and I need some decorating/painting advice..
Dh is putting new hardwood floors in the bedroom next month and wants to paint before then so I need to make a decision soon..
Most of my bedding is beige(light) right now the walls are also beige :dead: sooooo bored with beige! :tearhair: I've been eyeing this bedding set for a while

I was hoping to buy it maybe after Christmas( boxing day?) so in the meantime I was wondering what colour I should paint..the wall colour in the above pic is what? greenish? I don't like it.. would a white be too cold? would it still go with my beige bedding?

Karri just re-did her bedroom in a blue/brown combo that's really pretty.

Cool Lisa! :aok: I really have to speak to the manager of mine to get him to clean it the hell up so I will go in there. They need to expand to a second floor like they did in Victoria. And learn to use soap and water on the floors and everything else.
VERY nice Karri! :)

I love blue and brown right now. Icy blue would look great. Also a "coffee with cream" color would look pretty if you wanted something really versatile. I just did my closet in turquoise and brown and that combo is pretty too but I doubt you would want turquoise bedroom walls.

There is a paint colour called Coffee with Cream. I think it's Benjamin More. Too beige with chocolate brown I think. My nephew is getting his room done in turquoise blue.

I was looking at a Pottery Barn catalog this morning and I saw a gorgeous deep turquoise blue on the walls of a bed with beige-y/paisley bedding. SO pretty! It was more blue than green. I tried to look online to show you a picture but they don't show the walls that color. :(

This is a picture of the bedding that I have, it is chocolate brown and lilac it is not quite as dark as the picture looks. The picture is not of my bedroom it is the one they use to show off the bedding. I like what they have done with the walls and I don't think it would be too hard to copy, it looks like 1/4 round moulding that was painted brown? Just another idea, instead of painting the room one solid colour.

Then paint them lilac. The photo Michal posted looks nice with the lilac. I htink the molding with the stripes looks a bit busy, but the lilac looks pretty.

I'm looking for ideas for a bedroom using brown and really would like to see the pictures in this thread but I'm not a paid member. Is there anyway to I can see these? Can they be emailed to me?

We have the blue (behrs Softest blue-its very soothing) beige and Chocolate brown combo in our bedroom as well, but it doesnt work so well when the other hates blue. Ours is quite similar to Karris' look except our curtains are chocolate as well. Some of the newer combos with chocolate brown are the light mossy greens, lilacs and pinks, lilac being this years it color. Yellow tends to look hideous with beige but OK with darker brown. I did see on HGTV the other day a deep cranberry red with beiges and just light hints of chocolate in the throw pillows and furniture. It was a really lux and sexy look vs. hotel sheek (kind of Alfred Sungs signature look). If your going for that set of bedding a soft beige would look good on the walls, just enough beige to not be stark white. I would head to the higher end department stores or boutique home stores and see the displays they have out for bedrooms, to see what combos you like. That bedding set type is really popular right now so those stores will have little mini bedrooms set up so you can get ideas of what you like about them that you can incorporate into you home decor. I'll take a look in my house and home mags I'm pretty sure they had some bedrooms recently that were in the same hotel sheek style.
Do you know what finish the floors will be yet? Ours are clear satin finish on white oak so they go with pretty much any color except yellow. When we get them refinished we are going closer to ebony, another hardwood color that goes well with any color. Good luck with finding a great color choice that DH agrees with, men can be so picky sometimes!
