I broke down and tested [/url] and I think I am seeing a very very very faint line because I have never saw that really pale of a line before when I used them, Steve said he didn't see anything but I seen the same line as I seen in the bathroom under darker lights as I seen in the day light ( I went outside quick to look (http://www.onceuponalife.com/forums/subscriptions.php)) I just got done drinking alot of diet caffeine free orange soda because I was thirsty big time so not sure if what I am seeing is a line or maybe if it is I might of diluted it to much by drinking 3- 8oz plastic cups of DCFO soda in a matter of a half hour I saved the test and stuck it up in the cupboard and I will go back and look at it then later and see if that line is there or not or maybe I am just seeing things. Melissa, How did your ultrasound go?

It went good. I have good news and not so good news. The good news.. clomid worked!! The not to so good...I am ovulating on my right side (no tube) so I am not feeling very lucky that this will be my month. The doctor said to go ahead and try that you never know..he has seen cases where the egg travels over to the tube and the woman gets pregnant. He suggested :sex: definitely on Sunday but recommended every day. We will definitely try...you can never give up hope!!!

Thanks girls, I didn't use any OPK's at all. I'm still not sure about me being PG because about 2 hours ago I had a ton of CM and it was clear on the tp but couldn't stretch it or get any off. When I checked my cervix it was creamy. So I don't know :sigh: I'm not offically late until CD28.

I'm using the $1 Tree tests by the way.

Ummm....Melissa, do you remember Jenny? Dori's sister? The month she conceived her second one, she o'd from the side with no tube and she also wrote off that month......and that little eggie traveled over to the other side of her body to the other tube and implanted and now she has a baby girlo! :) You never know.....

Tab - I also had EW after I o'd this last cycle.....unless AF arrives, you're still in the game! :rahrah: I've got everything crossed for you!!! :pray:

I had a faint positive Friday night and then yesterday I took 2 more tests and they were negative. So go figure!! I started spotting as soon as I woke up this morning and I am only still spotting, so I think by either later today or tomorrow AF will be here.

Yes, Miss Olivia is proof that you can ovulate on one side and your opposite fallopian tube will pick it up. Good Luck Melissa! I hope you don't have to be on clomid too much longer, if at all. Clomid really screws with your mind and I personally found it harder than my normal hormones being out of whack during pregnancy. It was worth it though. She is wonderful.

I see Congratulations are also in order to Shannon! I am so happy to see you got your BFP!

A girl on BOLU said I might of had a chemical pregnancy, so does that mean I miscarried? I didn't think it would effect me but at work today I cried because I thought I did something wrong :( in order for it to happen, this just sucks :bawl:

Tab-- I dont know much about chemical PGs but I would definitely call your OB asap if you think thats a possibility!

Alysia has a good idea. They may be able to run tests to see if your HCG is elevated. Then you would know.

Thank you Amanda. I think I have some dud tests, I had another faint :bfp: last night since my period has been really whacked out, I pretty much spotted most of the time and it was a only light flow for a few hours each day the rest of the time I spotted so thats why I tested again. I think my tests are coming up false postitive since it did it again last night :dunno: My spotting ended last night and I haven't had anything since :crazy:

Tab- I still think you should go to the doctor. You shouldn't be getting false positives unless you are looking at the tests much longer after the allotted time passes and you are actually seeing an evap line.

I agree..you need to get in to see your doctor. They can draw up some blood and tell you what's going on.

It takes forever to get into my OB's so I will wait and see when this cycle ends and see whats going on then if I am still having problems. The tests I used was from the $1 Tree. I think next time I will just go use the real kind and pay more money instead of dealing with these $1 tests!

Tabitha - I would definitely call the dr. I've heard many stories of women who "knew" they weren't pregnant because they "got AF" only to find out that it was just early spotting.

Also, your temps are above the coverline isn't it?

Add me to those asking for you to go to the doctor, due to the light period / spotting and the temps above the coverline. It can't hurt to call and explain that you've had some positives, some negatives, spotting, and your temps are above coverline. They've got to be able to get you in early, or send you for bloodwork.

The $ store tests should be OK, but try something like Walgreens or CVS - a store brand. I think a one pack is less than $6, where it's about $9 in the brand names. The box might say something about manufactured by Inverness.

I"m going to wait it out a little :heee: The girls on CL think I should get a real test and test again since my temps are back up but not anywhere near what they were so I'm not thinking I am PG :sigh:

Tabitha, I think it would be worth it to either get another test, or try to get into the dr. just for piece of mind. At least then you would know one way or the other.

If my temps are still up tomorrow I will stop on the way home and get another test and then Saturday morning. Can you tell I am cheap and don't want to waste the money on blood work or the OB :lol: now if I really felt I was PG I would be all over getting the blood work done and going to the OB :nod:

I think your chart is looking fantastic, Melissa. I don't think you should worry about clomid induced symptoms or PMS symptoms and so on, with all 3 of my pregnancies (2 clomid pregnancies and 1 natural) all my symptoms were different, so who the heck knows what's what! :lol:

No not really seeing how I don't really know when to expect AF to show...this cycle is soo weird and out of whack. Not sure if my 2WW is actually 14 days like normal or if my cycle is going to continue on with the 28-31 days like it normally does. :bitenails I have no idea....

Tomorrow will be 10 dpo. Others can weigh in, but maybe test on 12 dpo (Sunday). That will be 6 days after the dip you had.

:lol: You guys are too funny. I will probably wait to see what my temps look like on DPO13. They usually take a nose dive then and if the temps are still up then I will test.

Lena - Of course I remember you! How are you? We are doing well. Emma turned four in August and Olivia was born on 4/30 so she is six months old now. Olivia is the easiest baby!!! Emma is doing great too. She is in preschool and still taking gymnastics. Dori and Lauren are doing great. They are still working on a little brother or sister for Lauren. Dori has suffered a couple of miscarriages on top of having trouble conceiving in the first place so their next step is a meeting with a fertility specialist.

Jenny let Dori know she is in my prayers. I think of her so often and wonder how she is doing.

We do miss you both around here, Jenny!! :hug99:

I think it's safe to say I will not be testing anytime soon. My temps took a major nose dive. So unless they jump back up tomorrow then this cycle is done and I am just waiting for AF. Then on to round two of clomid and hopefully I ovulate on the left side and can get my :bfp: then. :dunno:

Getting depressed, upset and angry does nothing. I handed this over to God a few months back and I have faith that it will happen..in His time. I get my strength and courage from Him.

Well I called the dr this am to get my script. They are going to call it in today. So Thursday I will start again. They aren't sure how they are going to do the ultrasound seeing that CD 14 will be on Saturday and they are closed Thursday and Friday. She will have the dr call me back. ;)

I just glanced at my other cycles and yeah your right, I wonder if it will mean anything :crossfing: .. The only symptoms I've had so far are tender boobs and today I've had a headache all day and didn't take anything just in case :heee: other then that nothen else yet.

My usual wake time is 2:30 and thats when I temp, well a girl called me late I think around 11:30 and I didn't get to bed until after midnight for the second time (she woke me up out of my sleep) I was doing payments for everyone from her show (Pampered Chef) then submitting it and thats why I never got to bed until after midnight anyway I woke up around 3am and temped and it was 98.18 so I charted it anyway. Well then I went back to sleep and this time had over 3 full hours of sleep and it was 98.60 so which would you girls put in?

What brand should I consider? How do they work? Everything:)

Use the temp after 3+ hrs of sleep - that's a tricky situation b/c the first one was your usual time, but wasn't after 3 hrs of sleep. Either way, it's still a good high temp.

Melissa - I dont know if you remember... but back when I was ttc Lauren, someone posted a secret recipe for some WICKED amazing brownies. If I remember correctly, they were renamed "Fertility Brownies". :) All I know, I conceived Lauren the cycle I made and devowered these brownies. SO - here is that recipe and I wish you (and everyone else) the same luck :)

1c butter
2c white sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2/3c unsweetened cocoa powder
1c all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2-1c semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional but OOOOOH so good, esp when under the influence of Clomid ;) hah! )

Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
Grease and flour 9x13" pan.
In a large saucepan, melt butter.
Remove from heat, stin in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Beat in cocoa powder, flour and salt.
If desired (but HIGHLY recommended ;) ) add semi-sweet chocolate chips and mix well.
Spread batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
DO NOT OVERCOOK!

What are your cycles usually like? I would never test before I was late..but I have also been getting :bfn: for 2 years and have come to an understanding with my body. I usually won't test until 14-16dpo and high temps....but that's just me.

