View Full Version : The OUALville Inn: Put your feet up and stay awhile
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 12:15 PM
Howdy, OUALville! :hithere
Looks like we need some beds in this town. :) Somewhere to sleep off the booze that flows so freely around here. Perhaps a place to snooze while waiting for a spell or curse to wear off? Come on in, put your feet up, and stay awhile!
We have 13 rooms in this cozy inn. Rates are negotiable, and charged by the week, night, or by the hour, for some of the "working women" around these here parts...

Oh good, I'll have a place to stay while I'm visiting! Thanks, Stef.
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 01:04 PM
Did I mention we're located right next to the bar? So you can stumble on over and right into bed. :awink:
Our rates:
$666/week
$66.60 per night
$6.60 per hour!

I have a hot date saturday night! Can I book a room? I would love mirrors on the ceiling. Do you have a room like that? Hot tub would be nice too!
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 01:08 PM
Absolutely, Ana. That's our most popular room! :lol2: I've got you down for Saturday night. You can decide later how many hours you need it for- if the date's going well, you can just keep it the whole night. :awink:
p.s. all our beds come with satin sheets.

Do you have room darkening shades?

Absolutely, Sandy. Madam Gulp has spared no expense!

October 2nd, 2006, 01:10 PM
Why would you need those Sandy? Not an exhibitionist?
Sandy
October 2nd, 2006, 01:14 PM
Well, I may be, depending on how good of a time I have at the Bar and Grill! But once that buzz wears off, I can't sleep unless the room is dark!!!

Stef I have some distant relatives coming into next week from eastern Europe. Do you have a couple of rooms I can reserve? They really like their privacy.
Sandy
October 2nd, 2006, 02:19 PM
Do you offer room service? If so, what is on the menu?

Stef I have some distant relatives coming into next week from eastern Europe. Do you have a couple of rooms I can reserve? They really like their privacy.
We have two special rooms located in the basement that would probably serve their needs. The walls are made of cement, so they are sound-proof. Let me know if I should reserve them for you.
gulp!

Well, I'm short staffed right now (if we had a newspaper, I'd post a help wanted ad), so the cooking is done by me and thus the menu is a bit limited. I always have a tray of deviled eggs on hand, and an Inn wouldn't be an Inn without some devil's food cake, right?
Bridget

