New thread.
Do you/did you use cloth diapers?
Why (what reasons did you have) to start using it (environmentalist, cheaper than disposables, better for your baby etc)
What kind/brand did you use and loved/hated?
Where (site,eBay member, store) did you buy them?
Was it difficult to use them? Did you use any diaper rash cream? Did your child ever have any diaper rash? Did you use them during the winter season also? At night? For a walk? For how long would your child wear the same diaper?

Do you/did you use cloth diapers? YEP! I didn't for #1, but do for #2 still.
Why (what reasons did you have) to start using it (environmentalist, cheaper than disposables, better for your baby etc) Well, I didn't for #1 because I just wasn't aware of how cool and easy cloth diapers are these days. I did it for 3 reasons, to save money, to do what is better for my baby, and also it's better for the environment.
What kind/brand did you use and loved/hated? I did not like prefolds that you use with a cover. They were ok, but just did not hold as much as I liked. Kissaluvs are cute, but didn't hold much either. I just really didn't like having to put a cover over the diaper. It was just too much work and it was a pain. I LOVE Fuzzi Bunz. They are pocket diapers and they are great! I don't mind stuffing the diapers either. They hold great and are adjustable too. I have also tried Wonderoos, which are another type of pocket diaper and they don't work as well. Actually, the elastic in mine are wearing out. I just don't think they are nearly as good as the Fuzzi Bunz. I know a lot of people have said that they wished they didn't try out all the different kinds and just stuck with FBs. They are wonderful!
Where (site,eBay member, store) did you buy them? I got some of mine as a shower gift, some new from a store in my town (www.littleants.com), and some off of mothering.com.
Was it difficult to use them? Not difficult to use them. Although, DH had a bit of trouble at first. He really didn't want to do cloth, but he doesn't mind anymore. My biggest trouble was with washing them. You have to figure out what will work for you. I had a rough time with that, but now I have a system that works pretty well. PM if you are interested. You can get a lot of diaper help over at mothering.com forums.
Did you use any diaper rash cream? Did your child ever have any diaper rash? I found for my son, the best thing was Vaseline. None of the diaper rash creams that I tried worked for him. With my daughter I used Vaseline, but I also liked Burt's Bees. We don't use it often at all. It's only for when she gets a rash (from when I leave a diaper on too long). She almost NEVER has diaper rashes. Cloth is awesome!
Did you use them during the winter season also? At night? For a walk?We use them all the time except at night now. We did at night originally, but she always leaks. It's not so much that she pees too much, it's more that she is so skinny and the diaper just doesn't sit right on her when she is lying down. It gapes a bit at the leg even if I make it tighter. I think it's just how skinny she is though. We don't use them when we go out of town though. If it's just to the in-laws, then we do sometimes, but nowhere else. It's just too much of a pain to save all the dirty stinky ones for the trip home. YUCK!
For how long would your child wear the same diaper? Well, Let's see, I think Heather changed sizes around 5 months. She's now 25 months and still in size mediums. Granted, she is a skinny thing! So, most babies probably would not last that long in that size. It really depends on the diapers you buy. Fuzzi Bunz have 4 or 5 sizes I think. I know they have S, M, L, XL, and one other large one. But, some (like the Wonderoos) claim that they are one size fits all. The Wonderoos didn't work well for when she was really little. Then they worked ok after that. I don't think they would go all that big either, but who knows. Like I said, mine are losing their elasticity.

Do you/did you use cloth diapers? Yeppers. For about 2/3 of diaper time for both boys.
Why (what reasons did you have) to start using it (environmentalist, cheaper than disposables, better for your baby etc)
Environmental and we had a great local diaper service...then it ended up being better for #1's Yeast Infections...
What kind/brand did you use and loved/hated?
We started with prefolds and prowraps with snappi clips. Now we use Fuzzi Bunz exclusively!
Where (site,eBay member, store) did you buy them?
From Jennie at Real Diaper Store...
Was it difficult to use them?
Never had any issues. My mom CD'd me, so it wasn't that big a stretch for them or DH...
Did you use any diaper rash cream?
Used Desitin with the diaper service diapers. That's the only thing that would help protect him after the YI started. Now we don't usually use anything with the FB...less rash too!
Did your child ever have any diaper rash?
See above..
Did you use them during the winter season also?
Yes, why would that be a concern? Drying? Bulk? Enligthen the California girl!
At night?
Yep, both boys wear a triple stuffed Fuzzi Bunz at night. After Connor hit about 4, we started using disposables at night.....now we use FB...
For a walk?
If he's pooped already, we'll wear them hiking...
For how long would your child wear the same diaper?
Diaper changes tend to happen
Wake Up (7:30am)
9am...poop time
11:30
1:30...into double stuffed FB for nap
After nap
Into a triple stuffed for bedtime
or...he's been in large Fuzzi Bunz for a year now...