They're usually nothing like this one - it's been odd since the beginning! But then again, I haven't felt this way for a long time. Just before lunchtime I got absolutely nautious for the billionth time - and had heartburn all yesterday to the point of sleeping sitting upright. That and poor dh couldn't even go near my bb's without me screeching in pain! They usually get sore - but this sore is ludacris!!

Personally I would hold off....

My temps already started to drop today and I'm only on CD22 9DPO, AF isn't suppose to show til Saturday but I've had cramps all day today, my lower back was hurting this morning, I've had stinken heartburn all day today and I've been thristy too so needless to say the witch is right around the corner for me :(

Mine are 2-3 days of light My last cycle I only had it 2 days and it was light then went to spotting then went to light and then spotting the rest of the time. That was a weird cycle for me because I mainly spotted the whole time with the exception of having a very light flow off and on but was mainly spotting.

So, my temps are going to that wacky stage again :rolleyes: Yesterday morning my temp was 97.18 well this morning it jumped all the way up to 98.28 and I'm only spotting again :rolleyes: I so hate when AF comes to town and messes with me and not to mention my temps messing with me :( I wasn't even covered up either when I woke up and it feels cool in here (the temp is set at 62 degrees) but yet my temp sky rocketed this morning! I have been so stinken thirsty since Wednesday and been so tired. Not sure what the heck is going on!!! I don't think I am PG though because I passed a small clot when I peed yesterday (I seen it in the commode)! It's been a light flow and spotting again! :gah:

Paul and I had a talk last night. I told him I was tired of scheduling sex and wanted things back the way they were in the early days - full of passion and lust. :brow: So...the temping is going away and we'll just do....stuff...when the mood strikes and we'll see what happens. However, we did make a committment to not be so tired all the time and choosing sleep over sex WAY too often. :lol:

Just a little vent.....so I had someone on another site do a free "reading"....I asked her about having children. She said that she doesn't see me having any biological children. :tear: I don't believe in those types of things, but thought it would be fun to see what she said. Now I really wish I hadn't. I'm sorry you got news like that Jackie. :hug99: I had someone do a reading for a couple of friends of mine a while back who were having TTC problems.....and was told that both would have to adopt if they wanted kids. One has twins now....and the other has a gorgeous baby girl born a couple of months ago. :)

You never know what the Universe has in store for you.....and what might seem like reality now can change with the next breath of wind. Hang in there and keep seeing yourself with a BIG belly and holding your perfect newborn in your arms. It'll happen.....

I started using OPK's today and I had a faint line what do I stick down in FF for the OPK? I've never done OPK's before so I am clueless on what they mean and how you mark it on Fertility Friend.

Tab, the test line has to be the exact same color OR darker than the control line for it to be a +. if it's lighter then it's considered a -.

We had our ultrasound this morning. I have about 4 follies that are decent sized. My lining is 8mm with a triple stripe pattern. :D I triggered at 4 this afternoon, then we go back on Monday morning for the IUI.

It was quite the site for the trigger. I was Christmas shopping at the mall at 4:00, so my sister gave me the shot in the mall parking lot. Hopefully nobody thought I was shooting up drugs. :lol3:

I also asked the dr. what would happen if this IUI isn't successful. He said that because our main problem is male factor, our best bet would be to move onto IVF. So if this cycle doesn't work, then we'll be moving onto IVF in the new year.

CD11-High-DH went hunting couldn't BD.. CM=W

I had an ectopic PG in Feb, this year after having a tubal reversal on 12/30/05. My tube ruptured so I'm down to only my left tube. My question is, I had those high's and peaks on my FM but I still havn't had a rise in my BBT. Does this mean the FM is wrong? Or does it take a while for my BBT to rise after O'ing? Sorry for the book, but I'm so confused....

You're barking up the wrong tree if you think I've got any answers about that stuff! It's ALL Greek to me baby!!!!!!!

I tested 2 days in a row with a faint line on my OPK now today I didn't get any line so what does that mean?

From my limited memory, you should get faint lines, then a bright one indicating ovulation within the next day or two, and then I don't know if the lines are supposed to go away, or get lighter again.

Did you use the OPK at about the same time, and with concentrated urine? (what I remember was you should test mid day, I remember testing around lunch time)

I tested at 3pm everyday so far and I haven't drank anything with in the 3 hour time frame although my test says 2 hour time frame. So I'm not sure what to make of it, this is my first time using OPK's but I will keep testing for 2 more days then go get more tests not unless I O in the mean time which I have been O on CD13 for the past 2 months now.

Tabitha: 2 faint lines means you haven't ovulated yet. You are getting close. The test line has to be the same color or darker in order for O to be on her way. You may get a + tomorrow or next day...depending on when you normally O. You can go ahead and :sex: just to be on th safe side. The OPK's are not always accurate.

Thanks Melissa! I wasn't sure what to think of todays test since there wasn't any line under the test line after I had 2 faint lines.

Tabitha - Are you pretty regular? I'm not at all and whenever I tried to use OPKs it was a disaster. I would get days of 2 faint lines without ever ovulating. I know that I can't really use OPKs because my cycles aren't normal. I know that's not super helpful but that's my limited knowledge of OPKs. For people with super normal cycles, they work great. For people like me, they're a waste of time and money!

Yes, mine are regular. I normally get it about 26 to 27 days mostly. I've been O on CD13 now. Use to be CD14 -16.

Tabitha, I'm not sure what to make of your OPKs. I never had good luck with them. I had a hard time reading what was positive and what wasn't.

The IUI went pretty well today. DH's count was 39.5 million with 84% motility. Now we wait......I really hope this 2ww goes by quickly!

Well my temp dropped lower this morning. I have been cramping all day...just waiting for AF to come and knock on my door. Or as customary for her, bang down the door and demand attention with her little buttheads, cramps and moody. :lol: I have to laugh or I will cry. I hate clomid and how I feel. I can tell a difference. I am have been so much more touchy since taking clomid and I just wish it would all end. AF is worse and so is the cramps. I HATE IT!!!! Sorry I am just feeling a bit sorry for myself I guess. It's not like I am the only person in the world who is dealing with this.....but right now I fell like I am. :mope:

Are they going to up your dose of clomid, I hated it too when it didn't work and I questioned why I was putting myself through the pain when it wasn't even working, but I quickly fell inlove with it and forgot all the nasty side effects once it worked for me! Thanks guys. I think right now we are going to stay with the same dosage. I want to give it a fair chance when I O on the left side. This past time I didn't really get to with my dad being here. I figure 6 months would be a good amount of time to see if it works before talking about upping the dosage. You know what really sucks??? When David comes and sits in my lap and asks me "Mommy. :bitenails now how did my news travel so fast when I only posted it a few hours ago in my other journal and had to leave quick :bitenails Ummmm I just got a faint :bfp: :gimi: :bliss: I ran the test over to my sisters quick so she could see before we left to go out to eat which I couldn't really eat because the chicken was to greasy and made me nauseated or my stomach is in knots. The reason I tested so early was because it was my birthday and I wanted to see if I would get a :bfp: or not and well I did :bliss: I tested again this morning and got another :bfp: it's still faint but it's a plus (different test) I'm charging my camera to see if you guys will be able to see it because when I scanned it it whited out my + so I couldn't post it!

Today at work this morning, I had this severe pain in my right ovarie so not sure what to think of that. I went to the bathroom to see if I ws bleeding or anything but I wasn't so I don't know what that may have been.

Can you girls see this now? This is my 11 DPO test from this morning and I think you are able to finally see it. I hope anyway. My other ones I scanned the other day kept whiting out my :bfp: thats how light it was and when I tried taking pics my flash completely whited it out. I hadn't thought about posting in this forum before this, but since I'm in the freakin' freak-out freak-show 2ww, I need a place to go insane :lol:

I guess that makes me a newbie, whodathunk that was possible after all these years on the board? :lol: A quick intro, I'm Kristen, married to Frank for 6.5 years, with 2 boys Zack (almost 5) and Mason (2 1/2). Long story short, I am trying to be a surrogate mom for one of my best friends after her 8-year battle with breast/lymph node cancer and pcos. We had the transfer on Friday 12/15, and I'm scheduled for a beta on 12/27, and am now OFFICALLY FREAKING OUT!!!! :lol:

2 embies went in, and now I'm just sitting here tapping my fingers. I can tell you right now there is NO WAY I'm holding out for the beta. I'm going to test on Christmas, I figure that will be a nice present for her and her dh :) and that does cut 2 days off of the madness, but that still leaves me 7 days of insanity.

