I was thinking about this driving to work this morning. Whenever I feel stressed I try to imagine myself relaxing in a favorite spot. What's yours? It doesn't have to be somewhere fancy or from a swanky trip, just a place or little spot that is special to you. (Or spots, more than one is cool.)

The place that I think of when I'm really stressed isn't a place I've been... sort of. When we went to Hawaii, we found this little key chain with a picture of a hammock hanging between two palm trees in the foreground. In the background was the bluest patch of water, and beyond that were some volcanoes. The colors in the picture were gorgeous, and it seemed so secluded and serene. We did hang out on hammocks on the beach while we were there. But when I really need to chill in a hurry, I think of that picture. I think the being alone part is what relaxes me the most about it these days though.

When I am overworked and stressed at home I immediately just think about filling up my bath tub with lots of bubbles, and soaking in it with a good book http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_3_110v.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm824YYAU)

If I really want to get fancy I think of the cook islands in a secluded beach, just lazing on the beach with my feet in the crystal blue water

Sitting in an alfresco cafe in Venice, drinking red wine, eating pasta and watching gondolas float past :)

Like Stacey, mine is a place I've never been. One time I was cruising the internet and for fun looking for what would be the ultimate vacation. I found a website for a place in Tahiti, where the 'rooms' are right on the water - you have to take a little rowboat to get there. The water is clear, the sand is white, it's gorgeous.

Mine's like Stacey's and Barb's. It's a figment of my imagination and not even based on one picture, but is a combination of pictures and places I've been. It's a nice white sand beach with just enough shade to be comfortable. Nice breeze, sound of the waves, comfy chaise, a cold drink, and a book. Ahhh...

Kind of like the beach in those Corona commercials, now that I think about it.

I picture being at the pool on a float looking up at the trees and blue sky. I also think about being on a carribean beach with the cool breeze blowing and feeling the white sand while I drink a beer. Both of these help me relax and find my happy place.

When I'm most stressed, I remember being on my college campus. I felt so at home there and was so happy. When I worked in the area, on bad days I would go and walk around just to calm me down.

Mine is a made up place, too, based on a real place. When I was younger I used to go with a friend into this wooded area behind our middle school. There was a creek running through it, and it was very peaceful. So my relaxation place is a heavily wooded area with a stream running through it, with a rock that I imagine sitting on (more comfortable in imagination than reality!)

Although the tahiti huts would be a good runner up- I used to look at one of those websites daily when I was planning my wedding/honeymoon! :)
