All new, no music!

Happy Monday, everyone. (groan)

What's new? What's going on this week? Something exciting, or nothing at all? ;)

What miscellaneous thing is floating around in your head at this moment?

My miscellany: Today looked to be the first day of school at a local high school (it's right across the street from the boys' day care) and I noticed far too many leggings/miniskirt outfits.

As for what's up this week... nothing exciting aside from the exterminator coming tomorrow. (have I mentioned that enough yet? )

Thank goodness. Now as long as the Shiny Happy part doesn't get me singing I will be ok

This week isn't much new. I have kids all week and soccer all week and our lawyer is hounding us because the papers he sent us to be signed haven't gotten back to him (not my fault mailed them Fedex on Thursday)

In my head...Oh..just that last night some china man (from Dan's chineese office) called to confirm Dan's arrival at the end of the month. Since we knew nothing about when he was going this came as a total shock. My 30th Birthday is the 4th and I really don't want my husband gone then but when can I do. Then we thought maybe he meant the end of September and that is no good as we are going to the Outter Banks at the end of the month  Either way I will be really upset and I will be out a DH for 2 weeks which while I know I can handle it, I don't know that we have ever (EVER) in 12 years been apart that long

Boy, you ARE excited about that exterminator, aren't you?

Our big excitement of the week was today, because Caroline had a playdate with one of her friends from school. The achingly adorable Spencer came over, they rode bikes, played in the pool and shared a snack. Now Caroline is down for a rare nap (since she was awake at 6:45am with excitement!) and I'm having lunch. We're also waiting to hear from the ILs who are meeting with the surgeon today to plan FIL's follow-up colon cancer surgery. :(

Randomness on my mind: argh, my contacts are uncomfortable already, and it's only 1pm. Ooooh, and the microwave just let me know my lunch was ready!

I saw Shiny Happy and my brain thought the REM song, Shiny Happy People Holding Hands......

Nichole
August 14th, 2006, 01:27 PM
You'd be excited about it too Anne, if you had ants crawling in your bed. (and I'm not kidding! :errr: :dead: )

I'm hungry for lunch already and it's only 10:30 here. [/whimper]

Hey now, Melissa! :nono: That's not my fault! I can't help it you people insist on making song titles where there are none.

Random on my mind......my son's 4th birthday is in 3 weeks and I haven't sent any invites yet. Haven't even settled on a date. Thank goodness for evite.com!

I would much rather be playing golf than working. *insert golf smilie here* (Bridget, help me out sister friend!)

TtownAnne
August 14th, 2006, 01:32 PM
Oh, absolutely. I just think it's funny to be so excited about something so hum-drum. Like "wooo, the plumber is coming today!" :heee:Ugh, I ate lunch and I'm not satisfied. Seems rather against the point to have Lean Cuisine for lunch with a cookie chaser, no?

Nichole
August 14th, 2006, 01:35 PM
Nah Anne, the LC just leaves you some leeway for the cookie. And now I want a cookie. :disbelief

Becky, I have you beat. Gavin's birthday is Wednesday and I haven't figured out what to get him or any party plans. :blush1: We're just going to my parents' to celebrate my mom's birthday too, so good thing he's young enough to not know the difference, eh? :shuffle:

New and exciting is that Ian starts his MDO program tomorrow and since Eliot still has one more week off until he starts school, tomorrow will be Eliot & Mommy day while Ian is in school  This afternoon I think I'll drag the kiddos to the pool, it's gonna be a high of 105 and the kiddos are going nuts in here

In my mind... I need to go get Ian to take his nap. Also, I was thinking that I was gonna be sad about both the boys starting school but even though I will be at work when Ian goes to his MDO program it will be nice b/c I will get a break from all the fighting/screaming/whinning episodes :ura1: I do love my children, really, they're just driving me batty today :tearhair:

:tongue2: ;)

Katie is officially potty trained!!!! She absolutely refuses a diaper now! :woo:

Its Monday and I stayed up way to late last night.... Katie had a nightmare (car blowing?). ugh..... but the good news is, I'm almost done with my jazz class!! :ura1: :ura1: :ura1: :ura1: :ura1: :ura1: I'll have two weeks off and then on to the next one!