Not really holding out on you. I have wanted to for a long while now but I had to convinse DH that there is never going to be a perfect time and Alyssa is going to be 6 next year and in K all day. I need a baby :lol:

I have been on some meds lately (Zoloft) I called the doctor and had him take me off of it today. I have been so knumb lately and I have no emotions at all. I also am more exhausted then ever so It will be a bumpy couple of days. He told me to refil my prescription and step down, using half pills and then every other day but I just don't want to deal with the money for that so I am going cold turkey. I can't even begin to imagine what my symptoms are going to do :lol:

I can only see one of your previous charts. When does AF ususally show? 14DPO? I would just hang tight. But then again that's me and I tend to be on the cautious side since I have been going at this for nearly 3 years. :dunno:

Jen, where is the temp from today? :tapfoot: :lol: I want to look at your chart to see how you are doing! looking good so far, but like Melissa said, your AF shows up around DPO14, acc to October chart, so it's early in the game yet to tell..

AF is a hag to me.. anywhere from 14 to 18 dpo.. it's not fair. You'd think I'd have learned that it takes this long (dd was a year and a half to conceive) but any sign of hope is a good one!!

Well I have some great news to share!! I went and had my u/s done today. I am ovulating on the left side (that's where my tube is)!!!!! I believe that I O'd on my left side last month so this is truly a blessing!!! I am just so excited! I prayed on my way back to work that I receive a Christmas miracle this year. I am even willing to give up all my presents just to get a :bfp:!!! Please keep me in your prayers!!! I really appreciate it!!! Baby making will start tonight and go until the 26th as per doctor's orders!!!!! Dave has been in training this week so we should be good!!!! :bliss: OMG I can't believe this!!! I am just so excited. Sorry for rambling on and on and on....:lol:

Dan and I had a talk two nights ago. He seemed to be changing his mind. We talked well into the night and had a deep conversation. I really thought that he wasn't into it just now. He has a lot of valid concerns and I promised him that in no way shape or form would I do this if it wasn't something his heart was in. So he thought about it and then last night when we went to bed he said that no time is ever perfect. He knows how much I feel that our family is lacking something and that I feel incomplete. He said that he loved me and that he wanted nothing more then to have a complete family! So we are on track and went for it. Only time will tell but I am so happy!

So I have a question. For the first time ever last night after...well I went to the bathroom and there was blood. I don't know that I have ever had that. It was only there that time and not there again 10 minutes later. it isn't there today either. Any clues???

Sorry to hear the old bat found you this month Jen. That really sucks!!!

I don't think this month is going to be it. I have thrown up the last 3 days but I think it is more my cold. I have no feelings of being pg. I know it is early but After going through this twice I usually feel something :dunno: Everyone is going to know something is up if I don't have a drink NYE. Dan doesn't want to tell people just yet and I understand that but at the same time while I don't drink I do try and have a few on NYE :dunno: I don't know what to do :lol: I think I want this so bad I am doubting myself. Just having one of those days and it is only 8am :cry:

Just tell them that you aren't feeling well and don't want to add drinking to the mix!!

Ah well, at least now I can go to the doc and tell him to do something with me since NOTHING is normal LOL (like that's a big surprise to anyone who knows me.. Jen... Normal.. same sentence? HAH!!)

Well ...Someone is playing tricks on me. After I was done posting here I went on to get the kids breakfast and take Timmy up for his normal nap when all of a sudden I got really sick. I was throwing up in the bathroom before I knew it and believe me it wasn't from coughing or flem. We will see.

Jayne, do you normally start throwing up from colds? I mean, maybe you do but that line struck me as odd.

I don't but I have a lot of flem and my asthma is causing me to cough a lot and bring that up. So it made me cough so much I got sick..but then this morning was not from coughing at all. I got sick.

With Tylor I wasn't sick at all..but with Alyssa I honestly threw up the day after we conceived her. :dunno:

I won't test until at least this Saturday. The way my chart usually goes everything is good until 13DPO and then my temps drop.

I'm about to throw my hat into the TTCing ring, too. I'm 13 DPO today. Not super optimistic as I tested yesterday and got a BFN. My temp is still up today but I tend to have a long LP so that's no shocker. As soon as AF arrives, I'll post a link to my new chart.

We are trying au naturel until July. At that point we'll return to my RE and start the miracle drugs again. Sadly, all of our embryos died when we thawed them for my last FET (which was before I got pregnant with Jessica) so we don't have anything left. Jessica was injections with IUI so I'm hoping that we can at least avoid IVF this time. I had a few "normal" 35 day cycles since Jessica was born but this last cycle has been about 60 days. I definitely O'ed about 13 days ago. I'm hoping that I'll have more regular cycles again and this long cycle was just stress-induced. I keep feeling like AF should be showing up but nothing yet.

I don't know what to think of my symptoms. I am still feeling icky with this asthma thing but I am having a lot of twinges on my right side. I don't know what that means. Honestly I have only ever done the 2WW thing once and I threw up every single day. I didn't care about symptoms at that point. With Tylor I was 5 months pg before I knew it :lol: so no waiting there. I just felt movement :lol: Denial can do a lot for a girl.

I am still feeling a little nausceous (I really have no idea how to spell that word :lol: ) and I seem to be eating like crazy but who knows what that is.

Just peeing a lot, tender bb's, crying over every little thing, eating everything I can get my hands on, weird cramp like feelings down there...but not AF crampy like..kwim? and then today I am having mild nausea. No big deal.....:bitenails :bitenails :bitenails

Yep Lena..I thought I was pg in September with him but I had continued af and I went to a clinic and they said I was not pg. So I went on with my life. (I was 18. I would believe anything) but the day after Christmas I felt some movement in my stomach..Turns out I was 5 months pg~!

It was the shortest 9months of my life :lol:

My temp is still high today so we'll see. I'm 14 DPO. Even when I was taking fertility drugs, I would sometimes have really long LPs so I'm not getting my hopes up too high. Seriously, I wouldn't get AF until like 16 DPO. My RE couldn't even figure it out! Ah the joys of having an f'ed up system.... :lol:

I am having some weird pains in my lower stomach and still not feeling well. I tried to throw up three times this morning and everything is making me gag :dunno:

I won't test until MOnday at the earliest..well unless Melissa gets a :bfp: that may tempt me to go sooner :lol:

I have been so reluctant. What test will you be using. I haven't tested in so long I don't know what is best to use. NOt to mention it will still be early as I am not due to start until at least the 7th.

I am going to have to buy some too. I am not sure. I used to use EPT but now they have changed them and was told that they weren't as good as they used to be. Maybe someone here can recommend some good hpt's. ;) How odd...I am due to start the 6th. Keep in mind that I will only be testing if my temps stay up.... :ok:

I wish I would have tempt this month. I really didn't know for sure we would be doing this. Not to mention I have never done that. It would be neat to see how my system worked.

Ok..so because I am not all with it this morning..your saying the AimStick Pregnancy Test Strip 20 mIU is the best to use early..but maybe any of the 25mIU would be ok?

If it helps, they are listed in order from the most sensitive to the least... the most sensitive being best as it will detect the smallest amount of hcg in your system.

I think the Aimstick which detects 20ml is the best one, but I think that's only available on the internet. Then there are quite a few that detect 25ml, which is still really low/very good. The ClearBlue's and First Response are probably the most widely available tests in the 25ml group, I use First Response. I would stay away from store brands, they're mostly in the 50-100ml range... why do that when you could detect 25ml? :lol: (except the Walrgreen Digital which is a 25-er! :dude: )

ETA: First Response gave me a faint positive 2.5 hours before the beta, when my hcg turned out to be only 16... so I'll plug FR for detecting REEEAAALLY low levels of hcg, only YOURS WILL BE GOING UP!!! :banana:

Jayne and Melissa, I know you are anxious, but you can honestly go with the Dollar Store tests...I know pg tests can be pricey and the dollar ones are still pretty accurate.. you can test first one few ones with those and buy 1-2 more expensive ones just to confirm. I had no idea about the Dollar store with Nikita and spent waaaay too much money at Walgreen's. Next time, that's the route I'm going. That or Ebay.

I want one that 1 line = not pregnant and 2 lines = pregnant...like the old ept used to do...I loved those!!!

Melissa, the ones I get from the Dollar Store are like that!

Btw, how are you feeling today? what symptoms are you having today?

I've seen that list, too. If you wait until AF is late, you don't need the super sensitive ones anyway!

