View Full Version : The All Seeing Eye: Magical Supplies for Everyman

Welcome to the OUALville Magic Shop, purveyor of all forms of magical supplies. We're a bit of a jumble, but whether it's a costume for your wee one or something of a more "particular" nature, I'm sure it's available in one of our basement rooms. Luckily our shop was built on top of an old brewery, so we've got lots of storage down there!. (Sorry basements are not open to the general public. Shop owners and employees only.)
In case you are new to OUALville, I Madam Brydyt am your purveyor and co-owner with my husband, Franko the Tanko. He and our children, Caleb and Ahna are always on hand to help you.
Please, don't feed the iguana. He bites.
Cash, credit (OUALville Visa preferred vendor) and barter.

Just walking home from a long shift at the bar, am hoping you have some ingredients for a spell I am working on to protect me whilst walking home.. I need some frogs legs, eye of rat and some sage?
I will offer you free drinks at the bar for life, in exchange for free items from your store! DEAL?
Bridget

Welcome back Deb! I hope your children like the garlic 'n peppermint sticks I sent your way yesterday. On the house of course.
I'll be happy to work a trade. You may have anything in my store, with the exception of some very special supplies I keep in vault 7. I doubt you'd ever have need of them. Things for the serious magician, you see.
I'll have Caleb run over your supplies by first thing in the morning. And remember these words:
You'll have the safety of the eye,
If you keep your garlic high and dry.
For you laymen, remember... don't get your garlic wet or it's protective powers are reduced.
Have a good one!

Okay that's a deal, and I will remember your words!
I will run back over to the bar to tell my staff you have access to all areas (except the special vip vip room, that you must earn :awink: ) Of course your husband applies to these rules too.

I need some more of that fabric of yours for a new invention.

Potion Master you've ordered so many things recently I can't remember exactly what you're looking for:
-the garlic impregnated cloth (available in cozy fleece or stain resistent tencel)
-lighter than air chain mail (bullet and sword resistant)
-dark of night black velvet (so dark, you can't even see yourself while wearing it!)
Let me know! Here to serve! Caleb will be happy to bring over anything you need.

Do you have Vampires for Dummies?
You know I just took a look and my last copy is missing! I can't believe someone from OUALville would steal but that seems to be the case.
Perhaps I need to check my security. I also better check the vaults to see if anything else is gone!

How awful that someone from our community would steal from you!
Would you be able to order me a copy? I need it ASAP. I know the vampires are out there but I don't know what to look for so I need all the help I can get!

Wow, wet garlic doesn't work as well as dry? Someone should come up with little garlic umbrellas in case it rains.

Can I come in for a private consultation? I have some issues I need assistance with!
Sandy
October 2nd, 2006, 02:14 PM
Hey Brydyt!!! Feel free to come by Bats n Rats anytime for supplies for your iguana. What is its name?
Do you have a problem with vermin at your shop? What type? I figured you did seeing as how you had to put down poison. What type of poison was it? Was it effective?
Bridget
October 2nd, 2006, 02:23 PM
Sheila, I find that a good rubber slicker does just as well for keeping garlic dry. Yes, once it's wet it sprouts and sprouts = less effective. Or so I've been told. I read that on the internet. Beverly had some slickers for sale over at the general store BTW.
Joan, PM me anytime for a private consultation. Always happy to help!
Sandy, remember to stay back from the iguana. He bites and can easily draw blood. His name is Transylvania. Tranny for short.
As for the poison, I'm not sure what kind it was. :dunno: A travelling salesman came through and offered me a great deal on some poison in exchange for some magical maps of the area (they show where magical herbs are located along with names of all the businesses and homes in the town).
I had heard some shuffling down in the cellars and thought we might have mice, so I figured it was better to be safe than sorry.

Would you be able to order me a copy? I need it ASAP. I know the vampires are out there but I don't know what to look for so I need all the help I can get!
Yes. There are two editions. One is Vampires for Dummy's (kind of like for schoolkids) and the other is Vampires for Dummy's 2. VD2 contains some special information on how to protect your home from vamps. Let me know and I'll get it ordered!
Sandy
October 2nd, 2006, 02:49 PM
Sorry to hear that about Tranny and his biting proclivity. Who has he bitten in the past? Has he always drawn blood?
Do you have any more of those maps left?
Have you found any dead mice that ate the poison? If you need me to get some mice off your hands, let me know.

