If buying something off ebay, etc. How much would you / have you paid for something for nostalgia's sake?
I found a clock on there - a talking alarm clock - that my husband used to have as a kid. However it's $120 now with bidding going on. And, umm, that's just a bit too much for something for nostalgia's sake.
How about you? What have you bought for nostalgia? What would you buy if you found it, and how much would you pay for it?

Depends on what it is. If it was something I really, really loved way back when... yeah, I'd splurge. But if it was something I kind of remembered having, I wouldn't bother. I think it really depends on how much the item means.

He had this, and then one night left it in his mom's room, set to go off at like 2 AM (he didn't do that on purpose - he was about 6 years old). Well, the alarm and the talking went off at 2 AM, his mom had to stumble around the room to find it :) DH says "It never worked after that night"

It would really depend on the item and how much spare cash I had at the time!

Not much. I am really not nostalgic, nor am I a clutterbug or knick-knackky, so I can't see spending money on something like that (my husband calls me Steel Heart  )
The only thing I think I'd buy is a set of the original Fashion Plates for my girl, and for those, maybe $25?

There are certain things that I would buy for nostalgia's sake. I did once buy the WDW Magic Kingdom weeble wobbles set and it had all the parts except one. I paid around $35 for it on ebay. The way that I looked at it, my kids can play with it the way I used to and for a big set like that nowadays it would probably cost that much anyway.
I might also look for Dolly Pops for when Isabelle gets a little older, to play with. I used to love those!! But I wouldn't pay too much for them.

I don't think I'd pay that for that clock. If it was $25 maybe, but I think that's pricey for a memory. I might pay more for something with real sentimental value, but I can't think of anything right now.

I think if it had major sentimental value, and it was something you just knew would make him TRULY happy I would absolutely pay that money (of course that is saying I had it spare I wouldn't do it if we were low on cash)