Odd is the best way to explain it. About 2 hours after I eat I get this knot right under my rib cage..like my stomach area. Acid Reflux?? I have had some cramps today that felt a little like AF..but different. Not peeing as much and no nausea. I have been a little sharp tongued but hell that's nothing new for me..it's just a little more out there today. I am kinda having second thoughts about being pregnant this round. Maybe I am thinking way to much about this.. :dunno:

BTW, the average hcg on 14DPO is 49 and the range is from 19 to 117. So I still think the more sensitive test, the better. (It should double every other day.) Even if af is already late, you could be pg and it might not register on that 100ml test at the bottom of the list for several days. Who needs that kind of torture? :crazy:

Sorry guys! I wasn't here for a few days and didn't update anything. I was wrong with my LMP anyways. I wasn't "trying" but I wasn't preventing either. We weren't supposed to TTC until Fall 07, but I guess you could say we were OTL until then.

It's totally been my history with all of my treatments. Every BFN cycle where I took an HPT, I then got AF later that same day. And it doesn't matter which day I test. That will be the day that AF arrives!

So tonight while I was cooking diner and putting it on the table I got a bit queasy. I got myself a glass of oj (it calms my stomach for some reason) and sat down to eat. Once I got started I felt better but almost immediately after I felt like I was going to hurl. That feeling came back like there was a lid to my stomach and it was closed and the food wouldn't go down. Ugh..I hate that feeling. I kinda think it's my acid reflux..not sure.

I must say that having a long LP may be good for implantation but it sucks for pregnancy testing!!! :lol:

I have to say, I am exhausted and strangly my stomach hurts like crazy...it is more on the outside. I am eating like crazy. I have got to stop. I am going to be a blimp and find out I am not pg or something. Well I am already a blimp but a worse blimp :lol: I am drinking orange juice now. I drink a lot of Diet coke usually and I am trying to cut back. I get major migranes without it all together but I have to put it off a bit. I need to get on the water kick also

I am now 16 DPO and my temp was still 98.0 this morning. I know that sounds fabulously promising but, trust me, it doesn't mean much for my body. I've had luteal phases this long before and not been pregnant. Just waiting it out. With both Jessica and Nathaniel I had early BFPs so I'm not super optimistic. I know anything's possible but I just don't think this is it.

Deb, The doctor actually had me drink my Diet coke during Alyssa's pg. I was so sick..(Throwing up daily, in the hospital dehydrated and such) he wanted me to get something in me and he said it was better to have a little diet coke then be a miserable mess. I had the worst headaches and such. I just want to try and cut back. Right now I can drink anywhere from 4-8 cans a day..That is bad

when you temp, do you do it through your mouth..do you take face value of that or do you add anything?

Most of us use a BBT (Basil Body Temperature) thermometer, which is more exact than a regular fever thermometer. It looks the same, and you temp the same way under your tongue until it beeps. Then you plot it in the chart, using the exact # it gave you. (you only change it if, for example, you woke up and temped at 5 AM where you normally temp at 7 AM.)

Jayne: You can take your temp orally or vaginally. I prefer orally. They say that vaginally is more accurate if you sleep with your mouth open or snore....I just can't bring myself to do it that way. They sell the BBT in Walmart, CVS, Walgreens. I got mine at Walmart. Main thing is to do it the same time every day.

Melissa, I am glad you posted that. I have b een thinking about it all morning and I talked to DH and he doesn't want me to test yet. He thinks it is to soon and he thinks that I will be dissappointed if it is Negative and early. We are waiting till I am supposed to start and that is monday or tuesday!

I am now 16 DPO and my temp was still 98.0 this morning. I know that sounds fabulously promising but, trust me, it doesn't mean much for my body. I've had luteal phases this long before and not been pregnant. Just waiting it out. With both Jessica and Nathaniel I had early BFPs so I'm not super optimistic. I know anything's possible but I just don't think this is it.

SO tonight I am holding my friends 8 month old and putting him to sleep. He was so tired so I took him upstairs and rocked him. Well..I kid you not my boobs ached....And I am engorged now. He isn't even a nursing baby. I gues I will try this temping this time. I don't have a BBT thermometer. I have a regular one. Can I use that or should I go buy one tomorrow. I won't have a temp for the first day if I wait though. (I am not going to walmart at 2am.)

What is bad is that I just have always known how fertile I was. This is honestly the first time I have ever tried to get pg and it not happen. I know so many of you struggle and I am so sorry that you deal with this as much as you do. I don't know how I would do it month in and month out. :hug99:

As for the thermometer, I would get a BBT one. I got rid of my extra, or I'd send it to you. Don't stress about getting one immediately. I usually gave myself a 4 day break from temping when AF was around. I mean, you're not likely to O during those first 4 days, right?
Take your temp *first thing* in the morning - before your feet ever touch the floor!! And make it's after at least 3 hours of good sleep. I kept a clipboard with my chart beside the bed and the thermometer on my nightstand - easy. :)

Hopefully it won't come to temping. Maybe you could try just seeing what happens over the next couple of months and save your $10. :) I'll bet next month will be the lucky one!

I'm out, too. AF arrived with a venegance this morning. I've been super b*tchy all week so I should have known! I swear I'm going to TRY to not test next cycle until AF is truly late. It's hard because I do have a long LP (this one was 16 days) so it means waiting even longer to test. I'm totally ok with it because it's really better for me not to be pregnant yet. My boss made a comment yesterday about our nurse practitioner who has 2 kids and recently had a miscarriage. He was saying, "Why would she want all those kids anyway?" :rolleyes: If I get pregnant now, I may not really be showing yet when I graduate from here so I won't have to deal with him!

no, Melissa, you shouldn't :) Your temps usually take a nose dive when the cycle is done. So until then, I would say hang in there and try not to overanalize it. It still looks very, very good!

I had to go out to wallgreens this morning to buy Tampons so I bought a BBT Thermometer. It was only 10$ I figured I would give it a try just to see what is happening. AF is awful and I have a migrane. I was so hopefull this morning

Jayne, you are older now, it changes the body composition, it might take another few months, and I also know (due to the PCOS I have and learning alot about weight and cycles etc) that I know it can affect your cycles (and I only know about your weight because of our weight loss thread we did together and that is the only reason I am bringing it up) So know that you will get pregnant, it will just take a little bit longer than it did when you were younger and probably thinner (I am presuming you were, only based on my own weight history :giggle: ) I think keeping that in mind might help, as I know my girlfriend who got pregnant first try 5 years ago, just tried to have another one and it took her 3 months and she was beside herself. After I experienced a year to get pregnant with my 1st I was able to help her see that point and it did calm her down, and in the end got pregnant in only 3 tries :aok:

Thanks all! I'm surprisingly not upset at all (other than feeling a bit cruddy from AF). I knew our timing wasn't very good. Last cycle was super long so I'm just glad to get a fresh start. I'm trying to take better care of my body - drinking more water, eating better, etc. - so that I'll optimize my chances. We're starting a bit earlier than is ideal because we figure it'll take a while. For me to even be Oing on my own and getting AF without taking provera is a HUGE step in the right direction. I'm just happy for little things!!! I actually bought some OPKs today while buying feminine supplies (see Jayne, great minds think alike!) so we'll see if it helps. Of course if Tom's in NY while I'm Oing, it doesn't really help. :lol:

Jayne, i hope you are ok. Just wanted to let you know that even having kids close together can be a totally different experience TTC. I have a friend who has a 19 month old girl now. With Kate, it took them 8 months to conceive. They started trying for number 2 thinking it would take another 8-9 months and got pg on the first cycle! Another good friend got pregnant with her son on the first try and have been trying for number 2 for a couple of months now...still trying.... so you see, even close together, experiences can be quite different. So don't be so upset that it didn't happen right away and just keep having fun tryin'!

Lena, you're right. :nod: We got pg with Alex with no problems (besides 2 m/c's). I was a little cocky with TTC this time around. :heee: We started when Alex was 18 months old and.....we're still in the game.

:lol: I was the opposite, it took me a year to get pregnant with Aiden with 2 rounds of clomid, so we started trying when he was 6 months old with clomid straight away just incase it took that long again and I got pregnant first try, then I got surprise pregnant with Jacob no drugs at all! :lol: It's funny how the body works!

Every child has been different for us, too! Nathaniel took over 2 years. We did clomid, injections wtih IUI, and finally IVF. We didn't wait as long with Jessica but I got pregnant on my 1st injection with IUI cycle.

Melissa, cramps don't mean anything-could be AF or could be pgcy! I had cramps when I got pg with N and three days later, AF wasn't there still.....and voila-BFP! So don't take that as a sign for anything yet... i hope your temp tomorrow will tell us more, but the fact that it's still stable, unlike any of your other charts I've seen....well, I think that's a good sign, but I don't want to get your hopes up..who knows...we just have to wait and see! (i know, easy for me to say...and you have NO idea how much I want you to get that darn BFP!)

