Check out The Shire (www.bendshire.com/) in Bend, Oregon. It's an interesting concept, but expensive!
I wonder if they'll be putting in shops and stuff too, or if it's just housing.

That's a beautiful concept! Isn't that expensive for Oregon though? Not that I know anything about Oregon.

I admit it makes me giggle a bit to think of a real development based on LOTR but after seeing the pics :jawdrop: gorgeous!

Very cute! The prices aren't high compared to NY but they seem high for Oregon.

$674,730 for a town home! :faint: it looks so authentic until you get to the back of the house re: garage doors

They are cool but no way would I spend that money to live in a home that size. Around here that kind of money could go to buy a home more expensive that any home around here. And the size would blow you out of this world for that kind of money.

Those look very nice! What an interesting concept, but I wonder what the value will be 15-20 years from now.

Ummm...the prices are expensive for Oregon, but not for Bend, OR. :heee: Bend has become quite the place to live over the last 10-20 years! I wouldn't live there - too hot and dry. :dead: It's VERY close to a GREAT ski mountain though - Mt. Bachelor. :aok:

I think they look cool, but I don't know if I'd want to live in such a fabricated community...it seems like it would feel too fake or something. :dunno: Sad thing is, I didn't think the prices were too crazy - I'm jaded from the crazy prices here.
