What is the best thing you've won? (can be something based on luck, or something you earned)
What about the last thing you've won?

Out of pure luck winnings - I walked up to a linked slot machine and pressed one button and won the link which was $1300.. while I was waiting for the attendants to come over and give me the slip for the payment I put in $1 in the machine next to it and pressed the button and got 3 of the same picture and won another $450! I couldn't believe it! it's the most I have EVER won.
Out of my own efforts - I won a marathon in school that was so exciting, I had worked really hard and trained hard, and when I ran over the line I almost collapsed but it was an amazing feeling to be the winner!

OOOH. This is a hard one. I was very excited to win the reserved parking spot at my office last December. :woo: (Random drawing.) I've lots of misc. little things because I like to enter little contests, but I've never won anything major.

One time I won a "battle of the sexes" radio contest. I still remember the winning question! I won a dozen roses, lunch at a restaurant downtown, and a free manicure and pedicure.

I think the best thing I won was a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret at a bridal shower many years ago. Boy, did I have fun spending that!
I think I won something at work (last job I had when I was PG with Sarah). I think I had to answer a trivia question about a coworker or something work-related. I really don't remember. I got to choose my prize and I chose a water bottle. It was crappy, though, and it leaked a lot so I threw it out. That was probably the last thing I won.

Earlier this year I won a gift certificate for one night's free stay at a nice hotel nearby (that hosted the show), and breakfast for two the next morning. We haven't used it yet, but it's a nice prize and I was so excited to win.
Everyone who won a prize that day stepped into a money booth. There as a fan blowing, and the booth was filled with fake money, and you had a certain amount of time to grab as much money as you could. Whoever got the most (I think it was the top three people) won some awesome prizes, like diamond earrings. I was at a disadvantage because I am so short that I couldn't reach the ceiling of the booth, so I did really poorly at that.

I was awarded with a customer service award here at work back in July 2004. It is named after someone who worked here in the department and died from cancer. I won $250 and $50 dinner certificate that was good at many local restaurants.
Thats probably the last thing I won also. I dont win things very often!

I won about $350 in the lottery when I was 10 or so. I remember giving a chunk of it to the convent because my mom made me.

I won a Free Pizza a Week for a year (52 Pizza's) from Pizza Hut when I was in the 5th grade. Needless to say we went to Pizza Hut every friday night for a year  We were even able to honor it at different Pizza Huts around the US so that year we went on a vacation for a month out West and had Pizza Hut at four different Pizza Huts!
That is about the only thing I can think that I won.

How sad is it that I don't think I've ever won a single thing? :disbelief

Umm, I don't win stuff. The only one I can think of is in high school all the honour roll students would get together every year and each acedemic department would give away something for a student to win, I won a map of the world. woohoo.

I don't generally win things, either. I won a drawing in college for a GC to a travel store, but that's been about it until just this week. We had a team building thing at work and we got into groups and had to build a tower out of dry spaghetti and marshmallows. The objective was to build the tallest, yet most efficient tower that would hold a hard boiled egg for ten seconds. We had to pay for the marshmallows and the price changed throughout the exercise, so we had to factor and plan how to spend the least and still get a tall tower. Ours won - it was 23 inches. The record! :woo:  It only "cost" $2.61/inch, whereas the others were around $8-10/inch. We each won $15 in gift certs to the coffee cart in our building. Not huge, but we weren't expecting a prize and hey, it's free coffee or sandwiches!

I have actually never really "won" anything, but I guess the closest is at a casino one time, I was down to only $15 at the craps table and within 40 minutes I rolled that $15 up to $1100. That felt really good!!

The coolest thing I ever won was the doctor's services for an IVF cycle. I won it from RESOLVE & the funny thing is that the doctor was already my doctor. We still had to pay for meds & blood work for that cycle but it was a nice prize in the pricey world of invitro.

The best thing I've won was a free week at my old realtor's condo in Sarasota, FL. We went to her Christmas party and that was her grand prize.
The last thing I won was back in June at my chiropractor's health fair. I won 3 months free at Gold's Gym.

I enter lots of competitions so have won a fair few toys, gift vouchers, tickets and such lately. I think the last thing I won was tickets to the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie premiere in Nov last year.
When I was 14, I wrote an essay about my memories of The Beatles tour of Australia in 1964. Of course I wasn't even born then so my entry was total fiction, but I won it! My parents were so proud  My Dad thought it was hilarious and told everyone. I won a Beatles book and badges and stickers and stuff. That always stands out in my mind as the best thing I've won.

Oooh, I forgot, I'm still waiting to hear the results of a contest I entered. Our state mass transit system held an essay contest about people who found love on the MTA (James and I met on the light rail system!) so I wrote an essay about that. The contest supposedly closed 3/31, but they haven't announced winners yet. :dunno: So if they ever decide, I could possibly win a steak dinner to a fancy restaurant downtown.
gulp!

Last Christmas I won a Palm Treo phone from the American Express wishlist contest.
But the one I'm most proud of is when I won the 5th Grade Spelling Bee. :)