First, I just came across this old photo of the shop (before we renovated it) and thought I'd hang it up for all to see:

Sandy, I'm down in the cellars checking for droppings (you made me wonder). Back up in a bit to answer your questions. Just ring the bell for service!

How about Anti-bat bite flashlights? Do you carry those? With so many parts of The Mansion old and deserted, there are certainly so many places to hide.. would want to protect myself as I'm making the rounds after The Home Spendings Store closes....

Hey Madam Brydg. I am just popping in to drop off a fresh keg of Miller light for your kegerator, don't forget to flush out your pipes before you install the new one. I just spoke to your assistant and she has given me the ingredients I needed for a protection spell on my kids hotel room while I am at work. Pop by the bar for a drink or two, would love to catch up and have a chat, it might get our minds off the strange happenings around town.

Morning! Any luck w/ getting me some of those maps? What about the mice issue? Still a problem?
Have you hired anyone to work in those vaults of yours?

Unfortunately I only sell the makings for the flashlights, not the flashlights themselves. I don't do so well with electronics. I always end up shining something in my eyes. Ouch! Silke knows how to make them though, I'd check with her.

Deb, I'll be round for a drink in a few. Just got done going through the rest of my stock and I'm parched! I've had a rush of business and we're running out of protective herbs and charms! And spellbooks! Can't keep those in stock.
Morning! Any luck w/ getting me some of those maps? What about the mice issue? Still a problem?

Sandy I've not been able to find any more maps! That travelling salesperson wiped me out. You know, now that I think about it, that salesperson had a really high pitched voice for a man. I'm wondering if it was a woman? Why would they bother to disguise themselves? With all the trouble in town it's making me regret my decision to part with those maps!
I haven't found anyone yet to help in the vaults, but now I'm reconsidering spending the money on more security (what with the theft and all).
I didn't find any rat or mouse droppings, but I can tell something was chewing on the wooden door into my locked vault. It MUST have been a rat. Scabbers you think? From what I hear that rat can't keep his nose clean.

Bridget, even though you are very suspicious of me, I still would like that copy of Vampire for Dummy's book (adult version). I'm going to grab a quick bite to eat at Pie in the Sky and then will be heading back to the funeral home.

Thank you. I was sieveing through my inventory last night, but I am not sure if I am not missing anything obvious. With my frequent trips to the forest it's hard to keep track of how much I have of everything. Really weird.

Yes, but dragons blood is very precious. I hope you are not shocked by the price.
Alas, phoenix are so rare that I'm not sure if I have one of those...

Aren't you afraid of going into the forest alone? I feel safer with a nice drawbridge or moat protecting me from the wilds.

Just to let you know, Brydgyt, I do have some items in my shop you may need for your potions. Eye of newt, for one. Just let me know if you have a need. Maybe we could set up a trade for some of your wares.

I do have a particular need for just a touch of eye of newt right now... I'll take a quarter cup. Just dropped off a map to you BTW. :)

Yes, I just brewed up (with a bit of assistance from Silke) a new Hemlock tinged Nyquil blend (HtN for short). It's not available over the counter "yet". Just a touch will keep him asleep just long enough for you to go to Cancun. You'll come back refreshed, he'll wake up (we think) and everyone will feel "all better" again.

Deb and I had a great time last night. Her VIP room is killer!
Brydgyt, I heard you have surveillance cameras all over town....
I may have one or two installed. For personal protection. Can't be too careful these days. Deb and I saw some interesting footage when she came over to check them out. A little VIP room tit for tat. ;)
ALSO I REGRET TO NOTE THAT THE SHOP WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL MID-DAY. Taking Caleb to the Pumpkiin Patch with the other little devils from his class.
Mama, sorry I'll get you that price upon my return. Not sure if we can do business or not...
Have a good one! Stay safe!

How was the pumpkin patch??
Some of the pumpkins came into the bar last night during the peppers concert and they were so rowdy, drank themselves silly. Then spent the rest of the night in the toilets

those pumpkins just can't handle there liquor

Dropping off your eye of newt this morning. Heading over to the free concert to see the dead. I mean....the Grateful Dead. I guess I need to clarify these days. Hope to see you there, Brydgyt. Or are you still recovering from the Peppers???