You're not alone. I thought it too. "Shiny Happy People Posting..." (CORNY!)

Excitement for the week? I'm thinking about changing my hair color. To a strawberry blonde. :shuffle: Hey, someone has to look like Aaron. Might as well be me.

Hi all!

Sarah's teacher was over this morning. She has a hard time working with Sarah because she's so excited about her new walking skills that she won't sit and do anything the teacher wants. So usually she and I talk about the types of play I'm doing with Sarah, etc.

I'm looking into a mommy-and-me swim class for Sarah and me. There's the Y, but our closest one only has it on Fridays at 5:30, which isn't generally her best time. There's a local swim school for kids that costs more, but I may be inclined to go that route if the time is better. It's worth the extra money to me if I won't have a whiney, screaming toddler to deal with during lessons.

ETA: I got a hold of the other swim school and they have a lot of good times. I want to go that route, but my penny pinching DH may have other thoughts.

I just had the yummiest tiramisu. :lick:

TtownAnne
August 14th, 2006, 03:14 PM
Tiramisu? :pant: Man, that blows my cookies out of the water!

Nichole
August 14th, 2006, 03:21 PM
Yes, it does blow cookies. It was homemade and quite delicious. I'm trying hard not to be too 'neener neener' about it, I swear.

TtownAnne
August 14th, 2006, 03:27 PM
Go ahead and gloat - I certainly would! I'd sell a bodily organ for some good tiramisu.

Okay, help me think of something I can do with Caroline that won't involve going outside. We were up ridiculously early this morning and I am WIPED! So I'm trying to avoid bike riding and playing with her friends.

Unfortunately...I'm not even thinking Shiny Happy People...I'm thinking Shiny Happy Monsters  I got that song stuck in my head just last week!

This was on Sesame Street this morning....I have been singing it all day!

What's going on this week? Something exciting, or nothing at all? Scott is on vaca all week. We're not going anywhere, just day trips, but I am glad he isn't working. Right now he and Jackson are at the pool and Anna is sleeping so I have some peace and quiet...I think I may go take a LONG shower, since I can...

Bev

What's new? After the hack job hair cut last month I can finally do something with my hair. :)

What's going on this week? Something exciting, or nothing at all? ;) Something exciting! I will be making the big trip to the USA to the Detroit Zoo to meet Julie and Stacey (Stass) and possibly Sabrina, Karly and Audrey (if I can get a hold of her). I'm super excited about it! :)

What miscellaneous thing is floating around in your head at this moment? Oh. My. Gawd. I am so :badwords: exhausted from folding 4 loads of laundry (and putting them away!!) and listening to Mason say "For crying out loud" a bazillion times. I really, really need a nap. I bet if I fell asleep now, I could stay asleep until tomorrow morning.

Kara
August 14th, 2006, 03:56 PM
Beverly - LOVE Your hair!!! so cute!!!!

WTG KATIE!!!!

Jayne- I'm sorry..I hope the trip doesn't interfere with your other plans..>Crossing fingers for you!!!!

I am recovering from a long weekend..But my cousins 30th birthday was a surprise and a success!!! LOL! My mom just made me do an excercise DVD..LOL..Josh is getting a head cold or allergies so we gave him some Benadryl and he is taking a nap..:woa: ....MIL's birthday is tonight so that walking DVD will be useless as I have some chocolate cake. LOL.

Not a big week..I've got an order from GAP coming with school stuff...I'm having flamingos put in my cousins lawn for her birthday on Wed...Thurs we are going to carrabas for dinner..and out with another couple on Friday night LOL!

Unfortunately...I'm not even thinking Shiny Happy People...I'm thinking Shiny Happy Monsters  I got that song stuck in my head just last week!

That is what popped into my mind too.

I am starting some serious PTing with Emma today. Traded in the pullups for cloth training pants since to her pullups are just diapers. :( So far it is going OK...not great but not awful either.

Mmm...Tiramisu is one of my 2 favourite desserts. I have a great recipe for it but it is very time consuming so it only comes out maybe once twice a year. Good thing for restaurants.