OH YES PERFECT! They'll be so happy. They will not require toiletries or extra bedding; they prefer to bring their own. Also, are dogs allowed?
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 02:35 PM
yes, dogs are welcome. However, we request that if owners leave their dogs at the Inn while they're out, that they be chained at all times.
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 02:37 PM
Here's a pic of my lovely little Inn.
http://www.innonmain.com/images/logo1.jpg
You see those top windows, though, in the attic? For the last few nights, there's been a draft upstairs, and I've found those windows wide open. I've asked the guests that occupy those rooms, but they just stare right through me, like they have no idea what I'm talking about. So strange...
Bridget
October 2nd, 2006, 02:37 PM
Great. I think these dogs will be chained at all times anyway, because they're special dogs or something. You'll know them when you see them. They have two and they're both very black with long shaggy fur.
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 02:39 PM
O.k. good. I'll go see if I need to replace the chains in the basement or not. Maybe I'll go pick up a couple of studded dog collars from Bats N Rats as a little "welcome to OUALville" gift for your relatives.
Where in Eastern Europe did you say they were from? What are they hoping to see while they're in town?
Brandi Jo
October 2nd, 2006, 02:40 PM
Those sound a bit like my hounds, Brydyt. Fierce beasts, but they serve their purpose well.
Brandi Jo
October 2nd, 2006, 02:43 PM
I've also heard around town that you know someone who offers child care services? Is this true?
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 02:49 PM
I just mentioned to Stacey over in her shop, that I did at one time have a babysitter, but I had to let her go b/c she started flaking on me and I think she was doing drugs. (I heard that really pale skin is a dead giveaway!)
If we ever get a local newspaper or a Craiglist, I'll place an ad for a replacement. As of right now, I'm having to send kids to the old lady in the woods with candy on her house, which stinks because I lose the revenue.
Brandi Jo
October 2nd, 2006, 02:52 PM
I've used her before, but my kids kept complaining that her house was almost as hot as an oven.
Sandy
October 2nd, 2006, 02:54 PM
Do you have a sign in book for guests? I am interested in whose those guests are that are staying in those top two rooms. I wouldn't mind talking to them to make sure they are aware of our vampire problem...
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 02:59 PM
You know, I looked at that, and they wrote down "Empress of Night" and "Emperor of the Ghastly", so either they are totally pulling my leg, or they are royalty and I'd be afraid of offending them by me asking their real names.
They paid in gold coins, so I can't check the name on their Mastercard.
Sandy
October 2nd, 2006, 03:04 PM
Do you know if they were friends of anyone in town?
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 03:05 PM
Not sure, Sandy. I think they've been meeting some friends over at the bar, but I generally don't see them b/c they like to sleep in late. :dunno:
Sandy
October 2nd, 2006, 03:07 PM
Well then! That provides me the perfect excuse to spend a little time at the bar!!!!
Stacey
October 2nd, 2006, 03:11 PM
Again, I'm sorry about the sitter situation.
Remember to tell your customers about the special for the scrap retreat you're hosting there. :) I'm so excited about it.
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 03:15 PM
Thanks for the reminder, Stacey!
Yes, folks, October is scrap retreat month! We're holding scrap retreat weekends at our Inn, where busy moms can come for 48 hours of kid-free craft time! Stacey over at Stacey's Scraps has kindly agreed to offer discounts to folks attending a retreat, so be sure to stock up at her store, and then head over here to scrap away! Red wine and stinky cheese will be served, compliments of the Inn. :)
For pricing, please contact me privately- we'll negotiate a deal based on the number of people in your party, as well as the hours you need me to keep a room open.

Those sound a bit like my hounds, Brydyt. Fierce beasts, but they serve their purpose well.
Really? Are you hounds old? It seems like my family has had these dogs forever. Do your dogs ever attack or are they trained well?
Brandi Jo
October 2nd, 2006, 03:23 PM
Oh yes, the hounds have been in my family's possession for years and years. They are very well trained and only will attack if someone disturbs them. They are very protective of their domain.
Bev
October 2nd, 2006, 03:35 PM
Do the dogs look like this? I know the trick to calm them down, and I'm sure Sandy would be able to help out too.

October 2nd, 2006, 04:14 PM
Hello there! I've been thinking of doing a little catering on the side and was wondering if you'd be interested in some of my pastries and baked goods for your inn? Do you do a full breakfast here, or just a light Continental style?
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 04:17 PM
absolutely, Nichole! I just asked Lena to take over coffee service since she's a few doors down and these guests like their java piping hot, but a morning delivery of pastries would be perfect. I'm tired of baking blood orange muffins. :awink:
Nichole
October 2nd, 2006, 04:20 PM
Ok, great! :aok: I'm actually hoping that Lena may be carrying some of my baked goods as well. :)
Ooh, blood orange muffins sounds to die for! :awink: You must share your recipe! I can sell them and credit you.

How about maid service?
gulp!
October 2nd, 2006, 04:25 PM
Yes, we offer maid service, though we are environmentally friendly and encourage our guests to reuse their towels more than just once.
We also offer turn down service in the evenings upon request.

I see you have rented out your basement rooms to Brydyt's friends. As for your other rooms, what type of beds do you have? Will you permit people to bring in their own if they have custom type of sleep accomodations made?
Also, what is your cleanliness track record? Anyone ever complain about finding dirt in your rooms?

October 2nd, 2006, 05:19 PM
Stef, I prepared some coffees for your guests for tomorrow am. I have Columbian, French Roast, Decaf, Hazelnut, and Regular Coffee. All kinds of creamers and whipped cream all ready to go. I would just need to know how much you need brewed, and what time you want it delivered. We are good to go.!

