Do you have a name picked for your next baby, if you're having one or thinking about having one?

My picks are:
Nolan Alexander
Graham Farrell

Vanessa??
Corinne??
Erica??

Neither of the boy names were on my list last time, we only had the one name, and for girls the first two were our finalists, but I'm still not sure which one I like better.

A girl will be Jocelyn Diana.

A boy will be Zachary Christian, unless I can get DH to change his mind.

For a boy I still like the name Christopher Philip, but the idea of kids' names all starting with the same letter bugs me.

For a girl, Jessica was our second choice last time, so maybe we'd use it again.

We plan on adopting in the future...but probably not a newborn, so we probably won't get the chance to actually name them ourselves. However...here are the names we want to use. They are all boy names, we can't agree on girls names no matter how hard we try.

River(s) Noah
Tristan James

Beverly, my father's name is Graeme. While it's a very common name over here (especially in his age group), it seems to be uncommon in the US. Is Canada more like Australia with regards to Graham/Graeme, or is it somewhat more unusual?

I don't have a previous one as yet, but I'm hoping my next one will be either Alanna Rose or Anthony James.

We have SO many ideas.....

*Jackson (our top boy's name)
*Raelynn (one of our top girl names)
*McKenna (our other top girl name)

It is neither common nor unusual if that makes sense. I think I only knew one when I was growing up, and of course there's Graham Nash (of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young fame). So it isn't so unusual as to raise eyebrows, but there won't be 6 of them in his class either. DH's cousin is Alana. I don't know her middle name. :)

I forgot I had Lindsay on my list last time too, but it wasn't a finalist.

Joel William
Jacob William

Lauren

Beverly ~ I think Graham is a great name! Like you said, it's neither unusual, nor too common. I also think it goes better with Mason's name.

A girl would definitely be Sara.
We'd have to go through the whole process to get another boy's name

Hannah Elizabeth for a girl and Elijah Garwin for a boy.

My current children's names are:

Emma Elizabeth
Traver Jacob Marshall - 2 middle names, but we're calling him Jacob

Names we (I) like and have talked about using for the next ones:

Rachel Marie (this will be the next girl's name for sure)
I also like Sarah, Anna, Abigail and Rebekah

Thaddeus James (Middle name is definate, still debating the first name)
Tobias Jeremiah (Not sure DH will go for this one but I like it)
I also like Thomas but my brother claims he's using it :)

For the boys, we're doing the same initials as DH and trying to continue the theme of unusual T names. We're also trying to use at least one Bible name for all of the kids.

If we don't change our minds from now until then from the names we had on our list with Emma, they will be:

Callum
Benjamin

Gillian

Genevieve Elizabeth if we have another girl (nn. Genna)

Not sure for boys. I still like the name Christopher which was our choice when we were PG with Gabrielle. However it's so popular and my cousin is married to a Christopher (and we are very close to the 2 of them) and if they have a boy he will be a junior :blue:

if i have a girl we are recycling our girl name from last pg. so it will be

gianna

for a boy the only name jumping out at me right now is

max

i find boy names to be very difficult. i spent the better part of last sunday reading both my baby name books and got zippo!

My dad's name is Graeme too...Australian, of course. He's found it quite difficult here in the States to get people to understand the spelling...they usually want to spell it "Graham."

As for our names, we love the name Hadley for a girl and Jackson Aidan for a boy...but we haven't had the name discussion since Katie's birth.

We plan to have another baby. If we have a boy we will probably use Colin, it seems to be the ONLY boy name that I like. For a girl DH likes Lily but I dont like it much. Ill probably pick something else, he got to name Madison.

If we have another one will be the first challenge!

If it's a boy: Andrew Lawrence
If it's a girl: Marcia (pronounced Mar-see-ah) Elisabeth or possibly Marcelene or something like it.

My girl's name will depend on whether or not my grandmother is still living when she is born. Obviously I hope that she is :) but I'm Jewish and we don't name our children after living relatives. So, if my grandmother is deceased at that time, our next girl will be Alison Elaine - otherwise she'll be Alison somethingelse!

Boys' names have always been harder for me. I like Andrew, Matthew, Benjamin, and Jacob a lot!

Well if we have a boy the first name will either be Justin or Colin... we loved both those names but didn't use them because we went the family name route with Nicholas Charles (Nicholas my grandpa and Charles is DH's)

For a girl the name we would have chosen for Nick was Julia Pauline... but we may have given into family pressure anyways and gone with a family name. Actually I always wanted to name a little girl Paula after my grandma. So we considere Paula Kathleen (My grandma Paula, Kathleen for DH's) There's also a chance for twins since they run in both our families... So we thought of doing Paula Catherine for one (Catherine is DH's other grandma) and Kathleen Elizabeth for the other (Elizabeth my other grandma) but we don't know... I'm insisting that a variant of Paula be there somewhere if we have a little girl because I was close to my grandma.