Leggings! Ack! Sheild my eyes!!

I am taking the kids to a beach tomorrow. I am feeling brave. I think it will go ok, but who the hell knows. We're packing a picnic lunch and going for a few hours.

Cami
August 14th, 2006, 05:02 PM
Good luck Karri. That's one place I haven't ventured to alone w/ kids yet, although I think I could manage it next summer. Of course, people are wearing winter coats here because it's so freaking cold so it's not as if we'd be hopping to the beach anyway right now. :cold:

Man, I'm still singing "I Think I'll Go For a Walk Outside....." which I was singing this weekend and David said "where in the hell did you get that at?"

The office manager at work was out today, so I was doing my job and answering phones and talking to the walk in 80 year old people who are bored and their idea of entertainment is dropping by the church office. Fun fun fun.

Tonight is Riley's first ballet class. Is it sad that I'm more excited than she is???

Ok Anne...you are probably already doing said bike riding, but you could try to work this angle. Caroline can be the doctor and you be her patient in the hospital. You can lay down while she takes your vitals. Get out an old ACE bandage and have her wrap up your leg for the full effect.

It's just after 3pm here.....must....find.....chocolate! :bolt:

WINTER COATS?! Geez Cami - how fast does it get cold there?
We're just going to a park that has a small lake and a nice beach. I guess its small enough to be able to control your kids at. We'll see. My kids  sand, so I got that going for me, so long as I remember a bag of toys.

Anne - Becky's got a good idea :aok: Or what about 'Beauty Shop'? Will she let you read a book outside and she can just play in the yard? (am i lazy in that i do that often?)

AmyP
August 14th, 2006, 05:29 PM
Karri, that sounds like fun taking the kids to the beach. I've taken Sarah to our local beaches a couple times and it was fine. Of course that's one kid! The only problem I had was that I didn't put enough sunscreen on myself either time and got burned. I would suggest bringing some bug spray just in case. At one of our local beaches, the horseflies were terrible and biting us so much we left. The other beach was fine. :dunno:

AmyP
August 14th, 2006, 05:31 PM
Oh, and I have to add that DH and I were talking about the swimming lessons and he agreed with me that we should probably go with the more expensive ones since they're at better times for Sarah. The cheaper ones aren't worth it if they're at a time that Sarah's not usually at her best. Also, daytime swimming lessons would mean it's more likely that I'd meet other SAHMs since I don't know too many around here. :(

It's been like a two week cold spell! It shouldn't be like this...

I read while the kids play outside all the time. And I'm not lazy. :)

Oh, and Amy, that's awesome about the lessons. I hope it works out for both of you!!

Hush, Shel! :tmi: I sang that song all weekend, too. My kids looked at me like I had two heads.

Winter coats, Cami?! Wow! I'm ready for fall, but not quite ready for winter. :awink:

Good luck at the beach, Karri! :crossfing

Good ideas, Becky & Karri. I think if I had a girl, I'd be all about roping her into playing beauty shop. I used to make my little sisters do my hair all the time when we were kids. I loooooove having my hair brushed! [/scalp tingle]

Did someone mention chocolate?! :scan: :bolt: [/PMS craving x 10 billion]

Doh! What kind of a moron am I that I totally forgot about Beauty Shop?!?! But I ended up happening upon Karri's idea myself - we still had our pool filled up from her playdate this morning, and she wanted to dunk her feet in, so I said we were going to be wild and crazy and have backwards afternoon and she could get in the pool with her clothes on instead of her bathing suit (hello, didn't want to get up again to get it :secret: ). So she played in the pool for more than an hour while I read my book. :dude: Very relaxing. Now that it's after 5pm I'm going to crack open a cider and figure out what's for dinner. Thanks for the Beauty Shop reminder, though - that will definitely be our plan for tomorrow when it rains!

Mnnn....cider :lick: Enjoy.

Aidan likes playing beauty shop w/ me :heee: shhhh.... I should take photos some day  I only encourage him b/c I want Norah to learn.

I am packing up the kiddos in a bit and heading over to a friend's house who lives about a mile away. A few of us are husbandless tonight and are hanging out and tossing back a few in the backyard while the kids play. :aok: Chris is at some golf outing and social and dinner.