With my son I've used some Kushies (am I right with the name?) for a while. Tend to do the same with my daughter but not sure. Never heard about Fuzzy Buns name.

Do you/did you use cloth diapers?
For #1 - exclusively cloth till she was 8 months old. #2 - a mix of cloth and disposable for the first few months, then only disposable. #3 only disposable.
Why (what reasons did you have) to start using it (environmentalist, cheaper than disposables, better for your baby etc)
Cost.
What kind/brand did you use and loved/hated?
There weren't any fancy cloth nappies 7 years ago. We bought the square cloths at the shops, folded them and secured with pins or snappies.
Where (site,eBay member, store) did you buy them?
I don't think there were sites or ebay then either  They were shop bought.
Was it difficult to use them?
No. At the time, the hospital used cloth as well and they showed us how to fold them.
Did you use any diaper rash cream?
Only if she had a rash.
Did your child ever have any diaper rash?
Occasionally, but nothing different then my disposable nappied kids.
Did you use them during the winter season also?
Yes, why wouldn't you?
At night?
Yes.
For a walk?
Yes. She wore them everywhere, we never bought disposables.
For how long would your child wear the same diaper
:dunno:My memory isn't that good!

Do you/did you use cloth diapers?
We use them when we're at home - nights and weekends. DD uses disposables at daycare and when we're out of town.
Why (what reasons did you have) to start using it (environmentalist, cheaper than disposables, better for your baby etc)
Cost, and environment
What kind/brand did you use and loved/hated?
Used prefolds with covers, which is OK on small non-squirmy babies. But I wouldn't want to use now with a 9 mo. old.
Now we use pocket diapers - I now use all BumGenius which is a one-size pocket diaper. By adjusting snaps, you can change the rise to fit bigger babies.
Where (site,eBay member, store) did you buy them?
I get BumGenius from http://www.cottonbabies.com/

After washing, you stuff the pocket diapers. There is the time to wash them but as long as you have the time to go to the washer and run different cycles it's fine. Easy to put on, almost as easy as disposibles.
I try not to use diaper rash creme due to staining, but if I do I use a flushable diaper liner between baby and the diaper.
Is your winter concern due to hanging them outside to dry? I dry the inserts in the dryer, and hang the covers to dry in the basement.
She wears them at night (you can always double stuff if she is a heavy wetter), and pretty much anywhere as long as we'll be home relatively soon (ie for a run to the store, yes, but for a day long trip to a friend's, no)

Do you/did you use cloth diapers?
Yes. Both cloth and disposables depending on what is more convenient at the moment.
Why (what reasons did you have) to start using it (environmentalist, cheaper than disposables, better for your baby etc)
Environment and cost.
What kind/brand did you use and loved/hated?
My mom and I made some when I had Anna. They were fitted one size flannel and I used a cover with them.
With Jacob, I've been using fuzzi bunz with a hemp jamtots liner.
Where (site,eBay member, store) did you buy them?
www.jamtots.com (http://www.jamtots.com)
Was it difficult to use them?
Not at all. It's slightly more time consuming with the washing, but I don't find it to be a big deal.
Did you use any diaper rash cream?
I very rarely need to use cream. If he needs it, I just put him in a disposable until I don't need to use it anymore.
Did your child ever have any diaper rash?
Yes, but it happens in both cloth and disposable.
Did you use them during the winter season also?
Yes.
At night?
I put him in disposables at night only because I don't want to find the right combination of stuffing for overnight. It's really just me being lazy. I should try double stuffing and seeing what happens.
For a walk?
Absolutely. He wears them when we're out and about.
For how long would your child wear the same diaper?
Obviously, I change him as soon as he poops. If it's just wet, he's usually good for 3 hours.

Don't know the brand. I just ordered some Fuzzy Bunz to try, will see. Hopefully we will like it!