If we have another girl, we're leaning towards Audrey (not sure of mn).

For boys, we really can't agree on anything! I like Alexander although the popularity factor bothers me, but DH is too concerned about the nickname "Alex" (which I happen to like). We also have tossed around the possibility of using Ross, which is a family name.

Sarah, you're like almost the opposite to my Anthony. You were born in Australia but ended up living in the US, where he was born OS and ended up living in Australia

For a girl we would name her Brooklyn Elizabeth (what we planned to name this baby is he were a she). For a boy~ DH likes Liam (no middle name) and I find boys names so hard that it may very well be Liam.

Nichole
March 11th, 2004, 11:00 AM
If we have a boy, his name will be Gavin Barrett (middle name is a family name).

We haven't decided on a girl's name yet, but we're leaning toward using the one we had for Jackson had he been a girl: Grace Anna. Also in consideration is Audrey and Ava/Eva (I like the looks of Eva better, but the pronunciation of Ava).

Alyssa

As the mom to one of (the?) oldest Aidan's on the boards who now sees Aidan everywhere online and IRL, I'm a tad distressed to see 4 women here considering Colin for their next child...or in Christine's case, a Colin about to be born!! Guess I might just be cutting edge with my name selections!

I have no say if we have another boy...DH tried to name both Aidan and Colin Seamus, and I closely outvoted him both times. A third boy will be Seamus. I know a lot of people don't like it, so likely that won't end up being as popular as Aidan or Colin. :)

As for a girl...well, some of you know my naming struggles  ...if I were PG now, I'd be working on DH for Avery, Sarah, Caroline or Lindsay.

We have decided on names for this baby (so far anyway):

Ashlyn Makenna for a girl
or
Tyler Blake for a boy.

Tyler Blake was the choice for a boy name with our daughter as well. I like Tyler Ryan better this time but Clint is still stuck on Tyler Blake.

We have our boy and girl names all picked out, but unfortunately I don't want to disclose them until we are expecting again (and maybe not even them). Had a very bad experience with some name stealing so I'm keeping them secret (at least for now). ;)

Well, I'm done having children, but that doesn't mean I don't like butting in on these kinds of discussions.

If we had had a girl her name would have been Kelly Alexandra.

We had no problem naming our first son, Walker T, but the second was a challenge. His name is Tyler Bennett, but we call him Ty (unless we're mad at him!)

We had used the only good boy name, so I suggested Sean but DH vetoed it. (He knew too many Shawns and Shauns, plus niece Shawna) DH had Spencer, Cory and Harrison. Around here Spencers are a dime a dozen (plus, I just don't like it) and at the hospital, after all the screaming was over, and the nurse confirmed he was not born with a name tag, we told her our picks and she said, "Well, I'm just going to put Tyler over here and measure him." and DH said, "Gee, it sounds pretty good when she says it." So the nurse picked his name.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

OK....well if we have a boy this is easy for us. We want to carry the name 'James' out, as not only is it DH's name, but it's my Dad's name and his Dad's name (my grandfather) :)

So...a boy would be James Lorenzo or Lorenzo James - not sure which one. James actually always loved the name Lorenzo, & I have no problems with it.

NOW...if we have a girl on the other hand...boy oh boy....

See, we had always liked the name Gianna and always said if we have another girl that's what we would name her. However, since Lexie's birth, there are 2 pple that we know who's named their daughter that. I just feel since we know these pple that it's too many Gianna's in the mix. :blue: Kim...your so lucky...I envy you that your naming your lil' girl that. :)

So there goes that idea. Other names I like are:

Gianina (sort of has that Gianna feel to it, and also "gina" as well...which DH LOVEs the name Gina, btw)
Giovanna
Genevieve

Arianna (DH doesn't like it though cuz it sounds too close to his ex's name...'Adrianna')
Angelina (James wants this name. he loves it)

As you can see, we're very partial to girls names ending in 'a'. They sound so pretty to me. :)

Needless to say, if we have a girl...we gotta agree on something! But it will most likely be one of these names on this list, that's for sure. :)

Since Art picked Brice's name (I had veto power) I get to pick the next baby's name :) :) :) Some ideas for a boy are: Corey, Carter, Andrew (Drew) For a girl: Alexis, Dru, Blythe, Caureen (combo of my name and my grandmother Maureen)

You may notice a trend - A,B,C or D names only  We're weird.

Thanks!! Yeah- the spelling is the thing that catches me. I'm not sure what is best. There is actually some vineyards about an hour from our house- Raylen Vineyards. So that is where I got the idea, but I'm not sure if I want to spell it like that.

I will be brief...

I had my first AND middle girls name stolen from me. I had made public both names since we didn't find out what we were having when I was pregnant with Jackson. The person KNEW I was going to use that name if/when I had a baby girl and she had a girl first. Good news is I don't speak to her anymore so I'm getting over it. My problem now is I'm not sure how I feel about the name, which SUCKS! :disbelief