Okay, FR measures 25ml, but the normal range of hcg on 14DPO is 19-117. You could EASILY have a healthy pregnancy brewing that is not yet detectably with a sensitive hpt. :crossfing :crossfing :crossfing

Forgot to add this message for Tabitha. The last time I read your post before going on holiday, was the first day you got your BFP. I was so excited for you - even told DH how good it made me feel to know that someone got the elusive BFP! It was such a bummer getting back to work and reading the bad news. :sad:

Just wanted to say that my sister in law also had an early miscarriage and someone told her that if there was any good to come of this terrible situasion, it is the knowledge that you now know you are able to conceive and fall pregnant. She said it really encouraged her and gave her new hope. Good luck!

But I did read an interesting story in a magazine the other day. The woman found out that she did not O and no meds could bring on O. And to make it even worse, her hubby had a zero sperm count. Doctors gave her a 0% chance to fall pregnant and they gave up all hope and procedures, and adopted. But after a couple of years she fell pregnant naturally. Her doc said her pregnancy was an official miracle. Seems like there's always hope. So I guess even if you want to give up, hope won't let you out of this vicious cycle!

Thanks I really appreciate the kind words. We have been trying for close to 3 years and I finally talked to my doctor about clomid and have been on it for 3 cycles. Just after getting kicked in the face enough times you learn to walk away and stop getting kicked. AF hasn't officially shown up yet...so I guess it ain't over til she does...but I just feel it's a matter of time. :sigh:

AF is being a PITA. I don't usually have this bad of cramps. I am temping but I haven't decided if I want to pay to join FF. I just don't have the extra right now coming off christmas. We will see.

Just curious - is a step up in the process an option for you? You know....IUI? IVF? Or is this one of those things where your doctor is astonished that you aren't pg yet because there's absolutely nothing wrong with either of you? You seem to be having regular cycles though....and you do have a child already. Man, this stuff sucks a$$.

IUI or IVF is not an option for us due to $$ reasons. My doctor said that if I didn't get pg this cycle dh has to get tested. He doesn't understand why I am not pg yet. Another doctor in the practice says I have "unexplained unfertilty". So when af shows I will call my dr for another rx of clomid and find out how to schedule an appointment for dh to get tested.

Oh Melissa! I'm sorry! :hug99: There is a girl on my molar board who got pregnant once, with the partial mole (diagnosed at 18 wekes I think). She's been trying for 3 years ever since and had 'unexplained infertility.' She moved to where TTown Anne lives and had a new dye test and lo and behold they are so blocked up nothing can happen. She had it done before but the dang doc never did anything about it! :mad: She had to have one tube removed and they told her she needs IVF because of the other tube. Is your remaining tube clear? Have they even checked for that?

PM Suzi, she's Queen of IVF, because I thought there was some fund to assist people who can't afford IVF.

Forgot to add this message for Tabitha. The last time I read your post before going on holiday, was the first day you got your BFP. I was so excited for you - even told DH how good it made me feel to know that someone got the elusive BFP! It was such a bummer getting back to work and reading the bad news. :sad:

Just wanted to say that my sister in law also had an early miscarriage and someone told her that if there was any good to come of this terrible situasion, it is the knowledge that you now know you are able to conceive and fall pregnant. She said it really encouraged her and gave her new hope. Good luck!

AF is being a PITA. I don't usually have this bad of cramps. I am temping but I haven't decided if I want to pay to join FF. I just don't have the extra right now coming off christmas. We will see.

Jayne, you don't have to pay to join FF you can do it for free like Amanda does :nod: the only thing you won't be able to see if like if you weant to view other charts and what not, but you only just need to temp and chart it and thats it. If you pay you have VIP memebership which means it tells you when you would be due and so on. Just set up a free account so you know where your temps are and go from there.

IUI or IVF is not an option for us due to $$ reasons. My doctor said that if I didn't get pg this cycle dh has to get tested. He doesn't understand why I am not pg yet. Another doctor in the practice says I have "unexplained unfertilty". So when af shows I will call my dr for another rx of clomid and find out how to schedule an appointment for dh to get tested.

Thanks I really appreciate the kind words. We have been trying for close to 3 years and I finally talked to my doctor about clomid and have been on it for 3 cycles. Just after getting kicked in the face enough times you learn to walk away and stop getting kicked. AF hasn't officially shown up yet...so I guess it ain't over til she does...but I just feel it's a matter of time. :sigh:

I can't even begin to imagine what 3 years of TTC must be like! My first cycle off the pill I had 19 DPO's of high temps and no AF, but all the HPT's came back BFN. Before going on the pill I was very regular, never skipped a period, never late, so I thought I was going crazy with AF being 5 days late but no BFP! Made an appointment for a blood test and sure as hell, five hours after I called AF pitched! This false alarm and the realisation that I may actually be pregnant, was just enough to trigger broodiness into over-drive and obsession into OBSESSION! :silly: So, 3 years are incomprehensible!!! But I totally admire your perserverance! Let's pray it finally pays off for you!!!:pray:

Thanx Bev! She's the most adorable child and I wouldn't have it any other way! We keep saying that we as her parents are the ones who are blessed by having her! She's starting to learn a better English vocab now (our home language is Afrikaans), and over Xmas she was singing a Xmas song she heard over the radio. "Stand up. Lord is coming to town!". So I asked her what it meant and she said that the whole world must stand up because Jesus is coming down to earth. When I told her that I remember the song going like this - "Santa Clause is coming to town", she replied: that's not what they sang on the radio!

:lol2: Sorry I am not laughing at you, just laughing at the comment because I used to say the same thing, then I got pregnant (3 times) and not only is the discomfort of pregnancy 10 times worse than AF, and not to mention those lovely "cramps" oops I mean contractions at the end to get the baby out, but when you have the baby you bleed anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks straight afterwards! What a rude shock that was for me! Sorry to break it to you, but AF is a walk in the park by comparison :giggle:oh and then there is the pregnancy hormones that make you cry watching a commercial on TV or completely lose the plot over your husband putting the milk on the wrong shelf in the fridge! :crazy:

Totally agree with you Deb! Only difference is, after 9 months of horrible symptoms you have something else other than blood popping out!!!!! And I so don't understand the concept of going through AF just for the sake of nature taking its course, without any compensation afterwards!!:lol:

I saw a training video for nurses on natural pregnancy the other day and I nearly freaked out! For a moment there I reconsidered the whole pregnancy thing, but clearly that moment passed, 'cause here I am!

Sorry I kept you guys waiting. I woke up this morning with a terrible migraine so I went back to sleep. AF showed up today so it's over. I will be calling my doctor to get my rx and schedule dh for his test. Not really in the mood to post so I probably won't be back on today. Not sure yet...Just so bummed!!! :mope:

Jayne you did it right with your chart.

I'm not sure if it will show when you BD or not but you can go into the sharing section down the left hand side in FF and it's in there somewhere as to show it but we still might be able to see it if you intend for us to see. Let me go look at some other charts of other people who aren't a paid member for FF.

Are those accurate? I don't normally see that much of a range in someone's charts. Are you testing at about the same time every day, before getting out of bed, and after having at least 4 consecutive hours of sleep? Your temp can be off if you were out of bed at 4 to check on the kids, or use the bathroom. Those temps might be exactly right for you, but I wanted to bring this up :)

Marcy, those are right for my temps. The only one that was a different time was today. It was done at 6am since I have a little one coming now at 6:30. I am going to start trying to do it at 6 every day from now on. I will set my alarm, temp and then go back to sleep on some days. Last night I was up a lot also. so I might not have had 4 full hours of sleep.

Even 3 full hours are good too.

I hope :crossfing that Murphy's law kicks in big time for you with the testing!!!! You know, you spend all the time and effort on the test (and don't forget the RRRR, oops that's South African, let me rephrase, and don't forget the $$$$$), just to find out that there's nothing wrong and you're pregnant this very cycle!!!!

I was saying to DH last night, how interesting it is to see the different medical attitudes in different countries. A family member of mine lived in the Netherlands for a couple of years and had to come to SA once a year for all her medical check-ups. She said that you're only allowed to see a doc in the Netherlands if you're ready to draft your final will. You don't go to the gynae unless there's something wrong, so no check-ups. Here in SA it is common practice to see your gynae every 4-6 months. Even if you're just expecting that you might have a cold, you go to the doctor and they book you off from work!

I went to my gynae for a pre-TTC consultation and she told me to chart for 4 months and if I'm not pregnant by then I should make an appt to see her. She said she can see I'm very eager, so after 4 months she'll start testing (even though she did say that she considered 2 years TTC still normal). I don't think she'll interfere with meds or procedures before 12 months, unless the tests show problems. But she is willing to look for problems early on if I'm keen. She also told me not to take HPT's but if I think I'm pregnant, to come for a blood test straight away as it is more accurate! I've read on several forums that some ob/gyns won't do a blood test unless you have a positive HPT!