Cool about the swim lessons, Amy. Reminds me I gotta get on it and find out what is available for N&E. I want to sign them up this fall.

Ditto to Bev it is exciting about the Zoo with her Julie and perhaps others. (and a buttload of children)

I still have an earworm from when Bridget posted the OKGO treadmill video last week. But I love them now so :dude:

AmyP

Karri, our local Y has them. Is there a Y near you where you can look? We also have a small company that has a couple pools in the area and they specialize in swim lessons for children. Anything for kids under 3 or 4 (4 at the swim school, 3 at the Y) is a Mommy and Me class.

I think Sarah will do great because she LOVES the water. She splashes like crazy in the pool!

Funny that you post this, Stacey. My friend had these on tonight and I asked her what they were. I've seen her wear them the past few times I've seen her (w/ capris...they look fabulous :aok: ) and I must have them, as well. She says she loves them. I just cant decide if I need brown or pink.

Amy - yeah - we have several Ys, as well as a rec dept, and also some other fitness centers and private swim clubs. So I have to compare cost and time slots, because I need to be able to do it while Aidan is in school.

Anything exciting? Oh, I have a lunch date tomorrow: a job interview over lunch at Cheesecake Bistro or something. So wish me luck.

Main thing in my head? Will I get a chance at this job?

And since 80s fashion is brought up, even Ann Taylors got it: tunics and balloon skirt. :shuffle:

What's new? Nothing that I can think of :dunno: I'm childfree today :woo: Although I do have to look after my friend's annoying kid after school today so that's nothing to look forward to :dead:

What's going on this week? Something exciting, or nothing at all? Again, nothing. A boring week for a change!

What miscellaneous thing is floating around in your head at this moment? I need to finish putting away the grocery shopping, vacuum and do several loads of laundry before picking up the kids in 3 hours. It's cold and rainy today and all I actually want to do is curl up in bed and watch a movie. I feel a Love Actually craving coming on!

I'm also thinking about Harry's birthday party on Sep 1. Trying to figure out what games to play and I'm on a mission to find cheap pinata fillers.

I love those shoes too! I need to find me a pair. I really can't wait to start buying fall stuff. I am sick of capris and stuff, I want to wear jeans and boots.

Yuck, it is raining today and that effectively puts a damper on all I planned for today. Supposedly it is going to stop by noon, but we'll see.

Let's see....I have no idea what is new...other than Nikita refusing to nap now, and I'm dead tired by 9 pm LOL He's a total chatterbox now and wants to walk and stand (if he has to settle for smth less)..oy!

I have a ginormous amt of laundry to fold and now iron and clean up our bedroom. I think I'll tackle the laundry as my must for the day. I hope my child sleeps today!

Still SO sore from the Half on Sunday. Yesterday my legs had a heck of a time walking up or down the stairs hehee

Please be the guinea pig for us, Stacey. I'm sure it will be a tough job.

Michele, I'm feeling the same way! I'm ready for cooler weather and jeans and sweaters. I won't be wearing them for a couple more months, though. :( I go through this every year around this time.

Ballet was okay. She looked like a big clomping Clydesdale horse, bless her heart  I mean, I knew she wasn't entirely cooridinated, but seeing her with other girls just made me giggle. She had an absolute blast though, and was concentrating so hard, so it was money well spent. I stuck some pictures in my journal.

We went to the movies at the mall this morning, only to be met up by Caroline's friend who I was hoping to avoid. We've been on Sarah overdose lately and I need a break from her screechy bossy little voice! :errr:

So now we're hanging out for the afternoon, and I'm contemplating skipping lunch since I'm still stuffed with popcorn, or whether I should go ahead and eat something small so I don't pig out around 3pm or so.

Nikita will NOT sleep for nothing...maaaaan! He used to always take a nap about 1.5 hours after waking up in the morning, and taking naps every couple of hours when we are home. It's now been 4 hours since he woke up and no sign of going to sleep. He is tired alright, but starts crying as soon as I try to put him down, or put him in his crib... We need to cut some teeth SOON!

