MASS PANDEMONEUM
12 October, 2006

OUALville, all night long. There was mass pandemoneum both in the streets and in all the town establishments last night. During the most poorly attended town meeting in the history of OUALville, Kelly was being put up for trial when one resident noticed AmyP shrieking as she ran through the street, being chased by a very pale looking Darcy.

As the town gathered to see what the ruckus was about, they began to notice more about the beloved Day Care Provider whom all had thought of as kind hearted, caring, dedicated and honest. Indeed, Darcy looked pale, and her teeth looked a little long, too. And her demeanor as she chased Amy could only be described as "out for blood."

It was then that the town realized that Kelly was not a vampire at all, and that Darcy, the one no one had suspected, was the person (and I use that term loosely) they needed to be after.

An extended race through the town commenced. After a while, Amy was able to collapse on the side without harm, as Darcy could not stop to feed with the angry mob behind her. When she was at last caught, the village gave her a moment to offer some last words.

Darcy quoted from author, Anne Rice, and told the town that the signs had been obvious. The quote she shared with the town as the sun began to rise was posted near the entrance of her day care center, with only two minor changes:

“And I knew my vision of the garden of savage beauty had been a true vision. There was meaning in the world, yes, and laws, and inevitability, but they had only to do with the aesthetic and in this Savage Garden, these innocent ones belonged in the vampire's arms. A thousand other things can be said about the world, but only aesthetic principles can be verified, and these things alone remain the same.”

And in the Day Care, the plaque which had given so many parents comfort as they dropped off their children:

“And I knew my vision of the garden of savage beauty had been a true vision. There was meaning in the world, yes, and laws, and inevitability, but they had only to do with the aesthetic and in this Garden, these innocent ones belonged in the my arms. A thousand other things can be said about the world, but only aesthetic principles can be verified, and these things alone remain the same.”

Darcy the vampire is no more, as she burst into flames as her last words passed through her lips and the first rays of the early dawn reached her.

OUALville is safe. But will it ever be as interesting?