Surely glad we have a different approach!

I am finally on my last day of AF. It is almost non existant..which is nice..of course I have a major headache..I hate that. I get them every time but wow..this one is trying really hard to knock me out.

How do you get Naproxen! This time was simply awful with the old Bat. I just hate when that time rolls around. The headaches are worse then anything else. I have got to get them under control. Today's migrain was not fun. I ended up making the room as dark as I could, covering with a huge amount of blankets and putting ice on my head. It was so hard. Thank goodness for nap time!

Jayne, have you ever tried Liquid Advil? That stuff works like a charm for me and I always use it for any kind of headache.

I am way past advil. I used to be able to use Aleve for it but I got to used to it. I had a perscription but it can get addictive so I stopped using it. I see my Gyno next week and I am going to say something to him about them. I had a lot of trouble when I was pg with Alyssa and the headaches so we wills ee.

I'm glad Aleve worked for you at least a little of the time because it never worked for me. I prefer the Liquid over the regular Advil, the liquid is more powerful. I use to use the Naproxin for backache but they pulled me off of that, my insurance wouldn't cover it anymore, I can't remember why so I resorted back to the Liquid Advil ever since. Hopefully they can put you on Naproxin and your headache's will go away :hug99:

Naproxen is just a prescription strength Advil or Aleve. My doctor gives it to me because of the cramps that I go through while I am not on BCP. They work wonders and I wouldn't make it through the month without it!!!

Well if thats all it is I wonder why they pulled me off of it?? I never knew it was like Advil or Aleve shows how much I pay attention to the paper work that comes with it :lol:

Naproxen is the generic name of the pain reliever in Aleve.

Ibuprofen is the generic name for the pain reliever in Advil.

Acetomenifen is the generic name for tylenol.

You're right girl, those temps are hectic! Headaches shouldn't interfere with your temps that much, unless you have a migraine with fever. Maybe if your temp still shows a major jump (up or down) tomorrow, you should consider a new thermometer? I had a problem with my first thermometer, showing very flat temps. Bought another brand and temps fluctuated normally then. Luckily these early temps should not interfere with the interpretation of you chart, since the AF temps don't matter, only the 6? temps before O and the temps after O.

Otherwise you may just be one hectic chic!:confused:

Had our first staff meeting for the year today with the announcement that two of my colleagues are pregnant! Boy, is this gonna be a tough run - working with 2 preggies everyday! Can feel the resentment building already.

Yeah, migrains with fever could probably do that to you, especially if the migraine is not completely gone... I'm sure you know the "hovering migraine" feeling. By the way I get them too. Usually when I get a fever and start puking, I have to go for a shot, otherwise it doesn't go away.

Or maybe you could have some illness underway?

I also take Singulair every night before bed. I wonder if it could play with my temps. I know it is safe for Pg because I asked my Doctor but I don't know how it effects my temps.

Don't know what that meds is??? But keep temping your cycle and if temps remain eratic, then you can check with your doc if the meds influence your temps.

Okay, before I leave for the day to fetch DD from school, let me entertain you on one of her many moments! She received a Barbie bra and panty set from one of her cousins for Christmas. Which of course means she has to wear it everyday. So we went to the supermarket and she was mumbling and complaining. DH asked her what was wrong and she said nothing. Then five minutes later it's mumbling and moaning again and DH said to her: you either tell me what's bothering you or you keep quiet. She stopped right in her steps, planted her arms on her hips, stamped with her one foot on the ground and shouted at the top of her voice: MY BRA IS HURTING ME OKAY!!

Needless to say the whole shop was overcome with laughter and I nearly wanted to die. People probably thought this poor child (she looks like she's 5 not 8 - very small and petite) whose parents force her to wear a bra and there is absolutely no need for a bra there, definitely not for a couple of years to come!

Haydee that is just who I am. I believe that God has a plan for me and I have faith that He will lead me to where I need to be.

Jayne, do you take your temp BEFORE getting out of bed or making any big movements? Also, make sure no getting up shortly before temping, if you can help it. That may be what's affecting it?

I am taking my temp right after I shut my alarm off. I don't get out of bed. I just reach over my head. Usually just hit snooze and grab my thermometer :dunno:

I agree with Melissa, it looks like you o'd on CD12.

FF indicated today that I probably o'd on CD14, but I'm not entirely convinced of that. Think it's still coming, probably CD20. It's so difficult when you're just beginning to track your cycles to establish a pattern. First cycle off the pill I O'd on CD20 and then on CD18. This is #3 and I think O is still to come, just because I had other O symptoms the previous cycles that I did not have this time around CD14. But the temps for the next two days will reveal all. Either way, I'm covered for O on CD14 or CD20. However, it will really be nice to have a shorter cycle!

OK..so what does the empty circle mean on the chart..just that the direction changed???

Jayne, I couldn't remember exactly so I went to "Chart Key" - a button to the bottom right of your chart. It says:

Open Circles and Dots:
If something in the data indicates that the temperature may be slightly inaccurate (either by events selected in the Special data area or by a time difference larger than normal), the temperature is plotted using a circle instead of a dot. Please note that these points do not need to be discarded. The circle will just indicate to the reader areas on the chart where the data may be less accurate.

Well I guess it must be the time thing. I took it at 7am today instead of 6. I forgot to set my alarm early since I didn't have to get up as early. How do you all do it. I just don't get up at the same time every single day. I wish I did but it isn't in the cards for me. I have kids at different times and different things each day:dunno:

I just set my alarm for 5am because that is the normal time I temp. On the mornings where I don't have to get up I just take my temp and go back to sleep.

That's what I did also. (well, not 5 AM). That way you're temping at the same time, week day or week end. I would temp, read the temperature, and either write it down on a small piece of paper or try to remember it and check the memory readout later. Then back to sleep.

I tend to hit snooze a lot. I guess I will just have to give it a try and get used to it. Bad thing is I will also then have to set my alarm again so I hope not to wake up :lol:

Jayne: I think if you are finding it hard, if I was you (considering you have never had problems getting pregnant in the past) to just give it a few months, normal healthy woman can take 6 months to get pregnant, you have been very lucky in the past but it is not the rule of thumb for everytime. If you still aren't pregnant in that few months then start trying the temp thing :dunno: I only say that as it can tend to make things more complicated and trivial, not to mention cause you to stress about when/if/why/how and so on. I am a charting queen and am a strong believer in it so I am not saying it isn't worth it, I obviously did it religiously for 12 months trying to have Aiden and also did what the others did with the alarm and so on, but I also had the drive of infertility charging me along :lol: I bet you will be pregnant in the next month or two and it will all be sweet :heee: :aok:

Melissa: Tony had to do that when he tested, we were told it had to arrive in the lab no later than 45 minutes, so we were racing across town to get to the lab and got stuck in traffic, we were freaking out over the sperm dying :giggle: He ended up being so embarrassed he couldn't take it in himself I had to drop it off.

Kara no, I didn't monitor at all.. I wasn't even temping or anything!!

Thanks so much to everyone:) We are beyond happy!!! I have just not felt 100% the past few weeks and didn't think much of it, with being so busy from the holidays and all. Last night before bed I was telling DH how bad my boobs hurt and then washing my face I realized all of these curly baby hairs around my hairline.. and I'm like, wait I don't have those usually!!... I told him, I must be pregnant, because I only had those hairs before when I was pg with Brookelyn. So this afternoon I decided to take a test and sure enough:) Thanks again to everyone!!:)

With Brookelyn I was sooo sick before I even knew I was pregnant!..and I haven't felt great, a little nausea the past few weeks. Although, I will say, that I noticed it alot more today...probably since I know that I'm pregnant. I'm speaking to myself that I won't get sick though.. so hopefully it'll work!! I really want to take my other test, just to have another one, but something inside of me is so terified that I won't get another positive, which I know is silly right?.. I mean, if I got one positive I'm pregnant! lol ..plus my boobs are killing me:) lol Anyways.. thanks again to everyone for all of the kind words:) We really appreciate it!!

Yes, I bought the book at a local Christian book store here. But I'm sure you can order it on-line, the author is American - Jerry Bridges. If you can find it, it's definitely worth reading!!

So my chart is starting to do normal things finally!!

Well he did do just fine. Now he is joking about how I am jealous. :lol: Gotta love his sense of humor about the whole thing. He is worried that if it comes back that it's him that is the reason that we aren't getting pregnant that I will be mad at him. How do I explain that it will make me mad but not to the point that it will ruin us?? I just told him that I would be disappointed but not mad at him. That we will be just fine. I don't believe that it's him anyway. I believe that it's just that I have one tube and it's harder for me to get pregnant. Not to mention that maybe just maybe it's not in God's plan for me to be pg right now. I have to have faith that it will all come together when and if the time is right!!

