The only rule is that it can't be red! We have red in the living room and dining room.

I've noticed that the paint in the shower is starting to peel so we might need to paint soon. The tile up 1/2 of the wall is white (on all walls). The upper part of the walls are slightly off-white. The floor tile is light brown and the counter top is cream. Fixtures are crome.

It's a small room.

Should we go light like yellow or dark like navy? Help!

Looking in from the doorway -

Bathtub is also white with a tub suround.

Floor and wall tile

Current shower curtain - can be changed.

This shows how much of the wall would need to be painted. I would probably not paint the ceiling.

Brooke, I like the idea of something dark. Not sure why, but something light like yellow might just looked really washed out. I think a nice navy would look terrific next to those great wall tiles. And it would really pop out the white window trim and show off the white shutter - which I love. Just my 2 cents, but I'd lose the lacy curtains. :) If you did, you'd have a much more "Pottery Barn" looking room, which I love. Also, do you guys shower in there? If not, I have some ideas for alternatives to that curtain.

The lace curtain came with the house. It's filthy dirty, too. I just haven't replaced it. The shutter needs to be painted but it's in ok shape.

Yes, we shower in here. It's our only full bath. I used to have a solid yellow shower curtain until last week. I let Rebekah pick this one out. It was either this or Winnie the Pooh.

Brooke, when I saw the pics, I was thinking navy before I even saw that you mentioned it. I think it would give a nice, stark contrast to the tile and floor.

BTW- That is exactly the same wall tile I am using in my bathroom... Surprise, surprise, huh? Weseem to have similar taster as well :)

These are NOT our bathrrom. I wish they were. They are from the Behr color thing on their website. Our floor is about the color of the rug.

Which color do you like better?
#1 - Plum

The plum is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you wanted to go in another direction, I was thinking about a nice coffee-with-cream color? Not as pale as taupe or something, KWIM, but a little darker.

Darren likes the green.

Brooke, I love that plum color. I just keep looking at it though and wondering if it would look more purple IRL... KWIM? But, if it is closer to a dark blue than a purple, I think it would be perfect!

Yeah - I'd lose the lace curtains.
Not sure how much $ you want to spend, but if you wanted to go with more of a PB kind of look, you could replace the light fixture for probably around $60. Some nice brushed nickel looking fixtures for the vanity would look real cool with that color, as well (which you could get for probably as low as $1.00 per!)

I love the plum as long as it is not to purplely.

That's exactly what I was thinking! I think a coffee color would look awesome in that bathroom next to all the white!

I really like the plum color also.

I like the plum. Before I saw those pictures my first thought was, and I still think it would look pretty good, is orange. Not an orangey-orange but a terracotta orange. It would go well with the wood cabinets, I think. I too would lose the lace valance. Also, the orange would go nicely with the orange fish on the shower curtain. :)

I agree with Karri on the new light fixture and some new brushed nickel knobs. For color, I like the navy or the coffee idea. :)

We settled on this color - Blackberry harvest. It's a shade more blue than the Plum I posted above, although I think this preview makes it look like the same color.

Nice colour choice, Brooke! Post pictures when you're done!

I second the nickel hardware and light fixture, if you guys are into doing that, too! It would look great!

The light in there is silver so it matches all the faucets and such. So we will probably leave it for now, until I find something I really like.

I will end up changing the cabinet hardware because I don't like it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Also, what about painting the cabinet white? Too much white? Do you think the wood looks better?

I think painting the cabinet out (white) would look great...it would give it a real fresh/clean look, and you'd have a whole new room!

I love the color you selected and I think painting the cabinet white would just further the nice crisp look you're going for. It's going to look fabulous!

What color towels? Several of my aunts use white towels because they can bleach them every time they wash them and they look great...not sure how you would feel about that though.

I wouldn't mind using white towels. Right now we have several shades of green towels. I don't know why...everyone has bought us green towels.

White cabinets would look great with that colour! What are you doing about the shower curtain? You can get clear ones.

I like fabric curtains so I'll probably get a white fabric one. I also use a clear liner behind the fabric one.

Love the color and the idea of painting the cabinet white! It will look awesome!

Here is a shower curtain from Target, Pottery Barn also makes a nice white terry shower curtain.

"cold" colours (blue, yellow, green) are for smaller spaces and indicate intimacy. So I'd choose a nice tone of any of those. I like the blue of these boards :)

"warm" colours (orange, red) are for bigger spaces like the living room or the dinning room.

Ok...so this thread is over a year old and we just now painted this weekend!

Here's the before photo

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b4dc06b3127cceb935d7e1060e0000001610 (http://java_script_:openSlideWin(1,%20'67b0de21b398709da4 51',%2037);/)

Here are photos! The color is Behr Blackberry Harvest.
We also replaced the sink and vanity this weekend, to give us more room. The shower curtain is also a white waffle weave - the one from Target.
We're going to look for a new light fixture and possibly paint the wood on the medicine cabinet (can't really see in the photos) because the wood just doesn't go anymore.

We're going to re-paint the ceiling and trim white probably this weekend.

Here it is done.

http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5db37b3127cce91f67b46453400000026139AatWTZi5au (http://javascript:openSlideWin(1,%20'67b0de21b30c9af82554',%2057);)

Here you can see the new sink and cabinet. At least you don't have to squeeze between the sink and the wall to get to the toilet anymore.

Oh WOW! I love it Brooke!!! That's a great color!!!

I want to change the kids bathroom. It's a really dull grey. I should go take a pic and get some opinions on here. I keep thinking a bright but pale green would be good.