Kara kara kara *chanting for a BFP!!!*

Poor baby Graham! Or should I say poor mama? Sounds like he didn't even clue in he was sick, eh?

Ok, Nikita is OUT!!!!! YEAH! I thought maybe he was hungry because he kept rooting but he was probably just being fussy...he was eating cereal and was fussing, so i gave him a break and went to change out laundry loads, came back up, his head was leaning, he gave me once last half dazed look and was out...I'm ecstatic! I'm also using this as a celebratory excuse to eat an ice cream cup, some Cheetos, some Fritos and to have another cup of coffee! Yippee... and i have a headache..2/3 of the way done with laundry, so maybe I'll take a nap before heading out on biz appts with bambino once he wakes up.

Forgot to mention I was a total moron at the movies today. We got into the movie, got our snacks and went to find seats. Once Caroline picked out where she wanted to sit, I got her settled, sat down and turned around to put my drink in the drink holder......only to catch it on the edge, flip it over and spill it all over the floor. Luckily there were only a few people in there at the time to see me, but then when the rest of the people came in everyone went "ewwww, the floor is all sticky!" Uhm, yeah, that was me... :scan:

My child cut TWO teeth last night!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally!! He is 8 months and these are his first, and two at one time!! He has been SOOO fussy last two days, my poor little munchkin..he was just so tired but wouldn't settle down, and then, about 11 pm, I felt him gums, and sure enough, both teeth broke skin! This week we are continuing with swim lessons. I signed the boys up for family lessons so they would have class at the same time with the same instructor. Well, Kyle isn't having that as I can't go in the water with him and he :bawl: the entire time he was with the teacher..i had to hide around the corner. So I took him out of the class and will do the fun swim with him at the same time that Joshua is having his class. The instructor said that I can cruise by and see what they are doing and do the same with Kyle..

And again on taking Kyle out of classes...I had to withdraw him from preschool:disbelief:. The little guy refuses to get pt'd:tearhair: and they have a strict NO PULLUPS rule. The teacher said that if he gets trained through the fall that I can call to see if there is an opening though. Until then, I will take him to the parks and recreation preschool programs.

Ugh...I'm exhausted! DH woke me up last night because I was shaking in my sleep. I really don't know what on earth caused that, so then I was scared to go back to sleep. And I'm at work today so napping when Sarah does really isn't an option. Sigh.....

Amy, I would hope so,but he still doesn't want to nap. He is super tired and super cranky-as soon as I put him down in the crib (or just carry him around in my arms), the wailing starts with "mammaaa.......aaaaaaaaaaaa...maaaa.......mam.....aaaaaa" and doesn't stop until i pick him up. I gave him some Tylenol hoping it would knock him out, but he is still UP. I guess we'll be getting some teething tablets or baby orajel today.

Ugh, I just had to make a dentist appointment for Caroline for tomorrow - a few days ago she and her friend were playing in a blow-up bounce house and they cracked heads. Now one of her front teeth is loose (which I think she is a bit early for it happening naturally) and she says it hurts. So I'm afraid she broke/cracked something and it's going to put her off going to the dentist because they're going to tell us something horrible!

Lyoshka

Nikita is finally out..I'm sure Tylenol helped.. poor baby was so uncomfortable, he'd try falling asleep and just couldn't forever...I hope he gets a nice, long nap in. I think I'm going to try to lay down, too, while I can :)

Anne, I think I started losing teeth at around age 5, so it's possible. :dunno: I hope that's all it is.

Anne, my friend's son Andrew got his first tooth at 2.5 months and lost it at 4. If they get them early, they lose them early. I hope the dentist visit goes all right.

Lena, I hope you got some sleep.

The zoo was FUN!! Busy as heck but fun. We were there 4 hours and didn't see nearly all the exhibits. Of course it was also impossible to really carry on a conversation with anyone but I met Julie, Sabrina and Stacey (Stass). Niether Karly nor Trish would call in sick. Their loss!

August 16th, 2006, 08:39 PM
Glad the zoo was fun, Bev!!