We will get the results back in about 2 days!!1

Jayne: Your chart is definatlay looking more normal. I personally would take away the temps for the first few days that were so all over the place, it doesn't really matter to have temps during AF and it might mess up the calculations for O day :dunno: just a suggestion.

Keeping all my fingers crossed Melissa! What result do you want? The reason I'm asking is because it's kinda like a catch 24 for you I think. If the results show that there is some problems with DH, then you know what the problem is and you can take the next step with assissted treatments and procedures. If everything is fine, it's great news 'cause you know there isn't a problem, but that in itself could be a problem - not knowing if there is a problem and what it could be?? Or am I getting too philosophical now???

I'm entering the danger zone now - 10DPO's tomorrow. Playing with the idea to POAS tomorrow. Had a dip on 7DPO's (but had that the previous cycle as well without + results), had a little bit of spotting yesterday and bouts of (not too serious) nausea coming and going (though I do have a stumach ulcer that occassionally contributes stacks of nausea to my daily routine). So it could be nothing. Will see whether my heart or my mind win the battle whether or not to POAS!

I want there to be nothing wrong with him. We can't afford anything unless it's just a low sperm count...that can be easily resolved or so the doctor says. :dunno: I have faith that everything will come out ok. No pun intended. :giggle:

Haydee I wouldn't POAS just yet. Why cause unneeded stress??? Just wait it out and see how things go. Just my 2cents..which may not be worth much. ;)

Ok so I really need some help here!!! I just found out that a good friend that I work with is pregnant. I am really happy for her but my heart aches and I feel like I am going to throw up. What really sucks is she doesn't want to be pg right now and they weren't even trying. PLEASE HELP me get through this. It just hurts soooo much!!!! :bawl:

Mama - nice pun! *giggles* I'm SO taking that in the worst way possible! (need something to brighten my day today :() I know how badly your heart aches - and you want to be happy but it's just so darned hard! Hug yourself and just put one foot in front of the other, cry, beat up your pillow, scream, whatever it takes! (Me personally I end up hiding in Dh's armpit and sobbing - gross right? Well for some reason he doesn't stink - thankfully!) The little green monster has attacked me 12 times since we started trying again - but I'm hopeful with todays temps that they stay up! Smile, and know that we all love ya and would give ya hugs if we could!

Oh Melissa. :hug99: I have a similar situation. A co-worker in my branch (and there's only about 10 of us in my small branch) is pg. And not just newly pg....she's due about 3 weeks after I was. :( I lost my baby....and hers is perfect. :( So....I get to watch her whine and complain about how sick she feels and how big she's getting and what cravings she's having. Yay. The kicker is that she didn't want to be pg either. Her DH begged her to have another baby (their oldest is a few weeks younger than Alex) and she finally relented. They had unprotected sex ONCE and now she's pg.

How I'm coping is that I'm really drawing on my faith right now. :) I know it's her time and not mine. She's also younger than I am, which helps her and not me. I'll have my turn when my baby is ready to join our family. In the meantime, she's having a new baby and that's always a joy and a cause to celebrate. It's not going to help my emotional development to be jealous (this is a hard one for me) or resentful of her just because her baby lived. She deserves to have joy surrounding her right now and the only person I'd be hurting by not exuding joy is myself. :)
It's hard to listen to her whine all day, :rolleyes: but I just try to ignore her and focus on something else (anything!).

Hang in there, Melissa. :hug99: You WILL have your day in the sun and you will be worthy and deserving of all the joy and love that will be showered upon you here and IRL when that day comes. :hug99: One day at a time.....

Hey Melissa!

Followed your advice and resisted the temptation to test, especially after I saw my temp this morning. It's been the same for 3 days now, so I knew ff got my o date wrong. And I said on Friday that I'm not convinced I o'd on CD14. I get sore boobs around O and only with O, not even when af is coming. At this stage I think my boobs are more trustworthy than my CM! I knew it was too good to be true, to jump from O on CD19 to Cd14! Would LOVE to have shorter cycles, but hey, I'm o'ing and I'm o'ing regularly and that's better than a lot of other womens' cycles TTC! And when I punched my temp in this morning, ff changed my O date to CD21. Doesn't matter which day O'd, I'm covered from 13 to 22! DH didn't know what hit him! So, Melissa, could you backtrack me to 3DPO's please?

Okay, Melis, here's my 2cents worth as a newbie in the TTC game. I heard last week that 2 of my co-workers are pregnant. The resentment kicked in big time - and I haven't even been trying as long as you! But I think for anyone TTC, no matter how long you've been trying, if you want that baby, you want it now! So for me it feels like I've been trying for at least 9 months and I'm sure you feel like it's been a decade for you! Funny for me though, is that I'm really happy when someone on OUAL gets the BFP - feels like you're sharing a journey and gives you hope that it is possible to conceive - but when it's anyone else, it's not such a happy occassion.


I think God understands a bit of jealousy and resentment and questioning, but the most important thing is to keep your mind and thoughts right and not to ponder over the negative feelings. Just remember that God is ultimately in control and nothing, not even if you have "infertility" (hate that label!!!) problems could frustrate or intervere with His will. The book I mentioned to you before (Trusting God even when life hurts - Jerry Bridges) is excellent. He said that often we find it easier to obey God than to trust God. Because trusting God means that you believe He is good, He loves you and He is control even though you don't understand the WHY. He also uses scripture to back-up the claim that not even one single word from your mouth, goes out without God willing it. So good or bad things (we may think it's bad, but God will use all things for our good and for His glory) are TOTALLY in His control. How reassuring is that!

Deb, Amanda, Lena and Haydee thank you so much. You will never know how much it means to me knowing you guys are there! I just feel awful for feeling this way. It's not her fault and it certainly isn't mine. I do feel better about it today. I found out that she does want the baby but the timing is just way off. So that makes it easier to swallow. She had her appt yesterday and her due date is 9/18/07. She is really nervous. She was pg about 10 years ago and two weeks before the due date she lost her baby. The umbilical cord got tied around the baby's neck. I pray that she has a happy healthy pregnancy and baby!!!

My daughter's teacher told me a great story yesterday. She said she had a boy in her grade 1 class a couple of years ago. (That's our first year of school in SA - don't know if it's the same anywhere else). Now another characteristic of SA schools is that the schools usually do not have an intercom system in each class, but loudspeakers situated outside the classrooms around the building. So this little boy lost his shoes on the first day of school (by the way, our schools have uniforms and special school shoes). Was very upset about loosing his school shoes and his teacher went around and told the other teachers to look out for his shoes.

Then later that day, they made an announcement over the speakers:"Steven, your shoes are at the office, please collect your shoes at the office". When his mom came to fetch him, he told her that he needn't worry about loosing his shoes again, because today Jesus spoke to him from heaven and told him exactly where to find his shoes!:lol2:

How cute is that!!! BTW: How does one loose their shoes at school?? :lol:

We've all experienced the same kind of situation and know how you feel! Don't be too hard on yourself. (Before getting married, I used to feel the same about couples who got engaged! Now I've just moved on to couples who are pregnant!).

Want to share something very personal with you Melissa. Last week DH and I had a fight. I told him that according to ff, I already O'd but that I'm not convinced as my other body symptoms are telling me something different. So I told him that we have to keep up the :sex: until I'm sure of O. He told me that he was too tired that night. So I nearly flipped! And because I was upset I wrote off the cycle and the BD and decided to go with ff interpretation of my O day cause it suited me. But on Sunday morning when I took my temp, something different happened than usual. Usually I wake up at 5:30 am over the weekends as well, take my temp (all in a state of complete sleepy bliss), write down the temp and go straight back to sleep. I don't even think or register mentally the temp that I wrote down. So this Sunday, I went straight back to sleep after taking temp and I started having a dream about my temp! (Weird I know). I dreamed that my temp had dropped and that God told me that He was showing me what's going on in my body - O dip - and now that I know it is THAT time, that I shouldn't mess it up. So I woke up, looked at the piece of paper and surely my temp had dropped! I woke DH with lots of kisses and got the desired result. When ff adjusted my O day this morning to CD21, that to me was just confirmation that God is in control, 'cause now the BD timing was perfect. And it wasn't my timing, it was God's. And even if this cycle does not result in a BFP, I just have this great assurance that God is in control.

How cute is that!!! BTW: How does one loose their shoes at school?? :lol:

The primary school kids in our area are allowed to go to school barefoot! And if they wear shoes in the morning, they're allowed to take it off during the day and put it in their bags. He probably took it off during break while playing outside on the soccerfield and forgot where he'd put it.

