Hi! I don't know if it makes sense to post it here, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Our washing machine is only 2 years old, it's more on the basic side, but worked great until now. Now, on any cycle, it goes through the wash and the first rinse, and stops on the second rinse. there is a low-level humming noise coming from the machine.

Is there anything I can do? reset something somewhere? I really don't want to call somebody to look at it (unless i absolutely have to, I guess), because they will probably charge $100 just to look at it and then whatever to repair, and the machine new was $300 (got it at the outlet).....maybe there is some easy trick to this?

My little basic manual for home repairs says:
Washer fills but motor doesn't start:
Possible causes: If motor hums; jammed drain pump or defect motor. Remedy: Unjam pump; replace motor if defective.

Sorry I can't be of more assistance. Have you tried googling for information?

No, Bev, I haven't... but thanks for the idea, I will!

the thing is, it goes through 2/3 of a cycle, on every type of a wash...and stops before the last rinse. So i have NO clue what it could be......