Anne - is it a top or bottom tooth? They lose the bottom ones first, so if it's a bottom it could possibly be natural :dunno:

My car smells like puke. Samuel had a major chuck-up while I was driving yesterday :puke: I couldn't pullover anywhere until he was done  I cleaned it with Domestos disinfectant and sprayed with Febreeze but it still smells. Any ideas?

So with the Mary Jane Crocs you can't flip the strap forward (well it does move but doesn't look right) You can remove the strap though. My friend at work takes off all her straps. Clare, I've heard they generally lose teeth in the order they got them (which for Caroline would be a bottom tooth). Anyway, no, this is not a bottom tooth, it's her top left center tooth. What concerns me is her mention of pain - I don't remember it really hurting when my teeth got loose in preparation for falling out, kwim? :dunno: So I'm afraid she maybe broke/damaged something when she cracked heads with her friend. But we'll find out tomorrow!

We had soooo much fun roller skating! I love this place - Caroline says that will absolutely be the place for her birthday party. :heee:

For the puke smell, what about sprinkling the whole site with baking soda? That's supposed to draw the odor out of shoes, so I would think it would work with fabric too... :dunno:

Clare
August 16th, 2006, 09:58 PM

Clare, Baking soda worked for my car. We went to a wedding and we helped clean up. They put orange juice in my car and it spilled. We didn't find it until 2 days later when I went to go somewhere and in 90 degree heat it was awful. I cleaned it best I could and then poured a whole box of baking soda on it. I let it sit for a day and then got a carpet scrubber and scrubbed it out. It worked like a charm!

How's everybody's day going so far?

I have such a headache. Dan forgot to set the alarm last night so thankfully I woke at 10 till 9 in time to boot his but out the door for work. (I bet he is feeling fantastic today  ) I don't have any kids here but my own but Alyssa is running around in Tylor's winter boots with Dan's Soccer whistle and singing. I think my head may explode. Must get some energy to get the whistle away

We have soccer practice again tonight. I go to all of them and I really enjoy sitting outside in the night air. I feel trapped for some reason at home and I am not sure what is going on with me.

Oh..and I am freaking out. I got my accompaniment CD tot he song WHo am I by Casting Crowns. It has three voices on it (low, med, high) and a performace track with the background vocals. I don't know what to do. I don't know that I want to use the background vocals because people at church will wonder where the voices are coming from and I don't like the key. I might have to sing it for you Kara...I am going out of my mind.

Clare, when I left a bag of meat in my car by accident in the summer and it went off, my car REAKED of off meat, nothing helped but then I did the baking soda thing, and I also put a container of vinegar in the back with all the window open and it worked

Ok, can I vent here? I'm SO frustrated with BCBS right now. We are going to be getting an individual policy from them for myself and Nikita (D has coverage through his new work), and I'm trying to get all the questions answered before I sign up.

With the maternity option for next baby, they keep telling me that the birth is covered under me, but as soon as the baby is born, he/she incurs their own deductible, etc....but she can't answer me what exactly the baby would be billed for! She goes, "It's a grey area, we don't know what the baby would be charged for., and the billing can't answer that because there is no claim.." HELLLO!!!!!!!!!!! When there is a claim, it's too late! It's not a grey area..she can't tell me whether the pedi visits would be a $20 copay or a whopping $2500 bill which I have to pay because it's in the hospital! Well, I'd like to know before I get a huge bill in the mail.....geeez!!

TtownAnne

O. M. G. :woa: My BABY has two loose teeth! :disbelief We went to the dentist earlier, who checked out the one tooth and said it seemed okay, and then said "after all, the one right next to it is just as loose." He said that if the head-crash with Sarah did loosen the tooth, then it's not really a big deal because it will be pushed out anyway with no damage to the larger tooth, but if there really were damage, he said she would have complained of the pain right away, not three weeks later. Also the fact that there's no sign of darkening of the tooth or swelling of the gum so he doesn't think anything is actually cracked/broken. Caroline is absolutely over the moon at the idea of having wobbly teeth and is desperately impatient for them to fall out - she refuses to believe that it could take 4-6 months like the dentist said. So she could be losing her first teeth right around the time of her 5th birthday.

