Not sure where exactly this belongs
Somehow my Led Zep cd that worked just freaking fine a couple weeks ago is now scratched to rat sh*t, anyone know if there is a way to fix it? I've heard someone mention before that it can be done just not sure how or where?
TIA :)

I think you can try polishing it but that's about it. I've tried this myself on a bunch of kids DVD's. Surface scratches I could buff out but other than that I've been SOL.

They do make these kits for scratches that have a liquid you put over the deeper scratches. I tried one once when we had a Nemo DVD scratched all to hell. It didn't work for us. Not sure if we did something wrong though. :dunno:
Otherwise, unless you can buff out the lighter scratches, you're probably SOL. :(

You could try the Disk Doctor. I have the battery operated one. It's repaired all my cds that were scratched. It's a bit of a pita to use but if you read the directions, it's not difficult.
It polishes away the protective shiny outer layer of the cd, taking the scratches with it. Unless the scratches are super deep, it will work. I've not had one yet that couldn't be repaired.
The only catch is that you can't let them get scratched a second time because once you polish off the protective layer, there is no where else to go.
It will work on DVDs CDs, even data or photo CDs.
I also found some things called Skinz (I think) which are clear protective films you put directly over the data side of the cd. You can play them while they are on so they stay protected. There are probably several products like this out there but these work great for me. If you scratch the Skinz, you just throw it out and put on a new one and your cd still works.

I think we bought ours at Radio Shack  The automatic one cost about 2x more but if you have several disks it's worth it.

umm, I thought you got it in the states.
Its a cleaner for brass would you believe  I googled suggestions when my CD got scratched and I came across Brasso a lot. You just lightly rub it on with a cotton pad, and just before it dries you rub it off with a clean it off with a clean cloth.
Here are a couple of links, maybe its called something else with you guys :)
