogony colour and the couch isn't that light, the bottom and back of the couch is a chocolate brown if that helps.

MrsPeacefrog

yes much better, now that I look at it that way I would have to say that number 1 would still be my option out of those two. But I would also run my decision based on what your other furnishings look like :giggle: Can I be anymore fussy?

LISA

LOL Deb! ok here is a better pic of the furniture

and on the same wall as the couch near the window I have this mirror

the pic I'm thinking of getting has an asian theme to it, bamboo shoots I think  It's at Zellers, can't find a pic of it online..

I picked #2 but I think it is a better photo. Oh well they will both look nice there.

MrsPeacefrog

Ok, well now that I see that, and you are talking of an asian theme I am thinking more straight lines and hence light number 2 would fit better.

Did I succeed in absolutely confusing you?

Karri

I am picking this one
http://image.lightingshowplace.com/prodimages/hforge/206251.jpg

the other one reminds me of something you'd see in a waiting room at a Dr/Dentist :shuffle:

However, all that said, I am not sure even the above one *goes* with the furniture.

Looks good. You could also do a grouping of pictures or smaller mirrors if you can't find something you like that fills the spot.

I really like them. Turned out nice!