Lena - my insurance works like that too. :) While you're in labor (and the baby is still inside), any medical bills are yours. As soon as they're out, they have their own insurance....and so incur their own deductibles and bills. I would use the same guidelines that you have for Nikita for the other baby (as far as percentages, etc). :)

Plus, you can't register the new baby with the insurance before they're born, you have to wait until after. It seems a pretty standard thing that your doctor/hospital/etc. will just bill you until your insurance gets up to date with the baby's info (that you have to give them pretty soon after the birth). So, if you get a bill that's for the baby, don't pay it until you can verify that it's gone through the insurance first.

Does this all make sense?

stass
August 17th, 2006, 06:25 PM
Holy crap loose teeth!

Insurance sucks. So it's cheaper to get BCBS on your own not through your employer? I might want to check that out how do you do that?

About the mary jane crocs They are definitly not as comfy as the original. My legs are hurting a little from walking on them all over the zoo. They sure are cute though!

Lyoshka
August 17th, 2006, 07:03 PM
Just typed a huge post and Nikita goes BAM!, and it's gone (he is standing by the coffee table, chewing on whatever he can score from the coffee table).....

Shannon, it makes sense! I was just frustrated b/c the ins. company couldn't even answer a simple question like that....They did confirm that the baby would have their own ded. and out of pocket as soon as he/she is born, so I probably need to get a plan with lower ded and higher premium...need to crunch all the numbers.

Stacey, we used to have awesome coverage through Damon's old work-$87 for all three of us, everything covered. Now through his new work, he is covered for $80, but to add family is additional $532 (EEK!). I looked on BCBS site and you can compare plans there...the only trick is, you kind of have to know what you are looking for-a plan with copays and ded. counting only in major medical case, or no copays but office visits out of pocket until the ded. is met, etc etc.. I had an ins. agent help me with some of it-a guy in the same business as me who also does sell insurance. I also called BCBS a lot hehehhehe (if you are interested, I could see if Brian could come out and help you out....let me know)

Lyoshka
August 17th, 2006, 07:07 PM
And as far as cost, def. cheaper in our case.. with D's work we'd be paying $532 amonth, but not sure what the ded and out of pocket is.. Here, i'm considering a premium of $280 with either a $2500 ded (in case of hospitalization )and a $1000 out of pocket max, or same premium but a $500 ded (per person) and $3K out of pocket max... we are a healthy fam so a high ded doesn't bother me, except for having a baby....

She's going to annoy the crap out of you for the next 6 months, Anne  Emily is obsessed with loose teeth and asks every day if it's wobblier then the day before and if it's ready to fall out. It's such a relief when the darn thing does come out! The dentist told us that Harry had loose teeth last november but I haven't noticed them and we don't talk about it b/c I don't want to start it with him yet!

Holy busy day so far! I have a Lemon Zucchini cake in the oven; I vacuumed the bedrooms and hallway upstairs; I moved a ton of furniture around in Mason's and Graham's room in preparation for the big mattress to go in. Right now Graham naps on Mason's bed, which means poor Mason is banished from his own room!

Oh Kara, congratulations!!! :ura1: :woo: That is awesome news! :)

Bev, it sounds like you are being entirely too domestic and productive there. Knock it off, you're making the rest of us look bad.

It's so nice to feel human again today! I think I'd take a respiratory thing over stomach sickness any day. :dead:

:woo: Kara!! Congratulations!

So...today I am spending my day at the Wiggles concert with Jackson and 2 of his friends. I know he'll love it, but I'm not all that psyched at the moment. I'd rather go to the beach or something! I'm also not really looking forward to leaving my nursing baby for so long and having my boobs nearly explode!

It will be nice to only have one kid to look after though...

Hi all! I'm over here posting when I should be packing!!! Why on earth did I decide to leave for vacation on a Friday night when DH works all day and I'm solely responsible for packing????!!! I should really have my head examined.

:woo: Kara! My first BFP with Sarah was pretty faint, but it was obviously correct!

How does it feel, Trish?Eh, it's ok. Sadly, it kind of feels like I never left work, yet I find myself missing Owen :( Not that I don't miss Aden and Evan, but I know that they are happily playing w/their friends and I just want some more cuddle time with Owen :(