I do agree that even though I haven't gone through what some women here have gone through to get pregnant, it always stings a little when somebody gets pg IRL and here you are, trying...but with OUAL, it's so different! I'm rooting like crazy for Melissa-and the rest of you-and I would feel exactly the same way if we were TTC right now. No matter what happens in my life, I want the women here to get pg, and asap! I always feel so happy when it happens, especially when it's long-awaited.....

So Melissa, I guess to add to Haydee's post.....I hope it helps a little knowing you have a huge bunch of cheerleaders here... I canNOT wait for the day you get a BFP, I swear I'll be telling people IRL who don't even know who *I* am that my friend got pg :lol:!! Melissa, I am so sorry about things at work. It has to be hard when the one thing you want in the world more then ever is given to another. I used to have a wall hanging when I was little that my mother gave me and I try to remember it daily. It said "Be patient, God isn't finished with me yet" I try to think of it often because God isn't finished with any of us yet...We have to wait till we fall into his plan for us :hug99:

Well I should be Oing soon. Problem is Dan just seems out of it. not sure if it is work or what is going on. I try and talk with him every night and see what is going on but he is closed up. He gets so wishy washy when it comes to TTC. He wants another child. One day he is more then ready and then the next he say's he isn't sure if the "Timeing is right" I try to tell him that the Timeing is never perfect and if it is meant to be it will happen when it does and some day's he agree's and others..well who knows. I figure we are definately open to life but I am not holding my breath right now. I want him to be in this as much as I am. I will just continue to hope and pray that it is our time :dunno:

The oddest thing happened last night at David's t-ball practice. My pastor's daughter plays on the team and he brought her last night. He came up and introduced himself to me (I am the team parent) and spoke in the softest and kindest voice and appeared to look into my soul (at least that's how it felt. He wasn't just looking at me). He asked how I was doing to which I said "wonderful". He replied that is just great and just smiled at me all the while holding and patting my hand (we had shoke hands upon introduction). When I walked away I had a wonderful sense of peace just wash over me. It's weird I don't know how to explain it other than I feel very at peace with the world right now and all that has been going on. I say this is weird because he normally doesn't speak that way. He has a regular voice (I listen to the man just about every Sunday and he baptised me) but last night he was just so different. I almost wonder if it was God speaking through him to me?? Do you think it's possible???

That is so awesome! Of course it's possible! I think our pastor once said that God is the author of peace and the devil is the author of anxiety. God knew what you needed at that moment and He gave you peace. Just enjoy it and soak it up and don't let anything spoil the experience!

Jayne: It's always so hard to talk reason to a man when they are so caught up on "timing" I agree that the time is never 100% right and it was a topic that was constantly discussed with my husband before we started TTC#1, he thanked me later for pushing the issue :awink:

See Dan and I didn't have the chance to talk about it before Tylor and then we decided to try for Alyssa shortly after we got married because well..I think we wanted to see if we could :dunno: Now..because everyone says over and over "You have two perfect kids one of each sex..why now?" he gets a little well unsure. He always say's "well we could have a bigger house or more money" and I try and tell him that that is going to always be the issue forever and ever to come. Everyone needs more but we do very well with what we have so lets be thankful and rejoice in it and share it with another child. We will see.

Hi Ladies! I'm sorry I haven't been a part of the conversations this week, sad news, my great grandma passed away sunday night... she was 103!!! 103 years old, amazing hey! The funeral is tomorrow, so I might not be on, but I just wanted to let you all know I'm still here, and keeping spirits up! I got my memorial tattoo last night, and found this morning my temps shot up again! We are trying not to get excited, but it's pretty hard not too! I told dh though if I am pg and it's another girl I am NOT naming her Myrtle after my gimma - little old fashioned :)

Melissa - that is fantastic!! what is the next step? Did he up the clomid?

Next step is just continue how we are going. This is only my 4th cycle of clomid so even if he wanted to up the dosage I wouldn't allow it at this point. The test for dh was just to rule him out as a reason. We figured nothing was wrong with his guys..but just wanted to be sure. ;) I have faith that God has a beautiful little girl just waiting for me and when that time is right she will be with me.

Glad the test results were normal!!!

OK..so now Dan is really on the fense..and well we just talked last night..figuring it was day 14 and welll.....look at my chart..it say's we ovulated 3 days ago..wich we did BD. I don't want him upset either. I wonder if we didn't get pg last month because I am ovulating so early :dunno:

Interesting Jayne. Why can't men just make up their mind???? How on earth did they function before they got married. :silly:

I know how Dan functioned...HIS MOMMY...Which is always a fun topic between the two of us. He said if it happened he wouldn't be upset but he is not going to actively persue it. He said that the timming just might not be right...AHHH..MIGHT...of course I was upset..I tried to tell him that it is hard for me because we do what he wants..I don't factor into this..My wants..my needs. I shouldn't have gone that far into it but I was upset. he said they did. He doesn't understand though..this is an all or nothing kind of decision..so it is hard.

SO I was all down even though looking at my chart it say's I o'd on day 11..but then this morning..again..he changed his mind..I SWEAR...MEN

I get my ultrasound on Monday to find out what side I ovulated on this cycle. Not really sure what they are for. :dunno: I guess to be sure that I am ovulating? Any one know??? Any who..I go Monday at 3:30 and then it's back to :sex: on demand. I really don't care for it that way...but hey...what ya gonna do??

Oh well...gonna go back to my movies. Have a good night.

SO my temp keeps going up and up. They moved my O date till day 13 which we didn't BD that actual day but we did the next morning. How long do you O for..this is just dumb that I don't know that stuff.

Jayne:You only O on one day. Because you had an initial spike of temps on day 11, it predicted you may have O'd that day. But then you had a 2nd spike with "W" mucus on CD13 which is more typical of an O day. But it's still not convinced that is the day you O'd. See how it's a dotted line that means that it's not 100% sure.

Either way even if you O'd day11 or day 13 you have it covered, sperm can last up to 5 days so if you did it atleast 5 days before O then you are covered and the egg lasts 24 hours so if you did it the morning after you can still catch it.

Melissa: :rahrah: So glad that DH is fine, I am sure that was a load off his mind, I remembered my husband do the sigh of relief when he found out he was ok. (not that it helps us because then the finger is pointed our way) but it's still nice to know :nod:. I never had to do a u/s when I was on clomid, they just got me to go in on CD21 for a blood test to check my progesterone and that along with my charts determined if I O'd.

Well I guess in "most" cases you will find that many woman don't know alot about this stuff, especially if they had no problems in the past with getting pregnant. I have a girlfriend who has gotten pregnant 5 times with not a problem, she says she wants a baby, and next month there it is. She wouldn't have a clue about ovulation and all that other stuff, it's just info she didn't need. I only know the ins and out because I spent a year trying for it and had no choice! (I would rather be in the world of ignorance with it though :awink: )

Now isn't that exactly what TTC is about! You're always waiting.... and waiting... and waiting..... either waiting to o or waiting for af. :yawn: They shouldn't call it TTC but rather WTC - waiting to conceive! The "trying" part is usually the least bit of worry, it's the FOREVER WAITING that drives you nuts!

I agree with you Haydee. this waiting game really stinks. I am so exhausted and I really can't sleep. I hate waiting to know what is going on with my body. I do know though that this time around hasn't been so stressfull. I could be or I couldn't be but just being more open now instead of really focusing on it has helped. I really really wanted it last month and well..I still really want it but I am feeling more..if it happens it happens and if it doesn't...I can still try and hopefully not stress.

Not too personal at all! For my 1st two children we did fertility treatments. I didn't really have cycles at all. I wouldn't get AF unless I took medication. Now I seem to be having cycles. I can actually follow my CM (cervical mucus) and get a sense of when I'm going to O. So far I've been right every cycle! In terms of timing, it's not really an issue. My husband lives 200 miles away and we only see each other on the weekends. It means that our timing can't always be good but we do the best we can!

My first cycle off bcp I also stressed big time! I stressed about what if I'm not pregnant and there's problems, untill I convinced myself to think more positively. Then I started stressing about being pregnant! It's good if you don't stress too much and get to a point where you accept that you can only do so much! I think it is the fact that you are so totally out of control that kick starts the stress. I'm also a lot more chilled, and feel that as long as I keep track of my temps and symptoms and time bd correctly, I have done everything humanly possible and the rest is not up to me. But my stress usually kicks in around 10 DPO's.

Maybe, maybe not! :lol: Last cycle I O'ed on CD 50. Before that I was O'ing around day 19-25. Who knows this time?!?