Well, I like to keep a tidy establishment, but occasionally I do find some dirt that gets tracked in. Guests aren't always the neatest people. :shuffle:

You're in the right town, chief. Strange things go on all over OUALville! Don't tell my guests (bad for business), but this place always has noises at odd hours and things that go bump in the night...

Stef is sleeping, I have left a message for her on her notice board. I am hoping she see's it before anything goes wrong.
I am going to need your services Stef. My husband is on nightshift all week. I am of course at the bar at all hours of the night, and I am hoping my kids can stay here while I am working. I would like the room that has the connecting door between the Inn and the bar so I can frequently check on them. I am heading over the Madam Brydgyts to get a potion to cast a spell on the room so that only those who are asked in can enter! Thanks for all your help Stef!
gulp!
October 3rd, 2006, 09:37 AM
Everything seems fine, here. The damn windows in the attic were open again, but the Inn was otherwise undisturbed. :dunno:
Deb- you mean this room, right? You and your husband are frequent visitors to this room. :brow:

Good Morning!!!
I am throwing a PAWS event at the park tomorrow, but in the event of incliment weather, I wanted to see about reserving a conference room as an alternative. What type of conference rooms do you have available? Specifically, do you have rooms with windows as well as without?
gulp!
October 3rd, 2006, 09:45 AM
Well, Sandy, there are no conference rooms inside the Inn, but we do have a building out back that would probably serve your needs. My late cousin Bruno built it for me just before he disappeared. So like that Bruno- he floats in and out of my life.

October 3rd, 2006, 09:54 AM
Well, that certainly is formidable looking. What is the square footage? Would you have any objections to animals being brought in?
Late Cousin Bruno - is he dead? Or undead? What do you mean he keeps floating in and out of your life? Plus, did he build that for you, or for himself? Why would he put his first name on it if it was for him???
gulp!
October 3rd, 2006, 10:12 AM
It's about 666 sq. ft., Sandy. I'm an animal lover, so I have no objections to you using it. Please make sure, however, that the dogs are curbed outside the building.
Bruno is a drifter, and he's very proud of his work. He puts his name on everything he builds. :)

gulp!
October 3rd, 2006, 10:19 AM
Sounds yummy, Nichole! That should be more than enough, and goes perfectly with Lena's coffee. I hope everything doesn't get cold, though- everyone is still sleeping. Except Ana, who must have left before I got up this morning. :dunno:

Let me know what you need for tomorrow!

Stef--I need to block out some rooms for the family of one of our patients. We had originally thought she came in with a vampire bite, but turned out to be a dog bite. From Wed-Sat, as we have her surgery scheduled Wednesday afternoon. Just need to find a doctor to perform it...

Wow, it's looking like we'll have a full house tomorrow through the weekend! I'm sure we can accommodate your patient's family, emzkee (what's your real name? I need it for the sign in paperwork.) But I should probably hang out the "No Vacancy" sign. Not much left but some space in the cryp-uh, I mean, Bruno's building out back!

Lena, that's fine, thanks. As I think I mentioned before, my guests tend to be late sleepers, so it's no problem. I just heard about poor Hilary! She was such a good cop, too. I need to go down to Jessica's place to get all the gossip.

Anne, thanks for taking care of things this morning. I've been so devestated by the loss of Nichole and Stacey, that I've been holed up in my room, unable to get out of bed. :( At least I know that you guys were having a ball up until the end!

Sorry to hear about the dead thing you've got going on, Stef. :awink: The nice thing is that you don't have to be afraid of anything anymore. Too much booze and eating is at the top of the list. :giggle:

Can't wait to eat and drink with abandon! Let's have a ghost party here at the Inn!
Now I need to get a costume going...

All ghostly parties are welcome at the Inn - the Blood Banquet Room is all set. Other than the memorial service, of course, the Inn will be closed for the remainder of the week in mourning for our late great owner.
